Well... I thought I had email notifications set up. Mea culpa. Been thinking about popping back in, but was discouraged by the apparent, although erroneous, lack of any development.

General_K, your boy has arrived safe and sound! Thanks for the note, by the way. Quick aside - my wife has nothing to do with this account or this project (or the hobby, in general ), I just used generic return address labels. Since I imagine she'll get a kick out of it, though, I'll tell her she was wished well by a Canadian stranger... and wait a while before explaining, since I'll get a kick out of that.

Your boy will join the small (but growing!) group in the cabinet as soon as he's labeled. Unless you wish otherwise, I'll stick to the same system: first name, last initial, and username (e.g. Alan G/oadie) on the underside of the base.

So... are there any North American painters still reading this thread that haven't sent something in but plan to?

D'oh, I keep forgetting about this. I promised to send an Ork from my personal stash.

I'm trying to finish up my LOER terrain comp entry this week. I can probably have my Ork painted up for this project by next weekend (3/12).

Oadie, are you looking to box up as many USA Orks as you can so you can ship them in one package?

I will also try to paint up one of my own unbased Boyz. If you're looking to have them soon, let me know and I'll bump one up to the front of my painting queue.

(RIP the Ork Boy who got lost in the Warp we refer to as the U.S. postal system before ever reaching me)

Haha! Well, that'll be fun - let me know how that goes for you (and how long you occupied hotel Couch )

Glad the boy made it safe, and yes I'm fine with that labelling system. There'd been talk about postage being covered, is that KB I talk to?

Ideally, yes. However, we've also established that expediency isn't the 'be all and end all' aspect of this project. While the plan certainly is to ship out one box... I've received two orks, to date, plus one of my own. There is time if you have other, more pressing projects, I'd just ask that you try to keep this one in the back of your mind, somewhere.

As stated, speed is not our apparent strong suit. If it never moves up the queue, it'll never get done... but no need to kill yourself cramming it in before things you need for comps, scheduled games, etc.

People have been more distracted by less. Worry not!

Yeah, kb is the one to talk to about reimbursement. As for the shenanigans... they failed. Wife vaguely remembered about the project and made the logical connections, having brought in the small package from a mysterious northern neighbor. Oh well.

In closing, I'd like to say one thing: What the ? I SWEAR, after the last time, that I set up email notifications. Globally, no less, since I haven't been posting elsewhere on the board and wasn't liable to get flooded. This site's features are great, so I must be doing something wrong...

Good man! PM me if/when you need my address - since I didn't ship you an ork, you also didn't receive the return-address label I sent out with each package. Can't remember if I posted it, in thread, and don't feel like going through 28 pages to find out.

OK gentlemen, I finished my Ork Boy. Base is unfinished, as requested.

I hope it's OK that he's one of the 2nd Ed Ork Boy models. If you want, I could paint up another one, in addition to this little guy. Maybe one of the more modern sculpts. Costs the same to ship 1 as 2. Yes/no?

Pfft, half of us still haven't sent our minis in. You could still definitely participate, though it may take a donation like what I'm planning to do. Definitely PM kb or oadie if you're interested

If you truly are located in Finland (flags aren't always accurate), Ninjapirate, then you're closest to Buttery. Whether you should (if you do decide to join in) send to the UK or straight to kb in Australia is better left up to them. Makes no sense to send anything my way, just to send it back even farther.

[edit:] Woops! Forgot the other half of my intended message.

Nice work, Cleatus (the slack-jawed zombie-borg yokel?)! kb did want a hodgepodge of orks for the mob... and a 2nd ed. boy is as different as just about any conversion would or could be. If you want to do more, keep working. If you're ready to call it a job done and ship out, PM me for my mailing address.
