Subject: Dakka (Unofficial) Painting Challenge Round 16 June 2016: Mighty Heroes and Nefarious Villains
I'm in and hopefully will finish this time. I'll be entering some Doctor Who minis with Davros being the Hero/leader person. A certain Time Lord may appear if I feel brave enough to try.

This is the first month where I find that I'm not racing to complete a team for a tourney, trying to finish work, or busy with sewing...
I'm completely free to paint what I like.
2 pages already, people have certainly been waiting for this one. Good Luck All
I've got many many heros, leaders etc to paint and many more ideas for conversions but trying to work out which one was hard.
Then I watched a trailer for Warhammer Total War and saw they had Grimgor Ironhide as a Orc Hero (I could also have done Azhag the Slaughterer but think I'll be short on time this month to paint a dragon). So that has lead me to my choice.
Proof
Grimgor Ironhide (base not yet arrived)
Spoiler:
Terrible Photo I know I had to use flash in the end, the black just would not come out on the phones camera.

Ah...! They ran a kickstarter.... I almost backed it, but it looked like it wasn't going to come close to being funded, so I passed. No wonder it looks so familiar.
they did yeah - there was some gorgeous other sculpts but it didnt get fully backed sadly. The Nurse was limited release of 300 before the kickstarter so was able to find one at the CMON webstore. She's gonna take a bit of time to finsih as the amount fo detail is nuts! lovely lovely fig though
Okay, I am now officially throwing my hat in the ring. Here's my proof pic:
I think a Bloodthirster of the Sixth Host (Insensate Rage) qualifies as a mighty hero (or a nefarious villain, depending on your point of view). I'm looking forward to getting some paint on this big angry guy!
My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.

I'm throwing my hat into the ring for this one with my Excelsior War-priest from WHQST (and if I can manage it, his Gryph-hound too) Just Vallejo primer and textured paint for the base if that's OK Para?
