Oh, and a random thought for the USA painters; since we have an Ork emblazoned with a Union Flag representing GB, anyone fancy trying to incorporate the American flag into theirs?

I may try that actually

Got some better pictures this morning. I should probably invest in making a light box at some point in time.

Anyway this should make for better viewing at least.

Wow, that is amazing Winter.

I'm around whenever matey, I'll actually be out at wentworth park on the 12th if that is closer to you? Other than that, any Wednesday at UTS (paper bag building). No hurry though dude, whenever works for you I can work in with.

I'll have to think of a way to get this dude home

Also, I will lightbox and light correct him when I get him

Need to work out what we all think should happen for the basing - suggestions?

Ok... I don't know if I said it correctly, but I never donated...

Ruin- It's official, we've ran out of things to talk about on Dakka. Close the site. We're done.
mrhappyface- "They're more what you'd call guidlines than actual rules" - Captain Roboute Barbosa

Ah exam time, I'm actually at UTS everyday (joys of being a Post grad), so i'll just bring him with me on Wednesday and shoot you a message/call.

He will come off his base and the rotor isn't glued so it shouldn't be too terrible to transport.

Basing could be anything really, I think it would be best to see all the models before deciding, you want something that works for everything.

YES, thanks Winter.

It looks awesome, but one of the blades looks to have snapped - easy fix though so NBD.

I will get some photos tonight, my lightbox is my airbrush extractor, so just need to clean my desk

Thanks again mate!

So, what will the basing be like?

EXCELLENT QUESTION Good friend.

I have no idea. I do have this as a table, so something that goes with that;

http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=125_131&products_id=721

I could probably pressmould parts of the tiles and then use that as the base? At least it would be consistent, and not cheap and nasty like my regular cork efforts. I'm also not against simply buying bases for them all from SWM.

That is rather annoying, they are a bit precious though. Most of mine have lost a blade at some point. Keen to see how it looks well lit.

As for basing you could pretty easily replicate the tiles with some sheet styrene and sand. Score your groves in the plasticard, add sand and you are good.

I figured the easiest and most consistent is just a truckload of oyumaru all over a board, then just jam 32mm sized, 2mm thick globs of GS all over it - then I can paint them the same time I paint the boards and I have my basing sorted for the next 20 years

Geez those tiles is a brilliant idea, will have to use that sometime. Could make hundreds of them if I look at the price of them with our exchange rate plus shipping. Love the deffkopta!!

roll out a sheet of GS, spray water on the terrain, press the gs down and then ....(correct size) cookie cutter!!!!

Shouldn't be a problem really so long as you avoid the grid lines, which should be easy enough as they look to be 1.5" apart, and just remember that if you press on a pile of rocks you're getting a crater, press on crater you're getting a mound.

Howdy, all. Long time, no see...

As kb_lock alluded to earlier, the real world hit me with a ton of bricks. Cumulatively, at least - it was really more like a few independent barrages of bricks that added up to a ton. Neither the NA painters nor the glorious Ork mob that awaits Australian deployment conquest have been forgotten. I've been snagging small shipping boxes from work and assembling 'token apology for gross negligence' goody bags all the while I've been silent. Yoda once said "Do or do not. There is no try." Well, Yoda was a . "Try" isn't always good enough, but it still has some value... I hope. Again, I apologize to all involved for the delays. Things will be shipped out as soon as possible. If anyone is worried about the approaching winter, I can prime their bits (in the color of their choice) before mailing them, so long as their willing to have me do a potentially mediocre job of moldline removal.

P.S. - Sorry for the confusion, Tactical_Spam - when I said I'd "add you to the list," I meant my personal list. I had forgotten that kb was updating the OP, and I have no control over that. Seems it's been sorted out by now, though.

It's no problem, take your time. Though I've no complaints about getting free bits to use.

That said, depending on what the ETA is for them, some priming could be useful. It's starting to get pretty chilly down here in the desert, so would you like just a post with prime requests? Or would a PM be better,

Anyone with any special requests/instructions should send them by PM. You'll need to include enough personal info that I know which Ork to do what with, after all.

All finished with the building and painting, just going to base and maybe pick out a few details this weekend

I notice my posts seem to bring threads to a screeching halt. Considering the content of most threads on dakka, you're welcome.

Define special requests

H.B.M.C.- The end hath come! From now on armies will only consist of Astorath, Land Speeder Storms and Soul Grinders!

By "special requests/instructions," I meant anything from "I didn't give you my full name, but don't send out a package with my Dakka handle - my mom would freak out" to "I fear that weather will impede priming, so please clean the mold lines and prime my parts before shipping the model out" to "I worship you. Please include in my package a hair from 1) your beard and 2) your dog."

If you're looking for particular bits or materials required for your intended project, I could try to include them (assuming I have them)... but I don't want to open a proverbial can of worms. I've offered token additional gubbins (randomized, as mentioned) because I feel bad for taking so long - I don't want to create a whole new process that has to be completed before shipping. That said, until I post that I've mailed the packages, I'll at least field any and all questions/requests pertaining thereto (preferably by PM, so that I also get an email notice).

P.S. - Inclusion of head/, beard, and/or dog hair is liable to happen, whether you ask for it or not. Sorry, but we're the two men of the house and we both shed prodigiously. Haven't been smokers for some time, now, so at least that's one sensitivity/allergy you can check off your hypothetical "should I accept this package?" list.
