So they are finally going to release the battleboard then.

We've seen a start collecting box with the old BlOrcs though, haven't we. So a character or two and a new unit with their general metal mountsin look?

If they can be converted/build as giant Orcs/Orks, rat ogres, big muntants and big battle servitors...hngh. Sigmarine size and lil bit more would make that possiblle, but all the armour they'll probably have sculpted on makes that unlikely.

Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.

@MongooseMatt, that's awesome! Thanks for the info!

@Mymearan, my bet is on them being from the realm of fire. Probably will be working alongside the Fyreslayers and be lead by a bright wizard.

Just a guess.

No. The Start Collecting! Greenskinz box has no Black Orcs in the set.

I've only just bought Balance of Power, and I don't even have Quest for Ghal Maraz yet haha.

It is worse for me - we are playing through the Realmgate Wars one by one, and are just about to finish Ghal Maraz. With Balance of Power and some other bits and pieces from the Battletomes, we had about 20-something more Battleplans to go - and now that is going to get pushed to near 40!

Well, at least we are all set for games for the rest of the year!

Ha, luckily for me I'm not doing anything like that (well, not yet - I've only just started the missions from the starter set with my brother last night!). Good luck catching up! If they keep releasing them this quickly I don't think you'll ever want for games haha.

Is the picture not a preview of a new box? That was my take when reading Myrmearan's post. I know that the already realeased one doensn't have them.

Either way we have pics of the current BlOrcs for AoS.

The picture is saying things to buy next after the box. The box has been out for a while so it saying to buy Black Orcs doesn't necessarily mean new ones won't be coming out. Or maybe they'll be a new black Orruk unit that won't replace the current ones.

These God beasts sound interesting/daft depending on how there handled.
Will they all be Dragons? Will they be background only or will they have some kind of table top impact through rules or models?(I know there way to big themselves, but themed monsters that are lesser versions like the Stormcast Star Drakes and Dracoliths would be possible)

Edit- Just a thought but not limiting them to Dragons could be used as a background explanation for a lot of the bigger monsters as there children/descendants.

With very squinty eyes I think I make out that they dropped the Godbeast campaign book to $80 CAN/$65 US, which I hope I am right about. I've quite wanted the campaign books but haven't been able to justify $90 to myself. $80 isn't far off but we're in potential range now.

New black orcs? Mounted on some nasty monsters? Sounds ok but Im really looking forward the champ and shaman characters of the savage kind.

I just hope they get something more interesting than bigger boars, not much of a hassle for me since I refuse any kind of piglet with pointy teeth on my army its all about chitin for me so I will replace them with something decent.

So what about a huge armoured squig instead navarro?

Nice to see night gobbos got a rename and that's it.
Plastic squigs wouldn't go a miss would they though?

Do like the start collecting box's however and I think they have made GW a mint so far.
Wondering if they will do themed box's later on to add elements to armies.

Giant squigs would be awesome! Or any plastic squig.

GW is on top of a gold mine if they release a multipart squig kit!

Black orcs mounted on quadrapedal squiggy things would get my money and I'm not ashamed.

I have to say after initial excitement I hope we don't see them in mini form.
In the first AoS book it basically runs down a shopping list of big beasties that Sigmar 'compromised to a permanent end', and there's some artwork of Sigmar leaping through the air bare-chested & swinging Ghal Maraz...
...and then you slowly realize that the background isn't background, it's an enormous.. 'thing'.
That's my minds-eye when I hear GODBEAST. Something the size of mountain ranges. Something beyond the scale that even FW would try.

Aw man, imagine if one of the Time of War settings was on the back of one of these things?

Incidentally, in GW's age of IP sensitivity; have they not double-checked that GODBEAST aren't a scandinavian metal band with a logo that looks like someone threw a bundle of white twigs onto a black floor?

OK guys can we stop now, or I may have to commission you to make me some huge squigs navarro lol.

Don't have the cash for that but I've always loved squigs.
Just a shame the colossal one from FW looks nothing like a squig anymore and more like a clusterfeth of chaos.

I love that piece of art. That could well be what it represents too, a Godbeast. Could you imagine that 'miniature'?!

Think the model would be about the size of a room. Normal people thought this Godbeast was a sun.

Yeah these things would wear a Tau Manta as a breastplate, I don't think they are intended to ever see model form. That is something I like about the AoS setting - they can put in things this big (even multiple things as such) without it breaking the rationality of how they all fit on a single world. The Skaven Pestilens novel, for example, takes place entirely on top of (and within) a worm so vast there is a city built on its back, and that city only occupies a portion.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Sure the God beasts themselves are way outside the scope of the table top. But what if there was for example a spawn of Ignax model?
*wonders off daydreaming about a monster filled brood of the God beasts faction*

Yeah, I like things like that. Proper mad fantasy stuff. It's also good in the sense that there's things in the art that aren't just the models in the game (something I don't like about 40k atm; the vast majority of the art is just the new models at the time, basically exact copies).

Also, judging by the pictures on Atias blog, this next campaign book is slightly cheaper than the others, £40 instead of £45.

Man that art is epic!

I love this over the top fantasy as well. Especially when there's lesser fantasy things like the Orruks and Free Guild to balance it out.

Like how in Dark Soul games you get these tidbits of information of powers and creatures far beyond anything you've faced or even seen that affect the very existence of your reality but you're still just a small mortal trying to make your way through a trap filled castle at the moment.

Though I think the Godbeasts should stay in the lore I think it'd be cool for them to create avatars of themselves using a small portion of their power. That way you'd get the beast without having to use a wagon to cart the actual sized model around.

That's a pretty cool concept for the next phase of the Realmgate Wars. I'm also quite interested to see the "Candlemen". Fyreslayers fiction showed there's still some bastions of order that held out through the Age of Chaos. I like the idea of candles against the prevailing darkness...

“It was in lands of the Chi-An where she finally ran him to ground. There she kissed him deeply as he lay dying, and so stole from him his last, agonized breath.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

Ohh, nice theory.

My buddy in the Empire forum wonders if they might be from the realm of shadows. I hear rumors of a upcoming Dark elf kit for this year, if he's right the Candlemen might shed some light on that rumor. (...I'm sorry for that...)

Nah. We're not at the Realm of Shadows yet.

The book covers Realm of Fire and Life again--I would imagine that they're Realm of Fire.
