i wanted a vendetta, but did not want to wait or pay for three twin linked lascannons, but I had an big 6 barrel gun in my bits not so I figured why not? It is definitely NOT a Valkyrie, and I will never play in any big tournaments so I hope it is ok.

Call it the vendetta cannon, it's exactly like three twin linked lascannons oddly enough. The thing under the right wing is the power cells for the gun. ( to balance things out)

So, is this too confusing of a conversion?

Without you saying anything, I would have assumed it was a thunder fire cannon. That said as long once it's pointed out it's clear enough for casual play

It's not confusing from a gaming standpoint, but would be 143% more awesome if it had matching cannons under both wings.

It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies.

Yeah that is what did it for me, firing the main gun would make you turn left (and probably roll left)

That said, it does look amazing

My first thought would be that it's a Vulture, meaning Punisher Cannons and Strafing Run. It's a Valkyrie chassis packing miniguns and it's a well-known, fairly popular vehicle AFAIK.
Of course if I were told beforehand that it was a Vendetta, I'd be fine with it and no issues are raised. But then again I'm extremely comfortable with outright proxying as long as I'm told.
I would think that the average player would probably be fine as long as you make the effort to remind them that it is in fact packing 3 Lascannons and that the minigun is entirely for show. However it's also something that is definitely worth clearing with an organizer if you plan on entering any planned events, and you should be prepared for the eventuality of somebody insisting that it should be a Vulture.

I think it would look better mounted to the hull in some way, not the wing.

I really don't understand this engineering. How such a small machine is supposed to lift a car so heavy?

Seriously, I think the twin linked cannon is supposed to be installed ear the cockpit and not beyond the wing. Is this a recast thunder fire cannon or something?

It's the gatling cannon from the new knight titan kit.

Cool conversion, though it needs to be mounted more along the center line a-la the A-10 Thunderbolt (Commonly called the Warthog).

Google image search it if you're not familiar. It's a beast of a ground attack aircraft.

Take it easy.

Edit: Forgot to add the knight titan bit. Derp.

Thanks for the input.

1: I don't think firing the gun would cause it to turn simply because energy weapons don't have recoil.

2: I could not fit the gun on the body in a way I thought looked good. I tried.

3: I know it is big, I wanted something large enough to look like it would reduce the troop capacity.

I would assume as a vulture at first take, due to the Gatling cannon, if you want vendetta, the gun need to be more lascannon like. You should just mount another Gatling cannon on the other wing and count as a vulture.

I'm taking this as it is confusing. I will look at fixing it.

Two lascannons on the nose and two on each wing should work fine. I'll look into bits buying em.

Update, gun came off easy. Ordered some twin linked Razorback lascannons.

It's a laser weapon. Why would it make you turn?

Its a bit unconventional, but it all fits together quite well. Once pointed out what it is, I think people would generally be accepting. Maybe make the barrels more obviously lascannons (maybe replace the muzzles with Lascannon muzzles?) and it would be more immediately obvious what it is.

Its a neat conversion but does look off since it isn't symmetric. i take it and mount it like the A-10 warthog that was suggested above.

Well, here is an experiment with making the gun more lascannon like and closer to the center of the craft.

I'll post more when it is done

Now that's not so bad and I'd be much more comfortable with it. Not only is it more lascannon-like but it really comes across as a jacked up Multilaser

That is kinda what I was thinking. There is a guy who just uses a Valkyrie as a vendetta after declaring it at start of game ami I have yet to see or even hear of anyone complain.

I'm not cool with that. It's not WYSIWYG.

And as this thread has pointed out it;s not like it's hard to approximate a Vendetta. You don't need to buy the Forgeworld conversion parts even. Razorback lascannons work, I used Lascannons from a Centurion kit on mine, and this Gatling Las idea looks good too now that it's been relocated.

Would a lascannon end on each of the barrels help?

I think it looks cool and wouldn't have a problem playing against it.

I am going to leave it as it is for now. If I get a lot of flack I'll throw some more conventional TL lascannons on it.

I don't think so. Like I said, I'm seeing a comparison to a Multi-laser which itself has a rotary system to prevent overheats. All six lascannons wouldn't be firing at once but instead one after the other in quick succession. It's sound to me, just like a real world Minigun it would help cut down on the degradation of the barrels and lengthen the overall lifespan of the weapon while savagely spiking up the firing rate.

No no no. It's not wyswyg. 3 weapons should be represented as a 3 weapons.
In case of if your friends agree to play with that model, you don't need forum agreement.

Under the guidelines of "Counts As" it could be construed that the barrels become damaged, limiting the firepower produced.

I have put honest to goodness twin linked lascannons on it. Better safe than sorry.
