Actually, we had that exact theme in a couple of polls last year, it made it through two rounds but never got voted in. It'll probably come around again in future, but I am trying to avoid repeats in the first year (so I'll add it to the list of potentials for March's challenge)

Actually yes, ironically as an IG player, I have nothing that fits that I need to paint.
It would get voted in though, as past polls demonstrate, regardless of entrants, folk like an epic title.

Yes most of us probably have those large models or large groups of models laying around, but it can be daunting to paint them and it may scare some people away. Same goes for dioramas.

Hmm.. I really liked the idea and a fair few people seemed quite enthusiastic over the page... It would definitely be a one-off, there's not going to be a trend of requiring larger and larger entries, but at the same time, I don't want to exclude anyone if at all possible... I'll think on it, see if I can adapt the idea a little before the poll goes up.

What about "A love/hate relationship" - paint the model that has been most neglected or forgotten about to show them you love them for valentine's day

My only problem with "clones" is as a newbie, I literally do not have any generic squads left to paint, and what figures I do have are not similar enough to pass as "clones" (for example, my commissar squad is 11 wildly different figures).

I could strip and redo some IG, but in all honesty, five tabletop Mordians barely get my engines running, and they're my figures.

"By the numbers" or some variation? That way there's literal and less direct interpretations. I don't know. :s

Worst comes to worst I'll give it a pass, some months I didn't finish when I had one thing to do.

my problem with clones is I just painted 120 skavenslaves, a bunch of plague monks, and I'm working on my son's necron warriors :p I'm a bit tapped out. Polls are fun anyways.

I have 2 6mm SU-25s coming that would work for both themes while not being large.

How thick are they? I have seen chunky ones and frankly they distracted too much. These look good!

1.5mm rounds from litko. I don't like the 3 mm variants either. You may can find thinner but I have had so much luck.

Your end of the pond you may consider... Think it's called fenris or Fenrir games ..if they're still around or whatever. Maybe back2baseics or whatever they're called.

Very nice! Like them a lot as well

I also love clear bases (for my RPG games); I hadn't thought about their use on a movement tray or display tray - that's an awesome idea!

@Grim: I'm afraid I'll have to say it's just the 5 models that are eligible, but feel free to post some more pics of those 5 and I'll add those to the OP.

Poll will probably go up later today.

Travellin' through space is boring. Well, boring unless da hulk yer on is full of dem gene-sneakers, or a base fer da chaos lads wiv da spikes, or already has Boyz on it. Or if humie lootas come callin', that's always good fer a bit a sport. Or unless yer have a mutiny or two to pass da time, or unless strange fings start happenin', which dey usually do when yer out in da warp. One time we had some bloody great ugly fing come straight out of Weird Lugwort's 'ed! It butchered half da lads, that was pretty entertainin'. Come ter fink of it, space is a pretty good larf. And that's before yer find yerself a nice world ta crush!~Bigmaw

Will try to get some better pictures tomorrow, when there's actually daylight. Assuming I don't notice some detail I've missed first...

I believe Buttery threw a gauntlet for a primarch challenge?!

I think some daylight pics would help. Right now I can only really see the base.
And I did, though I'm not doing the entire base, as I'm buying Manus tomorrow, and want to do the bases at the same time.
