I am starting to think that the problem with these new Forgeworld LotR models' faces is not just the paint job but the sculpting.

Storm Trooper with Maglight

I mean, look at this:
Similar dark armour with gold trim and red accents underneath, virtually identical pauldron style and red banded chest piece, same blond haircut and beard (Elfheim has a bit longer but Jaime looks very close in scenes where he went a bit longer without shaving), very similar sword (with gilded hilt, too), and Jaime's most dramatic scene last season was horse charge with a spear against a dragon
Yeah, no.
As someone else said, the established aesthetic for Rohirrim commanders was established back in the late 90s and early 2000s. Theoden, Theodred, Eomer. All their armour is the same as this new Captain. All of it was designed and created well before the GoT TV show.

Those characters are great. Probably my favourite of the new stuff (but then Harad and Umbar have been my favourite things from the LotR game since the Harad sourcebook).

That corsair is fantastic! Love the Harad character too. Guess I've got an excuse to pick up a Mumak now ( as if I didn't have one already!)
But yeah,my hat corsair has me looking at a force, which is something I'd never considered before.

I do believe it is Grey Company Halbarad to accompany the Grey Company models.

This new rerelease is awesome. If the 120€ Halbarad comes back, maybe Gildor will also make it someday. And also some ruffians.

Wow, I nearly paid eBay prices for Kardush yesterday. I only held off because I knew the second I did buy him GW would start making him again! Same goes for Cirdan too!
Haldir's Elves: excellent. I've got plenty but they are the far superior sculpts.
BOTF: about time, some of the best sculpts in the entire range.
GC & Halbarad: the one with the horn I presume? Not a huge fan of any of these sculpts but it's nice to have them back as an option
Morgul Stalkers are a big win for me. They hardly ever turn up on eBay so to just be able to buy them is amazing!

Made to order images are up in the new Warhammer Community post: I guess I'll get Kardush and the Stalkers for my Mordor force. But I haven't gotten any Good models yet, so I don't know which ones to get! Especially since they're one week only.

To be honest with you, all the good models there are highly sought after, with Halbarad in particular reaching triple figures second hand. If you've got the funds, i'd recommend you get one of each, as none of those sculpts are cheap on the secondary market currently. They might drop with this, but I doubt too much.

It's kind of a problem with the whole "one week thing," especially the heroes. You'd think if they're bringing back the game with a new edition they'd at least make the heroes available for purchase whenever.

Thing is, these have all got alternative sculpts already apart from Cirdan, Kardush and Stalkers. My guess would be that those are probably getting the FW treatment sometime in the future if they're not being brought back permanently now.

Ooooh, true. So those are the three I definitely want to pick up. Guess I'll be choosing Rivendell as my first Good Force... It's a good thing a local shop has a box of Rivendell Knights in their 20% off section...

The only thing i'm concerned slightly about is the price of the breaking set. Everything else I think will hold it's old price of between £8-£12. I'm just concerned if they push breaking to something dumb like £45. Rather than the £25-30 it used to be.

The listing is USD$75, and based off of my best attempt at working out how GW do regional conversions, I'm pretty sure that'll be £45. Unless I just wasn't paying attention during the earlier rounds, Made to Order does seem to be suffering from a rapid onset of increased gouge. Still, I guess they know the mindset of the target demographic, because I'd rather pay that amount than what the scalpers are asking.
