I vote Angelic visage/ruggedly handsome and would you like to be my enemy as contenders

How about 'Attack of the Clones' for a theme. 2-5 models of the same kind (Tactical Marines, Orc warriors, Termangants ect). I think that gives scope for people to both experiment with individuality between similar models while also requiring some consistency. Would the 2-model minimum be a problem for anyone?

Sounds a great idea to me. It would provide me with some much-needed motivation to get started on my squad of Lootas, and I bet there's others who are in the same boat!

Not that I want to call you out or anything Para, but are you saying you've taken your proof pics before getting the squad partially finished, before the month has started? I'm not sure you know how proof pics work then, good friend

Also, attack of the clones works for me I guess - was kind-of hoping to find a way to shoehorn Trev into next months contest though

attack of the clones sounds good. I don't think I can finish this months entry because of my upcoming move, as well as the other projects I did that've been whisking away my attention.

Attack of the clones seems to be popular. Was hoping to veer away from squads for a short while. See what I can muster enthusiasm for if it wins

@Grim - that would definitely be funny if it wins

And of course, I've been an idiot. How much more clone-like can you get than Necron Toasters? (sorry, Warriors - that was for you Januine!) That would actually be great to get done. Interested to see the vote results now

I imagine you must be keen to be off squads. I was trying to swap between big model one month and squads the next. I'm painting on a smaller scale though and want to keep the "chore" element away as much as possible

feth it, I am painting Trevor - even if I have to paint two of them at the same time (I bought one for myself, it is in worse shape, and is brand new from Valiant)

I mean actually this is pretty atypical for me. I've done a few batches last year, but it was mostly solos or really easy to paint mobs like zombies. This year alone all 24 models I've painted belong to two separate entities, and that's it. 10 US Ariadna ranger force dudes, and 14 orcs. But I do have Azazelx's monthly challenge thing to consider, which is basically a unit/month so.. yeah. I would not, strictly speaking, be opposed to a squad theme

I wouldn't mind seeing something like "Death from Above": basically anything that flies. It could be an aircraft or a guy with a jetpack of some kind, or perhaps a diorama of someone jumping down onto his enemy from above them. Might give me an excuse to paint my Hellturkey!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

My nefarious plan, foiled again! I would have got away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!

Nah, they were all started and photographed in the last week or so (except the Standard Bearer, who I wouldn't be entering as I started last year), I just didn't post the Proofs here as I wasn't sure whether they'd turn out well enough to enter. But the two done so far are promising enough, if I can get another couple done then I'll just throw them in in the absence of anything else.

There will be a special exemption from theme if you want to paint Trevor! From what I understand, that mini is a law unto himself already!

I really need to paint up my next squad of 30 boyz.. attack of the clones might fit me very well.

Though 'here comes the boom' sounds good too, I've been wanting to convert some tankbustas and paint up my shokk attack gun. Either will help motivate me to be honest =)

I keep changing the colours on this thing and it seems to be working.

Also, new basing method - looks pretty good.

Bonus sneaky shot of trevs base too - that came out really well

Actually yes, ironically as an IG player, I have nothing that fits that I need to paint.
It would get voted in though, as past polls demonstrate, regardless of entrants, folk like an epic title.

As for next months theme, I think we should try our best to stick to something that most people could do a single miniature for, if we get too extravagant or require dioramas or large models (like flyers) I think it will alienate people.

Yes most of us probably have those large models or large groups of models laying around, but it can be daunting to paint them and it may scare some people away. Same goes for dioramas.

How about "Only a scratch!" or "Only a flesh wound!" (Though that is more exclusionary of non organic themes)?
