Was the Ghost also reported as "On the Boat"? It's what's showing on the website right now. Do we know how long between that and in stores, normally?

Yes, the whole of Wave 8 was On The Boat, and due to the vagaries of ocean travel, customs, dock workers etc, there's likely not a consistent time between that and shipping to stores.

About 2 months is probably ball park though.

And besides, I think El Nino means the tradewinds are slower, so the sails aren't as full, I guess?

Good one.

Although Amazon lists them as available on Febraury 26th. Just in time to shake things up during the Store Championships.

You can't ever go by what Amazon says for X-Wing release dates. They just make them up.

Not just X-Wing. It seems that any time a product doesn't have a set street date, they'll just pull something out of their arse.

Heard a rumour that stuff had reached Europe but was still making it's way over to America. How true this is I do not know.

Hmm BoardGameExtras just updated their expected release date for Wave 8, from "Early March" to "End of March" and they are usually one of the first companies to get stock in the UK.

I wonder if there are some simultaneous release shenanigans going on..

I have a store champ on March 19th, and the drop date from Lion Rampant is supposedly March 17th. Since I don't think I'll have enough free time in those two days, I'll just be surprised by new stuff? Joy...

As a TO, I'm glad that they won't be arriving BEFORE my Store Championship this weekend. Still, very excited to see them on the shelf though.
Now... Imperial Veterans.... PLEASE!

My local store is saying 17th as well now. About time, he did say that it wasn't clear if Imperial Veterans was amongst the deliveries.

It is not, at least I don't think it is.

I do hope Imperial Veterans is part of a wider Wave 9.

Expansions like Imperial Veterans and Aces aren't considered parts of waves and are generally released as soon as they're ready.

Ah. And Here I was thinking we were getting an advanced taste of Wave 9. Shucks.

They may add it along with wave 8. After all, we already did get the Force Awakens ships that are technically part of the wave. That would leave it a bit light.

No, they won't. Aces packs, Huge ships, and core sets are not part of waves and they never have been. FFG hasn't given us any reason to think otherwise with Imperial Veterans.

Also, outside of the TFA ships, Wave 8 has four other expansions in it (including one expansion with two ships). Four expansion packs has been more or less the standard wave, outside of Wave 5 which had only two.

Plus I vaguely remember Imperial Veterans already had its status change to "At the Printer" awhile back. We would have seen previews of other Wave IX boxes if Imperial Veterans was part of Wave IX.

Which gives me hope I won't have to wait until Wave XI to get some Scum love for the Scyk/Starviper.

Hang times generally 6-12 months, so my guess is no. Will probably hit sometime this summer.

Both of the previous Aces packs had a five month window from when they were announced until they hit the street.

May is a possibility, but I definitely wouldn't be surprised it takes longer.

Overclocked R4 from the Jumpmaster box has been spoiled.

As has the reference card for dual upgrades.

So "adaptability" is in fact free +1 PS (or -1 I guess, if you really want), doesn't change during game.

Edit like a million: Thermal Detonators have been spoiled, but I can't find an actual card pic. Dropped on maneuver reveal, detonates at the end of the activation phase. Deals 1 damage and 1 stress token to each ship at range 1.

Not sure how I like the new R4- overall I think I'd rather spend the extra point for the Agromech, which doesn't stress me, and gives me a target lock which will last for a while. There aren't really any ships who can take an unhinged mech where I'd want to stress myself for defensive focus.

Dual cards have some interesting applications. Say I'm running Vader and a PS 8. Not only do I save a point, but in games where my opponent does not have a PS 9, or bids more for the initiative with a PS 10, I can drop Vaders PS to have more control over which ace I move first. Take a bit of a hit vs. PS 10-11, but make big games vs PS 8 or less.
