I mean, I thought Tyranids were supposed to be the army for Monstrous Creatures.
Epic fail.

They are. Wraithknights are Gargantuan Creatures. Not Monstrous.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

They also make a mockery of Nids Gargantuans. Apparently my Barbed Heirodule is twice as good as a Wraithknight...

We all know wraithknights are unbalanced and tyranid MC are weaker than a guardman. Do we really need another one of these threads?

Haha...what a joke! My friend has old school wraith knight models, and they are barely bigger than a dreadnought...might even be smaller.

Wraithknights, not wraithlords.
Near as I can tell, they made eldar constructs as monstrous creatures because they are powered by souls, need no fuel, and can actually feel in a tactile sense as opposed to being linked to sensors.
The wraithknight should be 100 points more, the wraithlord is fine though. Tyranid monsters' point values are all over the place though...

Nope. They are maybe a little bigger than Terminators, on Terminator bases...they are 100% Wraith knights.

If you say so. I guess the dude could be using some model I don't know about, sweetly converted to be kitted out exactly like a wraith knight.
Anywho...the rules are the problem more then the size. Seriously, why did they even come out with Tyranids if the MC action is elsewhere?
Tyranids should have better MCs and GCs than anyone....they are supposed to be the "Monster Army".

"My model is a MC/GMC because it is "PILOTED" by a soul/person/alien/shenanigan."
A tyranid model should be MC/GMC because it is in fact a living organism. But we can't let tau/eldar not have cheese
Anyway. I think Tau should give up all MC/GMC rules and go to walker/SHW, same for Eldar. It should only be considered a MC/GMC if it is a living breathing organism (or maybe not breathing, whatever demons do) If it is wearing a powered suit, it should be a walker not a creature. Sorry tau/Eldar

There where the Bight Stallion and the Towering Destroyer. Not exactly Wraithknights. They where for Epic. Don`t know, if Armourcast had made some.
And yes, the whole tyranidstuff is terrible since 5th edition. They need a complete re-work.

I will agree with anyone who says a Wraithknight should be a walker.
Look at it. It's a walker. Same goes for whatever that Tau walker posing as an MC is.
Just because Monstrous Creatures exist as a category, doesn't mean walkers should be unnaturally placed in the category, when there is a perfectly good Walker category to fill their need. If you want a monster, make a monster model, not a walker.
Especially considering gak like Elder and Tau don't need a stupid"walker-turned- MC" to compete.
So.dumb.

I post this every time someone says the wraithknight should be a walker. The wraithknight is a hybrid. There is a semi pilot who helps the souls bound in the wraithbone be more agile. A wraithknight is simply a larger wraithlord. It can operate without the person inside it but it would just be slower.

I like how nobody even mentions the dreadknight being a MC. I guess nobody is allowed to hate on the army that polls say everyone has at least 1 model of.

There's plenty of hate for the Dreadknight, but it's on the bottom end of the scale since it has to get close enough to either hit you with its flamer or punch you in the face while the other MC's and GMC's that every is complaining about can camp on the other side of the board and wreck your face with impunity.
Not to mentiont hat GK are generally mid-pack at best and require allies (or to be used as allies) to be effective whereas the riptide.stormsurge/wraithknight are all in strong armies that are crushing face and need some (or a lot of) toning down.

Where are you getting this from? People complain about it all the time. Usually followed by "you could just shoot the guy piloting it!"

I'm sure the Dreadnought will not work at all without the SM interred within it.
If it can, then that would be contradictory to the IoM's fear of autonomous AI.

Just because Tyranids are the monstrous creature army doesn't mean that other armies cannot have monstrous creatures.
Like eldar have two monstrous creatures and one gargantuan monstrous creature. Tyranids have something like 15 monstrous creatures, and a few gargantuan monstrous creatures. Tyranids are pretty clearly still the army of monstrous creatures no other army comes close to that number.
You might just have to come to terms with the fact that the term monstrous creature has changed over the course of this games development. The rules are an abstraction, and plenty of it doesn't make 100% logical sense.
