It's definitely neat but haters gotta hate.
I'm sure it's the same crew that complain about every skull or aquila on a model in 40k.
Too bad about the price though. If definitely knocks it out of the realm of possibilities for your average Joe gamer.

Yep for me its nice, but not that nice, especially seeing as I would have to pay for someone to make it look decent for me as well !!
I can see why people hate though and if it was cheaper it would be an instant buy for so many people im sure !

I like that the dreadhold is modular scenery, and the combinations shown in the vid. I would probably be inclined to pick up one of these if it wasn't for the price. Not a huge problem, but it would have been nice if there was more diversity in the wall section floor pattern and decorations beyond skulls. I would hope that GW or FW releases god-oriented add-ons for it like they do with 40k chaos vehicles, but I won't hold my breath to that being anything probable (that's a personal wishlist don't read that as a rumor).
But skulls and spikes aside, the overall form isn't something impossible to make from scratch.
It is likely, depending on who you play, that this will cost more than most armies that will be playing on the board. Well then I remembered the prices for Sigmarines.
I think it's ugly, so im personally glad it's expensive. Would hate for that eye sore to be in my club. I much prefer the normal castle we have.

Well since the scenery is modular it's not as bad as I thought. It would cost to make something big but, overall not bad. I like the New Bloodwarriors kit.

My Hobby Blog:
I wanted some small part of that keep, but the prices are outrageous. The Warriors are a little pricey, but are basically perfect for my ongoing conversion project, so worth it to me.
I wonder how many people here will never actually see the Dreadfleet in real life, since it's so dang expensive...

Meh, at least they still have some sense of humor.
I mean, I despise the whole AoS debacle as much as the next guy here but GW not taking their skull fetish too serious is hardly on the top of the list.

DreadHold, I'm sure you mean
I'm sure you'll see it here and there. We have an Imperium city setup that has 2 Fortress of Redemption, a few Bastion, and a butch of wall of Martyrs that was not cheap to put together (sill much less than Dreadhold, I don't think) -- it is fantastic terrain to play on though.
The sprues look pretty cool.
I don't know why people object to the skulls/aquilla -- they ARE themed buildings.

Because they're all over the damn place. There's too much going on, it's an eyesore. I can't focus on anything, all I see are skulls. There are skulls on walls, skulls in the halls, skulls on stairs and skulls over there. Craniums on the doors, jawbones in the floors, and a bucket of teeth in the pantry. While previous terrain pieces had a lot of skulls or aquilas, it was nowhere near this bad.

Hahaha... I know what you mean. I would have bought less Chaos-y modular terrain, too, and am going to pass on this (I buy almost nothing Chaos). On the other hand, I'm just saying, this supposed to be the castle of the Lord of Skulls or whatever, right? So it does fit
There is a guy in our group who has been mulling Chaos for like, 2 years (lack of a good codex has been the stumbling factor; Daemonkin has helped to some degree). I'm trying to push him over the edge and convince him to buy (and paint) some of the Chaos terrain
LOL. Wow, that looks like an even bigger set than the one pictured in WD (more big towers). Or am I wrong? Aside from the rather stupendous price tag, imagine how long painting that will take. It will be Age of Sigmar 3e before it's done Of course, there will be a Duncan Rhodes video that will come out, where Duncan looks like he can polish off a fabulous looking tower in less time than it takes to wish an episode of Game of Thrones

I'm just happy that they're on sprues in the first place. I was worried they'd be that hard dark plastic that came in the plastic bags like a lot of recent stuff. Good to see they're proper normal terrain sprues. I wish this stuff had come out for Planet Strike.

Huh, well I'll be... GW is not only poking fun at themselves but actually holding a contest to give something away? Its a step in the right direction at least.
While I'm pretty curious as to what will come further down the line for the forces of death, I'm also curious for what their plans are to diversify the different stormcast chambers. if thats what they are actually doing with this hallowed knights thing, which would be cool.

My 25 year old copy of Slaves to darkness says otherwise, its chaos, expect skulls, nothing changed there for years.

I hope the bloodthirster sized sigmarine is real, kinda want that... On the fortress thing, I guess the point is for multiple people to buy each piece and combine it when needed.
