Someone will drop pictures later, I'm sure, but new Gang called "Cults" and the first models for it are Kobra, which look amazing. I wonder what other groups would go in with Cults tho? Brother Blood seems like a shoe-in for sure but beyond that?

As mentioned above there is a new faction on its way, the Kobra Terrorist Organization and Cult. Though unlike the above im not seeing anywhere that its falling under a broad blanket of "Cults" though anything is possible, after all we are getting the Kobras.

Sort of a Team situation in which you can alter the troop selection a bit. Also Faith points, which allows for models to act as bodyguards for the Leader.

Any ideas on other potential cults from DC/Batman?

For Cults they could do The Order of St. Dumas, and the previously mentioned Church of Blood.

Doesn’t Trigon have a cult too?

I think that is the Church of Blood.

Ohhhhh that might be an interesting group. Gives us more Azrael which is never a bad thing

Kobra are a really great release with some fun mechanics, I love how they've turned out in the rules. Good self-contained crew with some stuff for the future in Cults, and they don't really have any strictly bad choices either. Definitely considering picking them up, but I already have 2 crews with no paint on them (Grodd and Bane, and I own the whole crews)

Church of blood (Brother/Mother Blood) are separate to the Cult of Trigon. Kobra Cult are great, but I'm worried about yet more rules in the crunchiest game in the world as it is. Cicada Cult is out there in the DCU, which would be interesting and CW-y, Religion of Crime, could maybe see them doing the Srigydae as a way of expanding the Court of Owls also.

So not a terribly large amount of new stuff, mostly bundles. But still pretty neat.

Mildly grumpy about the new model BS, but I'm mostly just glad they didn't kill off the game.

I'm really looking forward to it. I love DCU as a game. Getting a review copy, interested to see how the game's evolved. Being slightly on the inside, I know that the game's had a very long playtest period. Minimum range is Gone so you can now power blast people in the face! Woo. Allegedly Superman has had a major fix. We shall see though because KM

NIce. I still need to give DCU a try, I've mostly been trying to get people I know to play BMG, but getting more powers would be nice.

@Compel, I get the grumpyness. But I guess they needed a lure to get people to get the other models (or they had a surplus).

Man, Knight Models sure do know how to take great photos of their models! I am tempted by the physical rulebook. Are the rules still basically the same as their old Marvel game?

Anyone had any issues with model quality on the newer releases?

I’ve seen people have a number of issues with the resin. Models are usually pock marked to varying degree, and stuff like ankles and Constantine’s smoke are very brittle. Also their sculpts are very two dimensional due to them being one piece models.

Not all the new models are one piece, quite a few are multipart.

I have had some issue with the new models but I was buying almost every new release. The main issue I saw was an incomplete model where a piece of resin must have broken off in the mould previously and not been removed. Knight have improved customer service quite a lot in the last year and if it goes on too long you can usually hurry things up via Facebook messenger.

I've only had issues with some of their initial resin releases. But for the most part the models are fine. The sculpts, even the monopiece ones are pretty ok and even the most boring look better when you have paint on them.

The Cult is very fun, I picked up the box when they first came out and they play nicely.

As for Doom Patrol I was just telling a friend I would like to see them get models.

The resins are good, but take some practice to clean properly. They put a little gate under the chins to make sure the face casts correctly that's easy to miss prior to painting. The models feel frail, but on the whole they're quite nice. I've been pretty thrilled with the Teen Titans box. Also, the Batman game itself is a lot better these days; creeping up my favorites list. Hoping DCU turns out well. The original had a lot of potential but just needed some polish.

Haven’t paid attention to the comic industry in years, did DC swallow up Image/Wildstorm? I know Jim Lee is president of DC(or so I was told).

Yeah looking it up, Grifter has been in DC since at least New 52.

yup, some time ago. Madness. Makes no sense and the character are wasted.

They played a big part in Flashpoint and DC tried to launch them into the DCU proper after, but it didn't really get that much attention.

I do want that Lex. I run him in the suit in a Society list and he'd make a great model for when the suit is disabled.

Currently, or at least most recently, the Wildcats are existing in a side AU to the main canon. They’ve got some of the same names, attached to alternate versions of the characters. Aqua man was a genetic experiment half fish person who was a serial killer. Flash took drugs to run faster and was a serial killer. Hell, most of the DC heroes were messed up serial killers of some form or another.

In other GenCon news, momoa is going to be available from the outset online, penguin is getting bikers, and Watchmen are coming with Dr Manhattan as their objective.

Team rules now include Doom Patrol.
