Considering that he's been in the warp for 10,000 years and that the wulfen curse is at least partially a sort of space wolf immunity reaction to the warp, Russ being a giant wulfen is actually one of the more logical things to expect, to the point where it'd almost be complete bull gak if he wasn't a wulfen (then you'd have to ask how he avoided mutating for 10,000 years).

It would also provide a fluff explanation for Magnus' smug proclamation in the old Space Wolf novel that he knew where Russ was (IE, Magnus saying "Haha, Russ literally is a dumb animal now.") although I dunno if GW cares to reference such a thing.

If he gets a model, making him a giant wulfen also ensures he'll be significantly different from his 30k Forge World version, and that's pretty important, I think. If GW ever does introduce primarchs to 40k, I'm sure "Don't overlap with Forgeworld" is going to be one of their primary considerations.

Have they changed the 13th Company fluff? I don't have the new stuff, but the majority of the 13th in the Eye of Terror campaign bore very slight stigmata of the Curse of the Wolfen to resist the Warp, but were all still Space Marines. They just were elite Crusade-era brothers so were all as skilled as any Wolf Guard.

I shudder at the thought of them all being changed to be Wolfen, especially Russ. And there was never any mention of whether they actually found Russ or not.....

I am hoping he has wulfen in the core formation. I only really want one pack to be totally honest. I have enough for the murderpack, but had to drop a bunch of bloodclaws, a wolf priest terminator, and a bastion to fit them into my 2000 point list...

This would definitely interest me as well, as I'd love to build up a (much!) smaller Space Puppy force to sit alongside my Tzeentchians. And Redmaw's Great Company would definitely be the one I'd go for, since it would still in part feel 'Chaosy' with the fact he & his company are the most touched by the Wulfen curse.

So if Russ comes back for this big fight (wolfen or not) and El' Johnson sleeps within The Rock (presumably not smelling any cooking) what are the chances this kicks off the return of the Lion? As The Rock hangs in orbit over Fenris.

Is he hairy enough? I think that would require him to go a bit Wulfen or something, to make a nice pelt.

You already know, given current GW writing, that any 40k fight between Magnus and Russ will leave Magnus defeated in a very embarrassing one way fight.

Would be awesome for Lion to reawaken, see the monster Russ has turned into, kills the heretic abomination. Later reunites with Guilliman who is healing, and together help save the imperium. LOL

After single handedly killing all the Wolf Guard in the Fang, the Wolf Lord in command, a Wolf Priests and half of there Dreadnoughts IIRC.

You meant Thrall there.

Reading about the Primarchs from all the different sources...you can really tell who GW don't love.

At least Mortarion isn't a crybaby/tantrum throwing rage machine/Snively Whiplash/Emo Kid/Preener/Idiot who ignored a decree and broke the Astronomican.

Mortarion's just an angry man who wages war the good old fashioned way.

Speaking of Space Wolves, Natfka, I bumped into an old mate last night who had a chap with him who I'd not met before. He said that he knew people working at GW, said that they were working on Warzone: Fenris pt2 at the moment and showed me two grainy photos.

I assume that the delay in pt2 is down to the models involved as one pic was of Thousand Sons in ornate armour that I'd not seen before and the other pic was of a daemonic Magnus. Hard to make out details on him from memory but there was a fair bit of blue & red on him and I vaguely remember something like blue pinions outstretched from his back but I'm not sure if they were wings. Clearly a departure from a Primarch Magnus from FW.

And a plastic Magnus from GW was the last thing I expected to see. It looked legit, but I don't know the chap, so..

Can't get a copy of the pics as they're secret squirrel, but my chum confirms that there are
wings on Magnus and it's GW plastic, not FW resin.

We are/were expecting a plastic LoC?

Seems most likely it was that and a case of misidentification/assumptions or that Magnus is a dual build.

Sounds plausible. There were reports from the latest GW event mentioning that Daemon Primarchs have a good chance be released in plastic from GW instead of being made by FW. The four Daemon Primarchs were part of the Epic/Space Marine army list for Chaos, 40k era, and had models.

Well short of GW going down and shutting down their business before it happens those are pretty much inevitable. Question is just when they will release them.

Myth no more.

A lot of people over the years claimed the GDs were all finished and claimed they saw them (talking about myths).

All of them curiously missed this particular vintage-epic-inspired-villain next to the only recently finished LoC his design portfolio.

Remember the Warhammer Fest comment about things changing, but not quite as drastic as End Times/AoS? 40K is on the move.

To quote the X-files tagline, "I want to believe" Considering all the recent large scale special character kits GW have made for fantasy, combined with the rumour chatter about Tzeentch releases, some kind of 40k end times style story progression and the comment from Warhammer fest about plastic demon primarches its not outside the realms of possibility.
Of course it could also be total wish listing using existing rumours as a base. Guess we will know more either way towards the end of the year.

Warhammer 40k:

- There were whispers about a "shake up" for 40k later this year, not as quite as AoS had thought.
- Simon Egan said he probably won't do the Daemon Primarchs. "There is more interesting stuff you can do with them in plastic". Too bad we don't know a major campaign/story arc where the Daemon Primarchs come back alongside the whole power of chaos ....
