Considering that DA characters are generally named after angels etc. I vote for Cassiel, the angel of solitude and tears. I think it is quite fitting because he held his ground all by himself and undoubtedly caused the CSM player to cry a little bit inside.

I had a red scorpion apothecary hold on a against a squad of wracks that had assaulted him in turn 3. While the rest of my army was destroyed by the dark eldar, he was the only one to survive and prevent me from being tabled. He lasted until the end of turn 7, and won me the game on objectives. Up to this point he had made an obscene number of armour/fnp saves and punched multiple wracks to death.

Was a slightly pyrrhic victory though, as not a single one of my other models survived. All killed or carted off to the dark city...

Insane model survival.. hmm. Well for that my Necron Overlord was about to lose his ride to heavy weapons fire, so I disembarked him and had him wade through a ridiculous amount of Cultist Heavy Stubber and auto rifle shots. Followed by him killing their champion and a few others. The remaining dozen or so cultists broke and were caught up in a sweeping advance.

I definitely going with that one. My only idea was Brother Sergant 'I don't roll 1s or 2s!'

For the greater good...

I had a terminator survive 150+ pulse rifle shots. He was Iron hands with an attached Librarian giving him 3+ FnP. My Tau friend was screaming at him to die.

I have a reverse survival story -

Any time in 5E and 6E that I used Abaddon, he'd get killed on the turn he deploys. Without exception. Dude never once made a kill.

Sounds like my firemds tesseract vault. Killed more of his army than mine

6th ed: My Tau vs CSM/CD, after a few rounds of getting shot from some CSM I have one fire warrior left on the very top floor of a 3 lvl building. 5 deamonettes are climbing up the ruins to get the kill point for the squad. They charge, he overwatches one which makes them fail thier charge, next turn, lone FW jumps from the top of the building, makes his armor for dangerous terrain, drops 2 of the deamonettes. Next turn, they change direction now running back down the building, lone FW moves away, drops another during the shooting phase, they chage, drops one in overwatch, then proceeds to beat the last deamonette to death with his pulse rifle. Good times.

I also had a squad of 6 FW's beat a 10 man squad of khorne CSMs in CC and then sweeping advance them without losing a man (granted, the next turn they could not repeat that against his termi-lord and 4 other CSM termies, who cut them down like grass in a single round of combat)

During my first apocalypse game, I was playing Tau with DA allies vs IG and CSM. Turn 3, I deep strike my three man Stealth Suit team and two drones behind an IG artillery to destroy it, but fail by one HP. The nearby Daemon Prince charges them and destroys the two drones. What proceeds was the longest slap fight between a model with an AP2 weapon vs a unit without an invulnerable save and the most embarrassing combat of that Daemon Prince's career as they stayed lock in combat for the rest of the game.

My first or second game ever, it was fourth edition. I was running 1000 points of footslogging Sisters; my opponent had a Smurf Heavy Bolter spam list. All my Sisters were wiped out before I got close enough to fire a single shot, except for the Canoness. She survived against 1000 points for the rest of the game! She only killed three or four of them, but they could not bring her down.

Thereafter, she had a reputation in the group. Everyone feared her WAY more than they needed to and would be consistently surprised when a S3 T3 model would prove to die really easy

This weekend, I had Draigo, 4 Paladins, and an Inquisitor with a Hammer all smashing Magister Sevrin Loth for two turns. Draigo and company had both Prescience and Force activated, and Loth just kept making his 2++ invul save. Something like 20 or more, lol. It was pretty epic, and won my opponent the game.

In a fit of rage, Draigo ran back to the warp and O.D.'ed on warp dust.

I played a large game back in 5th where my marshal was the only thing left alive after surviving a ridiculous amount of shooting and was trying to run down a voidraven since they were the only two models left on the table.

On a much less epic note, my GK librarian killed himself with his combi-plasma almost every game I played with him in a zone mortalis campaign.

Relic game CSm Vs Taus.

Long story short, the Tau codex was brand new, in the final turns things took a turn for the worse for me, even though i managed to exerminate 75% of his army, my last 2 turns din't go quite well and i'm down with only 4 models; A Zerker Champ and 2 Zerkers, a CSm Champ and a Defiler with 2 HP.

My CSM CHamp is alone with the relic in a ruin with some LoS blocking terrain, forcing the Tau Firewarriors to make a detour to get him if they wanted to claim the Relic.

Champ killed a Shasui earlier and got multi boons; FnP and +1T.

3 fire warriors units and one of those missiles things that don't need LoS shot at him...

After the smoke and rubble did settle down, you could hear a Warcry rising to the skies in defiance calling out those Xenos cowards, with the champ banging his fist on his Chest armor and making suggestive and offensive gesture to the Xenos scum while still holding the relic.

That single Champ not only survived to the frustration of the Tau player, but won me the game, he got a promotion.
