I was on my way through northern Idaho to Montana one Christmas and pulled into a gas and go joint at 10 in the evening.
I saw a man and three women, none of whom looked in any danger of appearing on the honor roll, standing by the pumps. The man's arm was on fire and all four were laughing as he snapped his arm up and down, extinguishing the flames.
I was thinking to myself it was a good thing he managed to put out the fire when he produced a lighter and reignited his arm for the amusement of his little group.
Needless to say, I left in a hurry.

I like Spiders personally. They keep to themselves and they kill the donkey-cave bugs that gak in your food, suck your blood and generally ruin your day.
But I also support disproportionate retribution as an American. I don't think he went far enough. He should've nuked it from orbit just to be sure. The spider could've survived the fire, after all.

So I've been trying to find the most epic spider story I'd ever heard. But I was unable to get access to it. It was told by a young man on another forums website known as Heroscapers.com. It was in a thread in The Hangout which was a place for under 18 years of age forum members. Being 18 I no longer have access to that. Later i will try to get my younger brother to grab the quote for me but for now I will explain it as best I remember. The following is a story told by Heroscapers.com member Chilling Touch "So last week I took a drive out to my girlfriend's house about 15 miles from my place. I decided to take my motorcycle instead of the car, so I grabbed my helmet from the garage and took off. About halfway there I started feeling this scratching inside my helmet. I had no idea what it was until I saw a tiny bit of movement from the corner of my eye. I then realized that there was a spider INSIDE my helmet. I then proceeded to flip out for a solid 30 seconds before pulling over to the side of the road and yanking the helmet off my head. After another 2 minutes of freaking out I wiped out the inside of my helmet and went back to my house were I took a 30 minute shower." That's as best I can remember it as it's been a good 2-3 years since I last heard that tale of creepy-ness. Screw spiders.

Most I ever heard was the story of a friend telling a cop not to smoke near a gas pump. It's not quite as bad as an idiot doing that but still.
It reminds me of the gasoline fight in 'zoolander' right before one of his model friends decides to light his cigarette accidentally igniting all of them except zoolander.

This reminds me of the time I went to fill up my car at the local petrol station and found they were setting up their annual staff party, a barbecue.
I rang the fire brigade who went round and gave them some trenchant advice.

Good hell, were they planning on using themselves as the meat dish?
A friend of mine was once gassing up his lawn mower in a shed. The next thing he knew, there were flames all around. It turns out if you pour gas around something plastic in an enclosed area, static electricity gets generated and the gasoline fumes can ignite.

On the other hand, spiders are our friends. I prefer to see a spider crawling my wall than a fething mosquito.

I like spiders.
In the UK, small spiders are considered lucky (money spiders) while in Japan, any size of spider is considered lucky in the morning, and unlucky in the afternoon.
Last week there was a massive spider about two inches across than every night crept into my personal lavatory through the open window, so in the morning I had to grab it up and chuck it out again, but it came back the next day twice. Sadly I did not win the lottery. In the end I had to take it to the other side of the courtyard garden, because the wife was complaining, and so far it has not come back.
I find the ability of spiders to float on threads fascinating. I have caught spiders floating across the River Thames while I was on a boat. It's astonishing they can float over 50 yards of river. This ability must be related to their ability to stretch threads over massive gaps in order to create webs.
