Has anyone who owned a previous digital edition of either of these been able to update to the "new" one? When I click on the link for iBooks edition of either it takes me to the book I've already purchased. Anyone else notice this?

I already had the ebook version of FSE and they added the new version to my account. I didn't notice until after I'd bought the new version...

is there actually anything different though? Between the two versions, did rules change, clarify things for Ork Supplements?

Im just curious if its just a cash grab at hopes and dreams or if it's really an update.

I just bought the updated ebook, and it downloaded the old ebook. : (

The names aren't very clear for the FSE book.

Old version: Farsight Enclaves - A Codex: Tau Empire Supplement (Original eBook Edition)

New version: Farsight Enclaves

For some reason the new version shows as being purchased on the date I purchased the old version and vice versa.

Page 10 of this thread has the leaks for the new ghaz (and some for fse). Most of the info is confirmed in later pages, but there is also a lot of complaining (for good reason). Read, and be prepared for massive disapoitment.

Yeah, the advertising lead me to believe the old editions would be "updated". Not requiring a separate purchase. However, that doesn't sound very GW.

They did give me the new version free - just the purchase dates showing were screwy which made me think they hadn't.

Look for ITC changes in the coming hours to disallow ork turn one charges (remember only marines can have nice things) and removing tau suits from the list of useable farsight units.

Well they haven't updated the enhanced edition yet...

They were up for all of a few hours before being taken down, they aren't even available for pre order, hopefully it'll get taken care of before release.

Digital has been having lots of problems with releases, the space wolf wulfen edition was actually available to download for 4 hours before being taken down and switched to pre order.

I'm hopping they posted the wrong stuff, and there where updates that they missed to stuff like Da WaaaghBand and Da Boss Iz Watchin. I'm really hoping they change some stuff to make it NOT utter horse gakk...

Well they are adding a formation detachment to orks and they get to waaagh every turn including the first. Just a matter of what else is changed. They'd have to do a lot to raise up the orks from the bog they are currently residing.

Also be prepared for the ITC to nerf the FSE so they can only take their own signature systems again, because feth Tau right guys.

My concern is wether or not I have to rebuy the enhanced edition of my books, or if they are going to update them. Looking at iBooks today they have updated the cover of the FSE enhanced edition codex, but they still haven't changed the contents in any way that I can find.

Enhanced Edition owners will get a free update to download when it releases, Black Library emailed me saying that.

Yep, they added 2 rules that don't matter and forgot to include greentide.

Well, I saw the book today at my flgs. Other than the three flyer formations, the leaked changes like furious charge to rage, and the complete removal of green tide (also not needing 10+inch charge for HoW attacks) it's the same book. It's VERY clearly the direct replacement so green tide is gone.

And I got a dataslate that is not usable anymore, because GW doesn't bother to update it. Buy the codex, huh?

They updated the FSE book and took the riptides using sig systems out. Guess that is the nail in the coffin. ECAP was the only sig system really worth taking imo :(

That was already out in Mont'ka.

O'Vesa can take it but no other riptide.

FSE can now take TE sig systems in addition to their own though.

FLG is addressing the removal of GreenTide and are probably going to allow it.

Sucks about the ECA however I really like it we have access to the Tau Signature Systems on top of the FSE. Outside of Ovesa it will allow use to actually run Characters from "The Eight" Individually.

It kind of makes sense since they removed the TE Signature System restriction. If a Riptide could take Iridium Armor, not only would it make it T7, but it would also follow the rules as a Crisis Suit.

Riptides can't take signature systems and never could. The ECPA used to be a generic upgrade but was moved to the Signature Systems list.
