Is 'Eavy Metal Calling?

@Warington: Yep, I painted him up so that if I use the Priest Excelsior scroll from Silver Tower I have a counts-as Gryph Hound to deploy alongside him.

@DiscoKing: Cracking stuff, the two-tone scheme really suits those models!

Oh man, these are looking AWESOME! I do think a fine edge highlight on the red, at least where the light would catch could make the red pop more :-)

Thanks man

They are infact all edge highlighted but the lighting/crappy camera just doesn't show it well

They are looking awesome! It's fine line with the Undead stuff, you don't want to highlight too much...they are supposed to be dead and dirty. You also want them to pop!

I accidentally picked up the Weirdnob last night, totally not because I could play it in Silver Tower which might follow me home Saturday or because I think the Ironjawz are the bestest army I've seen to come out of GW. Oh no, of course not. I thought it would be fun to take a couple of pictures of the sprues and share some size comparisons with the class.

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

I played a game against my buddy last weekend and he had the new orruk models alongside his 'old' OnG and they didn't look out of place at all imo. Awesome models too

This thread is super intimidating for mere mortals... I have been slowly making my way through a backlog of maybe 120 assorted Hobbit/LotR models (true-scale 28mm, so paint up VERY quickly), and suddenly I come home and the wife has ordered....

- Thunderbeast Host (Engine of the Gods, Oldblood on Carnosaur, Stegadon, and 3-Ripperdactyles

- Additional 3 Ripperdactyles

- 30 Saurus Guard

- Skink Starpriest

- Skink Priest

- Astrolith Banner

- 20 Chameleon Skinks

Sigh.... I guess i'm going to need to combined powers of Matt and Para if those are going to see the gaming table before the summer is out. :-p

Now that I've moved, the great rebasing can begin. I have an O&G and Chaos army circa 6th-7th neither of which were well suited to the direction 8th took. I'm excited to get them both on the table in AoS and ST. Chaos especially as it was a very combined arms force between the three flavours of Chaos which were later split.

That's not a bad idea. My plan for my Nurgle Legion is for it to primarily be a large slaves to darkness army woth Nurgle Daemons beast men and some Blight kings mixed in

Well, I decided to give it a fling (we are likely just going to convert everything to use the LotR ruleset anyways, since AoS also uses round bases might as well try it out).
I have rebased my Dwarfs and my Night Goblin clan (which was easy because they weren't glued to their bases yet ).
I also rebased my Island of Blood High Elves and Skaven (who were glued to their bases). The swordmasters went really easy, but the seaguard was a pain. I cut off a lot of foots but I managed to repair most of the damage. The Skaven on the other hand were not so lucky, a lot of them are ruined now.
Plastic cement is totally awesome, but maybe it is a bit too good at what it does. The bond is stronger than the actual surrounding plastic in many cases. Not very handy when you need the parts to seperate again.
I am kinda happy now that I never glued most of my fantasy models to their bases

Awesome armies!!!.

I have a project it's not a model thing but I am trying to make a rules for 40k with the AOS rules as its base. Some changes but nothing crazy just adding in armor. Working on SM, Guard Chaos SM, and Tyranids.

Age of Emperor is here. Guard your 7th ed rulebooks, this could get frisky.

Close Age of the Imperium lol. I know there is mixed feelings on this topic but I'm trying to make it different then AOS and less of a complexity then 40k. Oh and don't forget balanced.

I need help with my Silver Tower Stormcast. I'm using a SW head on him and it looks really good, but I could glue it on in two different ways and BOTH look really cool.

Pose A, the heroic sword swinger and the models' standard pose. Downside is that the shield arm looks a bit awkward from the front

Pose B, the advancing tank. Looks really good IMO, very menacing, but the fit of the joint is not as good and the pics don't really show how aggressive he looks when mst of him is blocked by the shield and only an angry face and a sword stick out.

Damn. Hard choice. My initial choice was A, but B looks cool as well.

I would say A for Silver Tower, but B is you are going to use it with other Sigmarines for Age of Sigmar game play.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

I really like B. That is what I would go with.

I'd go B, but if possible bring the shield fully vertical rather than tilted, it better suits the advancing pose Not sure how easy that would be, my guess would be cut the arm horizontally just above the elbow then tilt the whole thing further up. Any detail you'd have to cut would in theory be covered by the shield anyway.

Just got Silver Tower. Does that count toward Age of Sigmar as well, even though I am just using it for Silver Tower?

If by that you mean 'do we want to see pics of snazzy new models once you've painted them up' then absolutely! 'In all seriousness, I'm sure it counts!

Speaking of Silver Tower, if anyone (preferably inside the UK) who's bought it and isn't a Stormcast fan is looking to get rid of the Knight Questor at a sensible price or in exchange for some comission work, please let me know! I don't want to add a full Stormcast contingent to my army just yet, but the KQ's fluff is suited to being a 'lone wolf' type addition.

Stormcast look AMAZING alongside Freeguild models too in my opinion. You really get the feeling of them being Demi-gods when you have some little guys to compare them with - and they almost give off a similar vibe to the awesome inquisimunda projects with true scale marines alongside deviants and other scum.

Oops, I'm going a bit off tangent.

Yeah I'd love to see WHQ:ST projects posted in here.

Yeah, I definitely plan a sizeable contingent of Stormcast at some point, but so far in my alliance I want to get the 'big 3' of Elves, Men and Dwarves represented before I branch out into the more fantastical stuff. After those, it's on to Undead Totally-Not-Bretonnian-What's-A-Bretonnian, Stormcast and maaaybe some greenskins...

And at that point you might as well flesh out those awesome Skaven you were doing so you have an army for each of the Grand Alliances :-)
