What? I thought 30k was the "balanced" one.

Considering Knights are their own army in 30k so you can't just chuck one into any Army list on its own. And Knights don't have much in the way of ranged armor fighting, and it's str 10, not for so you get cover and invulnerable saves.

With all of that, I'd say it's not likely to throw anything out of balance.

Oh noes! A knight that is good at shooting! Whatever will we do to SOMEHOW do damage to a 7 hullpoint baneblade equivalent! It's not like there is quite a few models that are amazing answers to this!

Also 99.9% of knights are designed with 40k in mind as well, since that's where most knight armies happen to be played.

you're being "funny" but kinda failed.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

Indeed. Trying to stop a Flare Shielded target with this thing from the front is probably a waste of time.

Compare it to a D-spam Warhound (a 40k unit by "main GW") and that's the end of this thread.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

A praetor with a chainfist with friends will tear this guy apart (if it wasn't for stomps he probably could solo it if he had EW)

spartan will get them there easily, even with 4 str 10 blasts with a flare shield on it you only pen on 6s, and then you can just let it run arround las cannoning things elsewhere.

This was my thought exactly - Plus, the balance is also in the way that if you want to ally it in, the opponent can do it on the same level. Balance is not just about models and rules, but both sides having equal ways to bring the pain to the table. What I like about 30k is (usually) if my opponent has a great army setup, then I can take roughly the same next time. That's what i consider balance.

My one question - at the risk of poking the plotholes - do we know what the carapace missile rack does?

Its an Ironstorm Missile Pod according to the picture of the rules I've seen (S5 AP4 Large Blast). It also has two Autocannons.

That's not too bad. I mean, yes - that's a whirlwind, but an extra whirlwind round is neither here nor there in terms of the amount of firepower being flung back and forth in a large horus heresy game.

Upping the secondary weapon mounts from heavy stubbers to autocannons is rather more significant, but still not too bad. I was worried it might be something akin to that monstrosity on the back of the Minotaurs' Roc-pattern Storm Eagle.

I think, in short, it's nasty, but within the realms of sanity. As an antitank platform, it has to compete with the AV14, Flare Shielded Cerberus - which whilst it has a lower rate of fire has twin-linked and the 'shock pulse' effect that can knock out a super-heavy vehicle's weaponry.

As an anti-personnel platform, it has 5 large blasts, but needs to compete with the Typhon, with a 10" ignores cover blast.

It has the advantage of being harder to take down up close, and having more flexible weapons that can do both, but it does cost significantly more than either. All told, I think it's pretty fair.

you are comparing it to cerberus, which is one of the worse super heavys... and cerberus is tl, but when you miss, you miss. Pie plate just drifts and can still hit target, can hit multiple targets etc.

side note: isn't this just a bit cheaper version 3 Auxillia Medusas?

3 Auxilia Medusas have 1 less shot, same armor, 2 more hull points, invluns (vs. blasts)

But knight is immune to weapon destroyed, stun, shaken, stomps people in cc, moves 12 and fires, can fire each gun at different target, gets shield...

Agreed with Bocatt...
But if you reverse the legs and make them chicken legs and convert the autocannon to fire from the top you have the closest thing to a 30/40k Marauder we have seen in game yet.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

The Roc-pattern launcher fires a spread of 4 Twin-linked krak missiles.
