Also just received that.
Kinda interesting, maybe they will keep running low production runs on "OOP" products.
None oft the marked kits interest me, though, and Valten pack is too expensive.

Sounds like GW are reacting to feedback again, I can imagine there were a fair few miffed players contacting them once all the LCTB stuff began to sell out very quickly. It makes sense business wise and PR wise, so seems like a fair move to me.

Indeed. It's as if saner heads are being listened to in GWHQ. The effort in knocking out another 20-30 kits is minimal beyond adjusting plastic production timetables, especially if gets them sales they wouldn't ordinarily have and positive feedback.

Seems like a good call. The only people losing in this scenario is random people who may have bulk bought to resell. No hobbyist is hurt in the making of this move.

Kudos to GW.

Reading is fundamental.

Yes, it's "last chance to buy". However because of the demand for certain items they're doing another run before removing the stuff from sale permanently. That's why the link only shows a certain number of items rather than all 92 items that had been up.

More that stuff went last chance to buy, sold out in hours, and a lot of people were understandably upset that they didn't even know about it before they got home from work. This is a good move on their part.

I am increasingly wondering if Kirby is more out-of-the-center than we thought, and Roundtree is behind the gradual but broad changes in policy we are seeing. This comes on top of start collecting boxes, GW endorsing and encouraging events, and the revival of specialist games. And plastic genestealer cult.

It honestly reads like they were caught off guard, and sincerely were trying to be fair to their customers.

They are getting rid of them not because they CAN'T make them anymore but because they don't fit the current aesthetic of their game and don't want to carry them as slow stock.

So they put them up to clear them out. Some clear out in less time that many people check their phones let alone the GW website. So as a salve to those who didn't get at even a full day chance at things before they were sold out this is an excellent move.

Plus asking for people to click the email them button regarding their urge to purchase is a nice touch. Gives them a decent idea of how much of a run they should produce for their customers. And then everyone will have had a chance at those models and they can be retired.

Yes, but it selling out doesn't activate a fiendishly intricate Rube-Goldberg Machine that destroys the moulds and master models, it just means they don't have any stock. They have agreed, assumedly because they have data to indicate one more small run will sell out quickly so they can still get rid of them more permanently within their planned timescale, or at least quickly enough that any small delay to that planned timescale is considered worth it in exchange for the goodwill this move will engender among those who wanted, say, a coupe of boxes of MaA to finish their army but missed them for the few hours they were still available in the original Last Chance listing.

I must say I don't get criticism of this move, literally the only people who lose out here are ebay-scalping scum who thought they were going to be able to buy multiple boxes and list them in a couple of weeks with "OOP" attached to the name for triple the original price.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Well, it won't even hit those much - they'll just delay the sales for a couple of weeks longer.

I recall house Harkonnans policy on Dune: first they let the brutish butcher Rabban terrorize the people, then beautiful Feyd-Rautah take over the rule as a celebrated saviour even though he is still a tyrant and opressor for the pleasure of their house.

Sounds like a scam to me. Mark any undesirable or unpopular product "Last Chance to Buy" and sell the boatload of it. And if somebody missed on it, oh well, GW will make them again for you. ...And possibly again.

I am selling an original "Iron Warriors" painting by Karl Kopinski: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/121232313078?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Eh, I'd be more inclined to think that if they had suddenly raised prices on these items. As it stands, it doesn't hurt them to do this and they earn positivie publicity, something they can benefit from tremendously.

Seems like someone opened a crate somewhere "Uh, lads... There's still some more of that fantasy rubbish left!"

Wish there was some Dark Elf stuff left over but it's a nice gesture all the same. Why don't they just have the molds on standby and offer an order service? Get enough signatures/up front payments to make a run worthwhile?

You did actually read the email that reds8n posted, right? The stuff isn't immediately up for sale. They're going to be reposting it sometime soon-ish, after they run some more of the stuff off in-house.

Honestly, there was hardly any Dark Elf stuff that went Last Chance to Buy. It was named characters, some generics that are no longer around or have plastic kit equivalents and two Finecast unit sets(Shades and Reaper Bolt Throwers).

I read it, I just don't believe it especially as I'm certain there were definitely kits that went oos quicker than quite a few of those listed for a 're-run'! Which makes me think a red shirt stumbled over a dusty box of figs somewhere in storage...

As for DE, Lokihr Fellheart and the generic mounted lords is what I was too slow to pick up... for the last decade.
