I am eagerly waiting for a new FSE-book and the Mont'ka book.

Considering what kind of forces terra send out to the damocles gulf after getting aware of the problems there we have some options of what those books might include. Kauyon says the imperium is about to reclaim Agrellan and warfleets had already been dispatched. "Countless regiments of Astra Militarum, orders of the Adepta Sororitas, and macro-level war cohorts from the Adpetus Mechanicus were inbound."

So, Astra Militarum is in dire need of a seventh edition upgrade including formations and all the stuff they are currently missing, and why on earth would they mention the sisters if not for a release? Could they really be so cruel as to use those old models again and release absolutely nothing new for them? Oh come on!

I would not be surprised if AM received an updated codex in a similar fashion to what the Tau Empire received. I think that GW is less interested in changing the rules in a book so much as adding new units and formations that drive sales of the models.

I would be surprised if they received that.

The book is trash. There's entire units with no model options--and if we know anything about GW, that means either they get models or they get trashed.

I got the Kauyon book. It is very nice. I look forward to the next one, even though the Imperium is going to get stomped.

Any news if there will be any other space marine chapters represented? I've realized that after Kauyon the following chapters have rules:

At the moment? On Armageddon.
I want chapter upgrade sprues for the WS and RG. And the others as well.

At the rate we are getting Supplements and addons to Marines, their next codex will be a 2 book set- one for the fluff and photo galleries, and one for the units, formations, and chapter specific detachments, Warlord traits, and relics.

Sallies already got all GW will probably give them (Unfortunately). 6 unique Tactical Objectives 1 or 2 WDs before the one that gave CFs/BTs their Warlord Traits.
Basically you have as much as CFs.

More from K'Vor

Spoiler:
Pre-orders are that weekend (21st) for Mont'ka. Farsight codex is Feb 2016.

Q1\2 next year also sees a bit more for Tau, campaign-wise.

So Farsight isn't a nebulous Q1, now, but Feb. And maybe a WZD III+?

A new image surfaced of a new Blood Angels Death Company Chaplain that allegedly will be coming out around the same time as the Mont'ka book. Which is weird since I didn't think that the Blood Angels served in the Damocles Crusade. But, if they end up getting new stuff in the Mont'ka book, I will be all over it. The image for the Chaplain is below. Weird since only Lemartes is a DC Chaplain.

I think that's meant to be him, the old figure needs to be replaced at some point with plastic, now seems as good a time as any.

Lemartes uses a Bolt Pistol, not an Inferno Pistol. Still, definitely buying this and using it as Lemartes if I can find space for him in a Baal Strike Force. Maybe they will have Blood Angels in the Mont'ka book. Would be bizarre, but I could dig it if it meant fixing Blood Angels.

Indeed. There are images showing Captain Karlaen next to him. I wonder if the Karlaen miniature will be getting a general release. Regardless, this mini is very awesome. But it is also extremely weird.

it is extremely wierd...
i love half of the design, and can't stand the other half...

the wings are too small, and look like they belong to a Swooping Hawk...
Sang. Guard wings will save the day...

the muscle bits on only half the body are annoying, but filling them in will give me a chance to practice my sculpting...
sculpting the belly plates and leg trim will be the trickiest bit...

i love the gorget, the helmet, Chaplain shoulder pad, the Crozius, and the left side of the armor...
i'll definitely be grabbing this guy...
he's gonna need some work, though...

thanks for posting that preview!!!

cheers

I'm with Jah on this one. The wings are really bizarre -- they are thematically "blood angels" I guess, but they don't fit, IMO. I think I will use prosecutor wings

I am definitely not a fan of the head, but the shoulder pad that we see is really cool,as is the crozius. I agree that half the model in muscles and half in armor looks like he has MPD I'll buy the model regardless, because I have like, every other Blood Angels model. Sadly, in terms of the game, he has an infernus pistol :(

Edit --

Oh, just saw it on Bell of Lost Souls, with some additional details of the side and back and such - I like him better now!

Erm.... of much greater importance... this fella is rumored to be part of the Mont'ka campaign release. Along with Imperial Assassins as clampacks, and I guess, Karlaen, since he's in the adjacent page. Sooooooo.....

Will there be some Blood Angels love in the Mont'ka book?? Their own super-formation maybe? I would be so happy!! Blood Angels. GIMME!!

If they release a campaign box of Blood Angels and include this guy in it rather than release him separately, I will be a little pissed. I actually like the smaller wings. I want BA in the Mont'ka book.

I wonder if this is a sign of sales of Blood Angels models floundering due to them being screwed over by being the last normal codex release, not a super codex.

Yeah, this is such a bizarre model to have coming out. Have the Blood Angels ever engaged the Tau?

that would have been cooler...
now i'm sad...
thanks...

i do have plenty of Raven Guard conversions in mind, since i have Sanguinary Guard minis coming out my ears...
that old LE Sicarius with the twin claws is just screaming out for a MKIV jump pack and some wings to make a better Shrike...
also a landing , ground-crushing, version of Shrike with the old Devastator legs, Vanguard claws and MKVI helmet, and Sang. Guard pack and wings would be cool...
i guess i'll have to build a Chaplain, too...

I'm sure they have at some point in the fluff.

edit: There are references in both the 40k wikis. Apparently the BA are a part of the Achillus crusade from the RPGs and fought the tau there. More important though is that there is at least one company active in the Damocles Gulf vs the Tau.

'The Mourned'? Sounds like a Death Company type of name. Maybe they're bringing back a way for Blood Angels to field a full Death Company army

Most of the information from the Shield of Baal seems to indicate only the First and Second Companies were back in the Cryptus system. There could still be several Battle Companies assisting with other endeavors. But yeah, I thought the same thing.

Automatically Appended Next Post:

It is just a release of the Chaplain and a solo release of Captain Karlaen. So probably no rules update or anything of the sort. Which is a shame. Notice it doesn't even call him Captain Karlaen, just a Blood Angels Captain in Terminator Armor. Very disappointing.

However, this could be a good sign as they are releasing miniatures that were once limited edition in standard release. This could be a way for people that missed miniatures they wanted to grab them. Hopefully they release the Strike Force Ultra Captain as well.

Still, $33 for that Chaplain seems a bit high. Oh well, he looks way too awesome to pass up. I wish that Lemartes was a HQ not an Elite. Four elite slots and I still don't have room for the guy. I will build that Chaplain with a Bolt Pistol instead of an Inferno Pistol and call it Lemartes. I already have a Jump Pack Chaplain, so this one needs to be special.

For $4 more, you can get 10 similarly sized figures with heads, decorations, and weapons to customize another 10 figures. A "bit" high for a single monopose plastic mini at $33? When you can get a multisprue tank like the rhino for a few bucks more? There is no relation between quality or quantity and price with GW anymore. They price things only according to what folks like yourself are willing to pay. In 8th edition, we'll welcome in the dawn of $40 plastic monopose scout sergeant special characters if this continues.

This one figure costs as much as a squad of Sanguinary Guard. Still, he is pretty awesome and unique.
