PS: I'm also thinking about turning this into 40k Zombicide if the Overkill rules aren't good/easy to grasp for young relatives or noobs. I'd just need scans of ZC boards and cards to photoshop them to 40k gear and print it all. But I have only BP oming up (I didn't get wave 1 stuff), so no machine gun stats :doh

Seeing these models makes me think of that scene in Conan the Barbarian, where Thulsa Doom is preaching at the top of the ziggurat and is killed by Conan. Now do a character swap and have Kirby as Thulsa Doom and Rountree as Conan... That's what's just happened at GW lol.

That's why it always annoys me when a certain few at this place accuse me (and others) of always being down on GW. I have always had, and made no secret of the fact that that I have a strong 'credit where credit's due' policy. Sigmarines? Dwyrf Fyrslyrs? Utter garbage.

The board looks like it is individual rectangular tiles- you can see the edges. The tail also gives him the same profile as the stealer cult glyph.. does look a wee bit odd though.

That Patriarch is awesome. This is a very tempting release.

Got to say this is the best GW release I've seen in a long time. I've always liked the fluff behind GC but always thought the models looked very of their time but GW have definitely gone above and beyond with this box.

Come on, Alien is THE inspiration for ´stealers, gotta have one with a tail thrusted between it's legs, ready to seed the galaxy with corruption. Poor Lambert.


On GW kits in general, I agree that thy still do great stuff. The Blightking box has so many nice things. Compare that to the Wrathmongers from the same time. Urgh. The Kings are so expensive that I only got a few bits from resellers, though, so there's still that with GW's current offerings.

PS: Plastic SoBs? Is the world going to end soon? If you can build the classic SoB-with-heavy-bolter. Or multiples of her I chose a good time to try and get my brother into Kill Team, I think. So many great releases that I never thought would be seen (again). Perfect to make many small warbands.

The Genestealer Cult models seem a bit light in numbers, since they have 11 Deathwatch Marines to contend with. The quality makes up for the lack of numbers though.

It'll be interesting to see how this ties in with taking a larger Genestealer Cult force in 40K. They've fleshed out the range far more than I would have dared dream already. If they release more models in a few months time to supplement what you get in the board game I'll be very happy.

Getting a bit ahead of myself here though. Gotta get my hands on the board game first!

I love the sex-tail pose of the patriarch, I see a nod to the old cult symbol. I mean the cultists worship it, obviously they are going to have its likeness on their flag!

According to the leaker on tg there are 39 cultists, 11 deathwatch, 8 double sided board tiles, 44 cards, a ruler, six dice and a rule book. The boards do look like the ones from the assassins game though. He also confirmed the price as £100.

Yeap, buying two. The game might be pretty fun too, I hope it comes with a couple of scenarios to run the forces through.

The fields on the tiles are larger than the SH ones though. 40mm bases now fit.

50 figures of this quality (even if I don't like all the marines) for £2 each? This will be my first GW spend excepting paints since Space Hulk - well done to whoever at GW put this together - more of this and you'll win a customer back.

It feels increasingly more likely that Adepta Sororitas stuff will be revamped after seeing the Genestealer Cult stuff here.

Assuming it's not been lost in translation here, 8 tiles is a lot of space when you consider there's a biker and jump pack marines in the Kill Team, as well as a terminator teleport beacon.
