I suppose it would be too much to hope for a squad with bits and bobs from all Mk's of Power armour? I've been hoping for a mixed armour bundle from FW for years now with no such luck...

Admittedly, if you were actually there your memories are going to be rusty, but I'm pretty sure SoB were a product of 2nd?

Either way, anyone playing Dakka bingo may now check off "attempt to redirect thread not about Sisters to be about Sisters."

Holy requisition?

I might pop by the local GW after donating blood and pick up the mini if I like it and it can be used in 30K for the Death Guard and isn't too expensive lol.

Although I think I scared the poor clinic last time as I screamed Blood for the Blood God while donating.

The tactical box typically features enough parts to make full armour sets for approx 7-8 Mk VII Marines, 2 Mk VI Marines and a Mk VIII Torso. What I meant is that I'd like to see some Mk II, III, IV and V parts stuck in there. Obviously that would take business from FW (and it's higher costs) so GW is unlikely to do it, but I'd also be happy to see FW throw out a bundle with a few marines from each armour Mark - not just the entirely Mk II, entirely MK III etc. sets it currently produces. Not quite a Armour through the Ages set, but something that echoes the idea that armour sets are really relics and more varied throughout squads than we usually see.

The mini from that artwork isn't a SoB, it's what's frequently (incorrectly) labelled as RT era "Female Space Marine" but does say Sister on the tab.

What I would love to see is a large figurine along the lines of the assassins creed figures that have been released for the last few games. I have a few of them in my games room and I think they are awesome. They retail around £40 and seem to sell pretty well in the video game stores. I bet the gaming world would bite the hand off GW to get a marine one of these. I would anyway!

Exactly, up to that point people still had hope for a Squats, Mechanicus, or Imperial Agents codex but then 3rd edition arrived and streamlined stuff a bit. Squats were removed, IAs moved after a few Assassins experiments into the Inquisitor codex, and the Mechanicus even got something.

i was there, man! (Young whipper-snapper!)

Sisters didn't show up as a collectable army for many years, tis true. OTOH they do get a picture and a description of their role in the Imperium while Chaos isn't even mentioned in the first book.

I wasn't seriously suggesting that Sisters would actually see plastic....but after so many years it would have been funny if the 'good guys in power armour' release turned out to be plastic sisters.

And I still have all my old RTB-01 Marines...mutter.

I honestly have no recollection of what happened to mine.. Nor my original Rhinos. I know exactly what happened to my precious MkI Land Raider, and I'm still a little bitter about it...

I think I've still got an RT rule book hanging around somewhere, but it isn't my original.

But I'm really sore that my folks appear to have binned both volumes of Realm Of Chaos...

I don't know why, but I have an itching for some Beakie Marines. I have two boxes of Tactical Marines to build, and I am going to build the Beakies in the complete Mk VI armor.

I really hope they rerelease the Crimson Fists standard bearer. I need a SB for my Honour Guard.

I am hoping that the exclusive miniature is a Beakie this time as well. It would be fitting since the original marine kits were beakies.

Maybe it will be just the release of the betrayal at calth miniatures without the game with a special character?

Not enough to persuade me not to take advantage of my first opportunity to go to Salute 2016. A squad box might have caused me to divert to a GW store first.

Chances are there will be plenty left. Unless it's a huge store, 50 is a lot of stock for what'll be a £30 plastic marine. [My prediction; it's unlikely to be cheaper than that, and unlikely to be in finecast].

Probably a fairly generic looking captain, might look like an artwork cover if you squint hard enough. Really not worth missing out on Salute for.

Can't remember if there were rules for them explicitly, but there was def artwork of them in RT:

There was more than just artwork - the other side of that splash-page was of the Space Marine (Brother Vermillion) being blasted by Sister Sin, and a blurb talking about the Ecclesiarchy and the Adepta Sororitas. The Sororitas specifically are noted as being a sub-faction of the Ecclesiarchy who's "unwavering loyalty to the Imperial Cult means they are tasked with keeping a close watch on all servants of the Imperium", with "whole companies of Battle Sisters descending on war zones, Adeptus Astartes Fortress-Monasteries, Fleets and the scattered worlds of the Imperium" in order to expose "wrong-doers, malcontents and mutants". The idea of the Adepta Sororitas being a faction tasked with rooting out Heresy inside the Imperium is something that dates back to basically day one of the fluff.

More than that artwork, but then that two-page splash was the entirety of the Adepta Sororitas background for a decade until the Sisters of Battle were released in 1997.

There were two female power-armoured models released, but they were never advertised as Sororitas - merely adventurers in power armour. I mean, they published stats for an Imperial accountant, but never these ladies. That tells you how important they were in the setting, I think.

Wait....I don't see why they built up a ton of hype for a single short supply mini.

Am I missing a part to the equation? Wasn't this supposed to be some mark the date because we have never done this before big type of event? An its a limited edition mini??

Supply and demand. When demand is super high for awesome limited run model, that is in very low supply, prices go up. They do it all the time. Plus they have limited stock on the day, so they send a small number to the smallest stores, a bit more to bigger ones, and the majority remain weborder crash the website exclusives for people that haven't been able to get to a store 2 days before to camp out, which they then lable "due to high volume orders, takes 3 weeks to be shipped" when in reality it just means they now have 3 weeks to cast enough to fill the orders.

On page 44 of the First book of the Astronomican they had an 'Ultimate Force Competition' where you could take Adepta Sororitas characters with imperial forces. And with could I mean couldn't, because they had no rules, stats or models for them (these were the requirements). But I guess the wanted to do something with them back then (1988).

Well, a Sister is as likely as a Tinboy for the PA anniversary, though a bunch of models that could wear it (SM, CSM, Sister, Inquisitor etc.) would have been nice. I don't collect Space Marines anymore, so I'm most likely not interested in the exclusive miniature.

Actually, since it lists Sororitas under the heading of "special characters" in that ancient competition, I suppose you could simply stat them up using the Adeptus Terra equipment charts, use one of those two female models in power armour and call it a Sororitas.

Back on topic, this event is being publicised with pictures of Space Marines. I think wishing for a Sororitas, Inquisitor or anything in power armour that isn't a Space Marine is about as likely as it being a model of Master Chief in Spartan armour.

It'll likely be in old-style armour so you can use it in Heresy games too.

Maybe GW will throw in a bonus for 30 years of power armour, , "how the sisters wear power armour without massive augmentation and genetic engineering".....
