I think "Samaritan" might be tongue-in-cheek... that was also the name of Hellboy's hand cannon in the movies.

Kinda' like calling someone a "choirboy". They usually aren't.

"Kanren" are a new YJ unit. They're basically anti-camo/infiltrators.

I'll totaly buy them for NCA! In Vanilla they're easily aced out by the crocmen.

They seem a complimentary force and not directly competing with anyone. Even with a single AVA they might shine more in vanilla.

Considering the AVA is 1 in vanilla and 2 in NCA...it's hardly spam.

First look at the Kanren Counter-Insurgency Group from Beasts of War.

Here's their fluff:

To watch and monitor all subversive activity the Imperial Service has created the Kǎnrèn (侃刃, Bold Edge) Counterinsurgency Group. This unit is made up of brave men and women that track all kinds of insurgent, subversive, or radical groups that may want to implant themselves in Yu Jing. Their modus operandi is based on undercover infiltration into their ranks to gather information and learn everything necessary about said movements.

Before delivering the blow that will break the group apart, Kǎnrèn operators identify and locate all of its leaders and members, as well as their sources of financing, support networks, and allies. In this manner, they ensure the insurgent movement is completely destroyed without any possibility of regrouping, guaranteeing the security of the StateEmpire.

However, the work of these men and women is not easy, having to act without any support protecting their covers, and on numerous occasions revealing their identity as law enforcement agents prematurely in order to avoid a catastrophe. That is the type of operations they must fulfill: one of them against all of them. These operatives are therefore specialized in close combat and urban combat techniques.

Just saw this list of discontinued SKUs for infinity. It's mostly old and known stuff, but there is some interesting new stuff. I'm only really familiar with the Yu Jing line but it looks like Celestial guard will have an SWC box on it's way soon. It also looks like they're getting rid of the Pheasant, Keisotsu and Zanshi models that duplicate what's in the starter sets.

The list isn't just showing new stuff that's being removed, it's showing everything, hence the Celestial guard being listed. I noticed that the Ahl Fassed is listed. I'm not surprised. If they aren't removed all together, it would be nice to see their stats changed up a bit to differentiate them more from the Janissaries.

Kanren, a decent enough mini-- nothing spectacular, but wow, someone went a bit overboard with the weathering powder on those boots. Looks like the photographer ( presumably Bostria) used Warsenal terrain for the backdrop.
