Geckos aren't exactly big. Ever seen one in person?

No, but you can tell how much smaller the Taskmaster is if you look at photos of both and see how much of the base they're taking up. The geckos feet come right to the edge of the base. The taskmaster is a lot smaller.

You're not factoring in the pose.

Taskmaster has a pose which is very closed; the standard 'running forward' pose that CB likes to do.
The Gecko has an open pose, with the legs sprawled slightly to the sides for the aiming look.

The Geckos aren't as big as you seem to think they are. I have a pair of them and they're not so big as to make me immediately discredit the idea of Taskmasters being roughly the same size.

The gecko shooting with both arms has its legs posed very similarly to the taskmaster. It takes up a lot more of the base. If anything the taskmasters legs are more spread as he's running, and the Gecko is just standing. The Taskmaster doesn't look much bigger than a Yan Huo.

Here is how big he is compared. I you went to the source article (should have been linked - http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2016/09/infinity-exclusive-taskmasters-bakunin-swast-team.html) it would have been seen.

Spoiler:

This is a S6 Gecko with a S6 Devil Dog and S5 K9 Antipode.

The reason the Gecko's feet hang off the edge? Because the toe-caps are like the shoes that Santa's elves wear, alongside of the whole "the pose is exceedingly open".

There's enough room between the legs on the Gecko to fit a S2 model on the base, if the MK12 was not attached.

Since it's a tag and no other weapons are shown in the picture, is it safe to assume we'll never see the other overdron loadouts?

Daaamn that new Garuda looks good. I vould never quite tell what was going on with the design of the original. This new one is so much nicer. You need a hacker or TAG present to field them though, don't you?

Garuda and Taskmaster are this batch's winners for me.

There could be the other weapons in the box. The Maghariba came with both Heavy Pistol and HFT parts.

Especially since the official pic lists no weapon loadout.

The Maghariba came with both Heavy Pistol and HFT parts sure, but that's because of the placement of those items on the TAG itself from what I understand.

The renders showed no other pieces, so you're pretty much set on this being the twin Plasma Snipers.

Looks the same as those in the Red Veil photos. It does seem a bit green-ish though. But that perception could be due to the yellow-orange and green of the uniforms. Josef Albers made quite a study of such phenomena, how colors placed next to other colors influence what we see. Or Bostria needs to adjust the white balance of his camera. Eh.

Rocket-Man Garuda.. I like the mini. That pack is too big though. Taskmaster wins the month, but just barely. That Batroid and his friends... very cool.

A good month. Nothing out of the park good though.

We get the ASA starter in October? Dire Foes 6 in November ( or October?) I think we will see a TAG pilot in October, to kick off the whole "TAG-line" theme for this year's ITS. The O-Yoroi probably?

The Overdron is by far my favourite, I love it. Followed by the Taskmaster and the new Garuda.

I wonder what the odds of the Overdron coming with all 3 weapon options are?

As likely as us seeing Blackjacks for USARF next month.

Which is to say, so exceedingly small that you are more likely to have your house hit by an asteroid infected with a parasitic extraterrestrial lifeform.

It's quite obvious the placement on the Overdron is the shoulder mounts. Wouldn't be hard to put a HRMC and two Missile Launchers with the same shoulder connectors in the box.

The Maghariba only showed one secondary weapons on the render.

Not saying your wrong, just saying it wouldn't be difficult at all and there's now precedent.

I mean, there's been precedent for how long? We had Van Zant with shoulder satchel, Myrmidon Officer with Boarding Shotgun/Combi Rifle...

They've made it clear they do not want to give us too many options.

I agree, I'm only even vaguely entertaining it because I don't think they've listed a weapon in any of these previews.

Yeah.. That's the problem with 28mm scale, you have to exaggerate not only with proportions with body but also edge highlights and skin tone, otherwise it will be hard to notice unless you take the mini's up and look at them closely.

I definitely need to look up 'chest mine' for the Krakot Renegade

Some lovely releases, I've said it before but those Zhanshi really are nice. Glad that the other big faction now has a basic line infantry that can look good opposite the PO Fusiliers.

...perfectly reflects the hard to kill notion that asians are yellow. Which in case you didn't know was a late addition to racism, when some (obviously white) people decided that considering asians to be white couldn't continue as before. So they created the "yellow" addition to black, brown and red skins. Hurray racism

I think that the surrounding colours mainly the teal and yellow trick the eye to exaggerate the "yellowness" of the skin colour.

Yeah, I'm not that color in the mirror unless I've got jaundice. But at least that's just the painter having issues, because if you look at Warlord's Asian miniatures it's a lot of horrifically racist buck toothed slanty eyed Asian stereotypes.

Well if you look at the other recent Yu Jing releases, they do not have such colour issues.

Hey.. They're actually portraying ethnic groups other than white caucasian in their games at least.

Thats something that even the biggest company in the sci-fi and fantasy arena continues to ignore.

You know full well that Angel wouldn't have painted them that colour because "that's what Chinee people are, lol". Look at the rest of the studio painted range..
