Yeah the jetbikes with poison 2+ and a volkite culverin on a few will put the real pain on infantry, thing is that jetbikes are so bloody expensive to buy, it's going to be near impossible for me to buy that many jetbikes lol

Could you give a quick back brief on the new World Eaters characters and their new RoW please.

2 new characters, one is T5 and a "renegade" so neither loyalist or traitor, God knows how he fits in on that front, he has a power fist and his own version of the world's eaters Legion trait, but he is very good in my mind.

The other is the master of the inductii, an apothecary with. 4+ fnp that he confers to the unit he is with, for free he (and any Legion apothecary now) can upgrade Legion tactical squads to +1 Str fnp 6+ -1 Bs but no longer scoring, pretty good character and with the new row he makes Angron very hard to kill.

The new row gives (working off memory) fnp 6+ or +1 to fnp, it will not die to all characters and +1 to any independent characters iwnd, all only if within enemy deployment zone, this means Angron with the apothecary gets fnp 3+ and iwnd 4+, even mortarion is wtf to that.

After a scan through this thread, I didn't notice the SoH RoW? If you haven't already posted it, any chance of learning that?

Um, that word bearers rite of war - it says units which can take a rhino DT can take a legion drop pod, but the limitations say you can't take immobile units; am i missing something or is that a rules paradox?

Uh-oh... you are right. Those do contradict one another!

Also, the new Apothecary for WE looks amazing. That dude with Red Butchers! Yes, please. He really plays into that new RoW too. Has me really debating on running a side force of World Eaters. Plus, the new images of the red-dominant color schemes are awesome.

No contradiction, the pod isn't an immobile unit upon purchasing it, it only becomes immobile once it hits the table, off the top of my head it says "treat is as an immobilised vehicle" when it lands, otherwise I'd agree

It actually has the "immobile" special rule. Same thing applies to the new WE RoW, in that they can't take Pods with that rule. :(

At least two squads of 6 with all those Poison HBs. Brutal! Totally worth the price!

If I'm also running Angron, I don't let Gahlan Surlak leave his side. I think the better synergy is there...the Red Butchers should roll just fine on their own.

I have no plan to use Angron, just Kharn and Gahlan. Putting Gahlan with Inductii seems good, so he can have them go nuts and die off without losing a lot of points. But I like the idea of Butchers being super tough with him along. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So we've seen the awesome rules for the new Legions, but what about the fluff? Do we get full chapters detailing the fluff of each new legion like we did in previous books? Or is it just the legion rules?

I'm seriously considering buying the book as an avid DA player, but I don't know if I would if it's just the rules that I'm already familiar with. I want fluff too!

There is a small amount of fluff, but you wont get the whole chapter until the Legions come out in the book with the Primarchs and their Special units.

Be careful if you pop there special ability then he could die, every model in the unit that rolls a 1 is removed as a casualty, he's in the unit, so he has to roll.

As a Word Bearer player with books 4 and 5 are there many compelling reasons to pick this up?

New ROWs or the story, maybe? Beyond those, just wait for the new red books

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

What exactly did they change for the Death Guard Legion specific rules?

I read something about a change to their toxic weapons and FnP but no specifics.

scythes are now -1 initiative, +1 attack if your in base contact with 2+ enemies, Toxin seems to be poison (3+), reroll dangerous terrain always (instead of mud/toxic terrain only), 4+ FNP vs. poison and fleshbane. I think those are the only major changes, basically we have I: 4 Mortarion now, and deathshroud are now one of the deadliest beatstick units in the game.

May have to order more deathshrouds lol...only have 5 on the way lol.
