If you glue the whole thing together, are you going to be able to move/store it? Even if you don’t want to swap parts, can you get the monster to the FLGS in one piece? Heck, can you get it through the door?

It does go through the door. It is not larger than a small child.

For transporting it to the FLGS, I will have to hold it carefully while my friend drives us there.

A case big enough for this guy will not be a thing, weapons or no.

Powered Play lights are excellent. The guys who run it are also top notch. I used it to put lights inside my Dreamforge Leviathan crusader (pic in spoiler to not derail the thread)
Spoiler:

I put the main part in the chest and then ran a light into the head and one into each of the smokestacks. I need to go back and make actual smake plumes for it as the pic just has wadded up paper towels to show off the light.

This thing is HUGE! Forge World stuff is comparatively rare over here. I've only seen a couple of the big Tyranid beasties, some Fire Raptors, a Thunderhawk and one buddy has a bunch of the Red Scorpions upgrade stuff.

Yeah, if it was going constantly it would be annoying, if there was a hidden remote control in your pocket that no one else knew about though....it would be awesome

For transportation, I would think you could get a large cardboard box and a lot of foam packing peanuts. That would cushion it against all the bumps. I don't know though, I've never tried to transport a model the size of a small child before.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Ah! An update!

Sorry for the wait, I have been massively preoccupied with everything from Rogue Trader to Overwatch to studies to what have you and it has meant the Titan time rations have been sparse, but today I reached an important checkpoint.

That's right, there is no more to assemble now before painting. I will meet up with my friends, hopefully at some point during this week, and get the initial basecoating done.

Those guns are hellish. Compared to the Titan's body, which was relatively easy to assemble, those guns have been a mess of warping, miscasting, assembling difficulties, all but unreachable mould lines/injection ports and general poor design. They are beautiful but an absolute pain.

I have added a number of brass etch details, both to cover some nearly irreparable miscasting (particularly on the guns, though not visible from the angle in the above picture) and to add iconography displaying the model's allegiance. However, I have applied them only sparingly, as I have a huge transfer sheet to use as well.

These armour plates will be painted separately and attached in the end.

The only way I can figure this update generated no replies, is that everyone was out grilling for Memorial Day (in the US, at least - all the Dakkanauts with other flags I see posting on this page have no such excuse!)

I especially like how all the armor plates are just haphazardly piled on a shelf

I hope the Machine Spirits are not easily offended. If they are, I’m suspecting a lot of bad rolls on the damage charts in her future.

Everything is very impressive looking.

Amusingly, the armour plates were not so bad.

It's those weapons, man. Those weapons are the work of the Dark Gods, I tell you.

We had to postpone the first painting session. In the meantime, I am working on methods of transporting it. Just transporting the body to the gaming club for painting is difficult enough; I have retrofitted a large travel case for this purpose, jam-packing it with bubblewrapping and stuffing the body in there. Nothing has broken so far, so it seems to work, but getting it in and out takes some sleight of hand.

It will naturally not work once the weapons and what have you are on. Now that will be a challenge...

Nothing a little creativity won't cure.

I like the idea of using a travel case with improvised cushioning. I'm gonna have to remember that if I ever have to transport serious large-scale firepower for the gaming table.

AH!

An update!

After lots of bad weather preventing me from continuing even when I had time to do so, I finally got a chance to get sprayin' and prayin'!

Here is my brother (an expert painter) assisting me.

It already makes quite the difference.

We also sprayed the armour plates, with their backs metal and their fronts white.

I have to say, while GW's Leadbelcher spray is solid, the Corax White is terrible and not all that white at all. It's actually pretty grey. I miss the old Skull White!

My Skull White is hiding somewhere, goes to show how much painting I do...

The Warlord is looking pretty good Ash, that's a lot of spraying though, it really is a beast of a thing and I don't think I envy you painting it all up!!

For transporting the model, you should have a rummage around your local industrial estate, see if there's any foam or polystyrene thrown out - there used to be a packaging manufacturer near me and they threw away huge skip loads of foam all the time.
