@ Alaricuk, Excellent work those dread look great the new one is looking really good. I hear what you are saying about the shoulder exposure, but it is just because we are used to 80's shoulderpads on most of our death robots.

So house move fell through and stuck with the Cataphract paint scheme. What better distraction than a new vehicle project!!!
All my current projects are well wrapped so thought what the hell i’ll get my larger Titan recovery vehicle started. At present it’s looking like the old epic termite carrier, which was not the initial intention but could workout quite well in light of FW releasing the termite later this year. All scratch built at present and it’s going to need a lot of rivets which will take some time. Quick in progress pic attached and hoping as it’s half term this week I may get a chance to do a bit more on it,

As redharvest requested I’m trying to update a bit more frequently
Half term not going to plan and half the family is down with flu/sickness bug but did manage to scratch build the idler wheel today for the running gear. Aiming to make a mould and cast it up to save time as it was fun but fiddly to put together.

Cheers Cam!!
Had a steady day adding the detail to one of the side units, it’s taken around 3 hrs to do around 150 rivets so as expected, a slow but somewhat rewarding process

Impressive work though I kinda think buying a Baneblade Chassis would have saved a lot of trouble.

So a productive evening, although struggling with the look of the exhausts. Gave up trying to design something and then remembered I have a couple of imperial knight ones from a job lot of spares I won on ebay. they have the look and general feel I was after, large, noisy, brutish. but having come back to them today I'm not sure if their mounted to high???? what do you guys think???

I think they're okay as is- they clear the top of the cab, which is usually the rule of thumb for heavy rigs. If you look at a military 5 ton, or even a civilian tractor trailer, their stacks come just over the high point of the cab (sometimes even the top of the trailer, which makes them look gawky when the hauler isn't pulling a load).
I thin as the rest of the vehicle accretes around the chassis you've built, the good balance will become more evident.
Great progress!

Cheers Meercat, took your advise and also had a good look through the web. think your right about it fitting in as the chassis develops,
So having had a good chunk of the day without most of the family around, have done quite a lot of fiddly/fine detail for the roof of the main cab and carried on with the engine housing. Copula base needs finalising and I'm not to sure its in its final guise yet but its certainly a good start and being raised gives the observer a better all round view from the elevated position. no plans for weapons on this beast as yet. Photos aren't the best tonight as I'm struggling to pick out the detail as everything is white. wip pics from today attached and time for bed!!

Thanks Johnny, hadn’t actually thought of the thunder hawk similarity, my initial idea was to re-design the mastadon profile and have it run in reverse so to speak, so the big tracks went first, but then I added the blaneblade tracks instead,

Thanks guys
Some productivity today, have finished the first track module rivet detailing and am 95% through the second. Also started to build up and detail the rear load space, one side installed although questioning now if this also needs a bit of rivet love????
