Obviously the Ultramarines. They are the greatest of all Space Marines as they follow the teachings of the greatest Primarch (Roboute Guilliman) closest. Their strict adherence to the Codex Astartes means that a Ultramarine strike force will not want for tactical flexibility, strategic brilliance and individual fighting skill. Truly the Ultramarines are the finest of the Adeptus Astartes that all chapters should look up to as an example of what it truly means to be a Space Marine.

The deck is stacked massively against the Khorne force. The Ultramarines are very, very shooty and whoever set up the table decided to not use any terrain save for a gate.

Khorne forces have no way to cross the table, and with the setup being so strongly detrimental, this isn't going to be a fair fight.

Ultramarines cause whoever set up the field broke essential rule of 40k. The more terrain the better. Ultras will just shoot da whoop out of khorne

We don't have any more terrain.

The KDK player has stomped 2 [good] Tau armies on this exact table.

Than I'd rather place it on opponents getting outplayed. I personally don't see anything scary maybe aside helldrake. If played wisely sm should stop

Why are the 2x 5 man tac squads in rhinos? Wouldn't a razorback be better for them? I mean I know they are free but would add even more dakka to the list.

Rhinos offer a level of protection for 35pts that the grav can shoot out of.

What were these "good" Tau armies?

Terrain doesn't have to be officially purchased - absolutely anything can be used as terrain, including making your own (something GW has stopped encouraging now they've worked out they can sell it to you), to using a few books and a cloth for hills, or cardboard-cut-out trees, or loo rolls / cans / tins as some sort of industrial plant.

I weep for barren tables everywhere.

The smurf force seems to have a miniature that has a few drops of paint on it... surely that has to be a mistake?

Quanar,
7Th Edition has a Rule called 'Scratch Built Terrain,' and I love it so much because it grants us permission to make whole Datasheets for custom made Terrain.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.
