I don't hate AOS. I'm bored senseless by AOS. Can I play KOW with the grownups without hearing how I'm destroying the hobby with my negativity?
There are KOW forum out there, your negativity is damge to forum not hobby, you don't need to post. Automatically Appended Next Post: MWHistorian wrote:Says he wants a place to discuss, good or bad, yet labels all criticism as Haterz and whiners.
Maybe the reason you hear so much negativity about the game is because people have a lot of things they find wrong with it? Where there's smoke, there's fire.
Opinions on the game will differ. Some may not like the game for the very reasons that you do. That's ok. We're here to discuss that. Wanting to get rid off all opinions that are different than yours isn't helpful to anyone.
I like a lot of things that other people can't stand. I understand why they don't like it, (instead of dismissing those opinions and insulting the person) but it doesn't lessen my enjoyment of those things.
In other words, your going to have to develop a thicker skin. Especially if you're defending AOS.
Criticism won't make you hater/whiner, with baseless assumption, twist other word into own flavor and repeat for 3 month make you. I stated those line clearly, just read before you post, don't twist my word into your flavor.

Yet you call people who criticize Age of Sigmar as "Whiners" and that they should leave this forum.
My question to you, MeowStalker, is what makes an opinion "criticism" and what makes an opinion "toxic whining"?
My opinion on Age of Sigmar is that it is incredibly shallow, lazily written and a blatant cash grab. It has the minimum amount of effort needed to produce a commercially viable wargame in 2015 and it is inexcusable that a company as large as Games Workshop would put out something so half assed and bare bones.
Is this criticism or toxic whining to you and why? What if I told you that I actually still like Age of Sigmar in spite of itself because of the great miniatures and that I am currently painting up some Warriors of Chaos for the game? That you can still derive enjoyment out of the game if you try? Should I, someone who owns an Age of Sigmar army and plans to drum up interest for the game at my FLGS, bad for the community and get off the forums?

Playing KoW doesn't make anyone a negative person. Constantly repeating how much they hate another game they don't have any interest in playing does. I have yet to see AoS fans go to the KoW forum to crap on that game from their high horses. Probably because they have no interest in it and so naturally don't feel the need to constantly think about it and engage with it. But moderation policy here being what it is (trolling is fine as long as you don't insult anyone directly), please keep up the "Age of Excrement" trolling and gakposting that brings nothing to the forum, it's fully within your rights and I'm sure it makes you guys happier to think about AoS every day.
Reminds me of the meme where CoD was meant for grown ups, but played by kids, while minecraft was meant for kids but played by adults. AoS was bashed for being aimed for '12 year olds', and yet, these '12 year olds' seems more mature than those who likes to bash the game.
Anyway, I am sure it depends on the players you play with. If you are playing with a more competitive players, KoW will be for you. If you want to have fun and have some cheers and crazy things happening, AoS is for you. You can have that fun in KoW too, and you can have competitiveness in AoS too, so it really all depends on your local meta in the area, and like what minijack says, play both.

There is a lot of condescension and passive aggressiveness coming from the Pro- AoS crowd too, to be fair.

Way off topic. (Well we've already crossed that line, haven't we?)
I've been noticing Warthrone recently and they look like they're going to be the new big kid on the block.(really loving their Empire-like models)
How do you guys think they're going to affect the fantasy wargame scene?

Their miniatures are really nice and they aren't bad cost wise. It'll depend on how they do their marketing for their game.

Once again, read the title of the thread. This is not just a valid place to talk about KoW, but that is the expressed purpose of the thread.
And, again, I'd propose that the person telling people not to post is the one damaging the forum, as more people and more opinions make for a much more successful forum than an echo chamber that bans disagreeing voices.

If AoS was genuinely a great game then everyone who was criticizing it wouldn't even have an impact on the amount of posters. People would just be posting about how much they love the game. But if it is has gotten to the point where we must coddle positive discussion then how strong was AoS's position in the first place?

Stop quoting only one line and twist into your flavor, I stated a few time that, whinefest come form whiner repeat their point for 3 month and every thread(almost), and their opinion are nothing but baseless assumption and twist other word into their flavor, like you just quote 1 line and twist it.

Ok, please, tell me how I twisted your words. I removed the parts I thought irrelevant to keep the post from being cluttered, did I remove something that was relevant?
Did you not imply that KoW discussions belong in a KoW forum and not here?

If AoS is a bad game, the game/forum/community will die eventually. However, the fact is, some think great, some say bad. The worst part is, some guys repeat their opinion again, again and again for 3 month, express btheir baseless assumption and twist other line into their flavor, that is nothing but whinefest.

Simply that, the line you removed is the relevant part.

Meowstalker, please calm down and stop insulting people. Don't take critics to a game you like personal. There's no reason to be rude about it.

You won't make the negativity go away by insulting people. If you want to see more positive discussion about AoS, then engage in more positive discussion about AoS.
You're wasting your time and everyone else's by railing against people for having a different opinion to your own.

Walks into thread, sees a bunch of brand new posters bashing KoW, assumes 12 year old trolls "doing it for the lulz". If those said trolls knew what they were talking about, they'd know that Mantic is mostly made up of ex GW employees from the "golden age" of GW's history. When they left, they wanted to hold onto that attitude and keep it alive. The guys who wrote the rules for earlier WHFB and 40K are part of the Mantic staff. So are you going to get similarities? Of course. When Mantic found out the Warhammer world was getting nuked, they built unofficial-official lists for the armies they had no interest in making: WoC, Skaven, TK, etc so that those players wouldn't feel like they didn't have a game system. Every race in KoW exists in other fantasy settings too. And again, many of the guys who built GW up are now building up Mantic. Don't you suppose they may have helped make one of those races in WHFB what it was, and wanted to keep that race after they left?
If you have actually played KoW and actively dislike it (whether it's because tactics matter more than list building, no super units, magic isn't ridiculous, etc), then that's fine. Clearly it isn't for you. But if you're going to piss on a game for creating new factions it had no intention of making to make sure all players had a current, live ruleset, then go someplace else.
This is directed at a couple new posters with double-digit post counts who are clearly trolls. I expect you'll learn nothing, and will continue the same way. But the big tournaments are picking up Mantic. And it's gaining steam around the world. If you don't want to be a part of it though, don't worry. I don't think you'll be missed.

There is nothing about this post I do not like.

When they left, they wanted to hold onto that attitude and keep it alive. The guys who wrote the rules for earlier WHFB and 40K are part of the Mantic staff. So are you going to get similarities? Troll for what? Tell the truth about current state of dakka forum? I expect you learn something, stay behind the rule don't make you contributing.
BTW, I never bashing anything about KoW, I even stated that, KoW is a good game, don't put your word into other mouth. Yes, KoW are more less like 6th ed with Ravening Horde, simply and straight.
