Back to the terrain they had in storage for 2 years, this makes me even more hopeful they have alot of this planned out. Consider if they have had these models and Ideas in the vault for this long, maybe just maybe they did test and balance in those 2 years or longer? And this does turn out good! If anything my D&d mini range has nust expanded!!

Honestly if they carefully planned anything it was exactly that; how they could build a world that would offer maximum possibilities for people to buy the models for use in other things. Sigmarines for 40K converters, Chaos with broadly the same aesthetic so you can use it across their systems and beyond, "Fyreslayers" now for D&D types, and I'm sure it'll keep going, the new Elf & Orc aesthetics will likely have been fudged to make them appealing to people playing other fantasy games & RPGs.
I actually find it a quite hilarious irony; GW abandoned a "generic" low-fantasy with high-fantasy elements setting because it was too similar to reality, but by going full-on OTT high-fantasy if anything they've created something even more generic, because they're just walking the same path as dozens of other high-fantasy worlds that took the OTT word-salad approach to traditional fantasy concepts.

So Malerion is what we get when Malekith and Tyrion do the fusion dance, right?
What would be interesting is if we get some sort of Avatar of Malerion to lead the Aelfs at some point down the line.
It'll be interesting to see how over the top the Aelfs end up. Never was a big fan of GW's pointy ears, so I'll remain optimistic they can pull me in this time around.

Moreover, there doesn't seem to be a comparable video on the channel. There's an old Horus/ FW one, and that's about it.
If they had, say, and Eldar one released around the Eldar-Codex and and AdMech one released around the Ad-Mech time, etc... all with the same spam promotion across all forums, you'd have a benchmark to compare them against.

And yet, Malekith is still listed for Dark Elves...
Remember that Lileath was in the process of "creating" a new Elven Goddess of the Underworld using Eldyr(Tyrion's daughter). Eldyr became so powerful that she was able to aid Lileath in creating the "Shield Realm" that was betrayed.

You have to remember that Malekith in the Dark Elves Warscrolls is just a place holder until Aelfs are reignited. That warscroll is just for the previous model.

Not saying she's wrong, but something feels hinky about it. If it really were meant to be Malekith then they could have had SOMETHING in the Compendium about him creating a new name for himself or the like.

What does that have to do with Malekith? The Warscrolls we were given are not the way forward. They are for existing players to use the models they already have.

It would be funny if the new Aelfs look just like the Dark Elves from Thor 2. They'd fit in with the Sigmarines better than the current range.
