Ravenwing Black Knights (these are FA not Elites HOW?!)

They're both.
The Black Knight Squad is FA, the Ravenwing Command Squad is Elites.
Both the BK Squad and the RWCS should be in Elites though.

I did! After suffering through multiple editions of bottom tier codexes, you have no idea how happy it made me to realize that Black Knights are a pretty reasonable pick here. If I had thought about this a bit more I might have nominated something else, because BKs just by themselves aren't all that insanely OP. The RW Command Squad with a bunch of Independent Characters from different armies has the potential of being game-breaking, even to the point of making Dboy cri evri tiem. If this survey had been about unit combos within a codex, I would have nominated RWCS + Darkshroud for sure, 2+ rerollable jinks are pretty tasty.

I put the RW command squad rather than black knights. Just because the apothecary gives them that little bit extra staying power. "Oh I finally failed one of my rerollable jink saves, now I have feel no pain"

That would be redundant and BKs fit a Fast Attack anyway.

Don't believe me? It's all in the numbers.
Number 1: That's terror.
Number 2: That's terror.

They're all just Black Knights to me, but indeed the Command Squad is the real star of the codex.

Hehe, finally failed? A Heldrake and a flying Daemon Prince with a Burning Brand of Skallathrax was all I needed to wipe out a Ravenwing force of darkshrouded Black Knights at 1500. Had a Predator and Forgefiend in cover spamming the landspeeders while Plague Marines hid from the battle and waited till it was all over racking up objective points in the meantime. Even getting shot by 15+ bikers with twin-linked wasn't enough to take out the flyers.

Since Jink saves became meta mainstream, everyone should be running some Ignores Cover. Luckily I have two units with AP3 flamers that fly.

It's called a thick skin. The Jersey born have it innately.

On moon miranda.

Not every army has AP3 ignores cover weapons, particularly ones that are very hard to engage. That's something of a unique specialty that Chaos has.

The idea that every army should just routinely be bringing tons of Ignores Cover presupposes that they have it available (not all armies do) and that it's actually worth functional (e.g. IG Hellhounds aren't exactly going to be giving Ravenwing fits) and not coming at the cost of some other vitally critical capability, which are not assumptions that always hold true.

In previous editions units with extremely powerful cover save abilities typically couldn't get rerolls, and even if they could, typically didn't have armor & toughness worth much, stuff like Eldar Pathfinders that could sit in Ruins with 2+ cover saves and Fortune. If you got *any* Ignores Cover weapon near them, they evaporated, a basic 5pt Flamer could wipe the entire unit. Now with units that are T5 with 3+ saves, that gets to be rather more...difficult, to deal with.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Heldrakes are why I don't ever run pure RW strike forces. I like taking a CAD too so I can get some obsec scouts and a Sicaran with Sarosh LoG. The fortification slot can be nice too for some extra AA. The problem with just having a Sicaran for those drakes is that it's not going to make them jink, you have to kill them in one volley.
