Apparently Gustavo Cuadrado, the games designer for Knight Models, passed away this week.

They've been teasing some new stuff on their facebook the last few days. From what I've caught it's a Jason Todd Robin model and a LexCorp BattleBox for DCUMG.

Plus the DCUMG repacks of Bat Villains, Crime Syndicate, Justice League, and Justice League Dark that they released last month, since it's been a while for this thread.

That lexbox looks like it includes Metallo which would be a new character for DCUMG

With that Jason coming out, Im one model closer to being able to run an all Robin Crew.

That LexCorp list is what I might have to pick up for DCU.

I really do like the Lexcorp heavy trooper model.

Mostly, on my phone.

Lex is still top-tier as a BMG boss. He's very difficult to run well in DCU - not that he isn't good, he is, just hard to play. Interesting to see how he works in DCU2.

Neat looking Watchmen group, and IIRC Manhattan is their special object in the box.

What kind of rules could Manhattan possibly have? He can literally think the other team out of existence.

He isn't a proper model in game. Like the quantum donkey for the Doom Patrol, he's their objective and probably messes around with the table rather than the opponent

Those Watchmen figures are nicely painted, but I hate boring at rest sculpts for gaming figures.

Are you sure it's Manhattan and not Bubastis? Either way, I suppose you need everything in the Batbox like last edition, correct?

That's an... interesting pose that Owlman is in. Him and Ozy might look good in that kind of diorama-like group shot, but they're going to look a bit strange running around the table like that...

Its taken from DC's Watchmen prequel comics:

Spoiler:

Knight has done more diorama like models since switching to resin. It gives them larger chunks of material to work with and makes for some unique poses and great recreations of comic art, but also puts a lot of random chairs on the battlefield.

Prequel comics? I didn't know about those. Well, I wouldn't have read them anyway; after my miserable experience with the Rising Stars spin-offs I'm pretty sour on prequels and spin-offs to "one and done" stories like Watchmen.

Well, the pose makes much more sense now. Looks like a nice model for display at least.

That Jason Todd Robin sculpt is easily my favorite KM DC figure out there. Damn!! I’m seriously impressed.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I recently got the DC Universe Miniatures Game hardback and I figured I'd highlight some of the changes compared to older versions of the rules. - Some of these were implemented in more recent rules updates and faqs of the PDF versions, apparently, but I don't print out a new rulebook each time I play, so, *shrug*.

* Person with initiative can make the other person go first.

* When a model activates, it must use a non-zero amount of power counters. (so you can't keep it all for defensive things)

* The game will end early if everyone on a team is KO/dead. The standing player gets bonus vp

* You can only use 1 reactive or passive power against an attack.

* Effects are now capped to a certain value over a round. - This includes Stun power counter loss. (NB: I'm sorta confused by this one, but that's what it says, Stun was even the example.)

* Minimum range isn't a thing anymore.

* Knocked down and KO is now a smaller penalty

* Recovering from KO is a lesser penalty than before.

* Thrown items, must try to allocate at least 1 damage to everything in a line of throw.

And then the LexCorp Army everyone has seen.

Eradicator in particular has had a good run in the comics lately. I'm now going to need a Zod crew for him to go with...

I've been out of the comics scene for a while now, I didn't realise Eradicator was still around; for some reason I thought he was killed in the whole "return of Superman" storyline? Although when has that ever mattered in a comic book...

Wasn't expecting this many models to be released for this wave. Will probably grab Watchmen and if they come with BMG cards, the Lexcorp group.

Cryptic video put up on FB today, ends with "III" which most posters have taken to imply 3rd Edition may be coming.

While Im not entirely opposed to a 3rd Edition, it would be very soon after the release of 2nd and I can't come up with any big issues with the game requiring a new edition.

Hopefully it something different, like perhaps a Campaign book, which we haven't had a new one of since the end of First Edition.

Might be like DCUMG 2nd ed where it just streamlines the game but the characters and cards stay the same.

We'll see what the future brings.

Here's hoping that it's actually the third 2-player starter box, and just as Suicide Squad was released to coincide with the movie, perhaps this will be a Birds of Prey 2-player box.

I would not say no to new BoP minis!

Not to rain on anyone's parade:
I have heard from a reliable source that it is a true 3rd edition, with a considerable amount of streamlining.

That's the buzz I've heard as well.

Conflicted on it. 2nd Ed has really found its groove and it feels far too soon for a change. On the other hand, the actual 2nd Ed launch was kind of a flop and the groove 2nd Ed found is more or less completely different from with all the changes introduced in the last year or so. A 3rd Ed built on the modern game might really take the game where its always had the potential to go.

I might jump on board with 3rd...

Is their resin work better now?

For the most part, I think so. It's quite stiff for the most part and I haven't had any real issues with anything breaking or air bubbles or anything since things started releasing in Batboxes. There's a few models that absolutely terrify me like Damian's spindly little swords that are resin and really need to be metal, but I haven't had a problem yet. Some of the first resins have some issues; like the original resin Batman's ears are too tall to cast well, but I've been quite happy with everything released in the last year. Also, be aware that they put a small gate under the chin of pretty much every model now. It's easy to remove with the scrape of a hobby knife, but its incredibly easy to miss until you start painting. Overall, I don't think their resin is quite as good as PPs, but its probably my second favorite I've worked with so far.
