I like the yellow; rather than the usual super bright IF yellow you've gone with a more pastel appearance, with a purple fist too. As aov said above, the best part is the cape! Was it hard to do? I've always struggled with making cloth look right.
My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Man, that guy is intense! I did briefly have a second HQ set, but not sure why, or what happened to it, Probably ended up on eBay (and probably came from eBay). The one I've got I've owned from new and looked after and nurtured it over the years. And thanks to you, nurturing it further!
My latest WIP - almost there, just a few details on the Dwarf and Wizard, then the bases.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh, and nice proxy. I guess with HQ you can proxy what you like, it's not 40k or something!

The cape wasn't difficult, but it took longer than I thought to finish. It's a combination of wet blending and glazes. I've been working on wet blending techniques for a few months now and was able to get it close, but it needed a few extra highlight glazes to achieve a level of contrast that I was happy with.

Cheers Sock. Just the bases tones and some shade so far. Kinda in unfamiliar territory here. Never painted much skin before so winging it as I go. We'll see.....
I'm falling behind again. It doesn't help that I just got Imperial Knights: Renegade in the mail and have been chomping at the bit to get that started, plus I'm finishing assembling the last of my Chaos bikers for my Daemonkin army. Maybe what I need to do is force myself to finish the 'thirster completely before I'm allowed to touch the Renegade stuff or any other ongoing projects.

oh the dreaded "new shinies" ...yeah man, I'd say lock the bikes and knights in a cupboard and get the 'thirster done - 1: there's only like a week and a half left until the end of the month, and 2: that thing's gonna look sweet when it's done, and probably give you a good hobby mood/motivation-boost too

Finally started on the Master of Descent himself Alvarex Maun, when Corax is not on the battle field it is Maun that is expected to secure the landing zone

I found some of the detail quite difficult, because as much as I love these minis, the precision of the detail on the sculpt is actually pretty poor. The dwarf was probably the worse - it's almost impossible to tell where beard stops and armour starts! And the elf is supposed to be fairly albino, but not sure on the hair. But other than that I'm pretty pleased.
Dark Angels/Deathwing - just getting started!
Space Marines - Stark Crusaders 4500pts/PL244 (2700pts painted)
Eldar - Biel Tan 2000pts
Space Wolves 1500pts
Stunning standard this month. Am I too late to enter?
Automatically Appended Next Post: Well, on the off-chance that It's still okay for me to enter, here's my proof photo.
I was going to paint a retro Blood Bowl miniature, but I had to try to strip a 25-year-old paintjob off it first. I managed to break my foot with the mini soaking in a tub of dettol in the garage, and for a week or so I wasn't even able to get out there to fetch it! In the end I changed my mind anyway, and went with a nefarious villain instead. So my choice of miniature to paint will be one of the most iconic screen villains of the last twenty years, Heath Ledger's Joker.

Seems I've been away for a few days and theres loads to catch up on, nice to see people progressing and still entering
@feltmonkey you'll be fine, as long as you paint it in the month you can entry any time you like. Interesting model btw.
Whittlesey40k you have a nice retro feel to those Heroquest Characters, good job.
Ustrello the lightening on the sword looks great, I've tried that myself and it didn't come out half as good as that.
My latest WIP, I managed over the weekend, slowly getting there. I'm having to work next weekend and away for the last few days in June so need to push on and finish this week, nothing like a deadline to motivate.

Excellent news. Painting it in time shouldn't be a problem. An advantage of my bad luck with breaking my foot is that I'm off work for the next couple of weeks or so, and I'm not able to get around the house much to do anything, so I've got a great excuse to just sit at my painting table churning out miniatures! In the couple of weeks since breaking it, I've painted about 30 Zombicide zombies, and five or six Super Dungeon Explore miniatures, plus a couple of wrestlers from some WWE board game*. I'm an extremely slow painter, so this level of productivity is unprecedented. I've started basecoating The Joker already, and doing so has made me appreciate what an excellent sculpt it is. In my experience the Knight Models minis can be a bit hit and miss, and often seem to have weirdly short arms (check out the Wolverine mini for example) but the detail and character on this one are amazing. It even has the scars on the face. I'm looking forward to getting in there and trying to bring it to life, I've already got a load of reference pics on my phone. I'm quite excited about painting it! Perhaps next month I'll do something non film-related, which won't lead to me having to try to slavishly replicate a cinematic representation!
*I'm not a WWE fan, so I'm painting these guys to look very silly indeed.
Your latest ork looks pretty special so far. It's interesting to see you doing a more conventional painting job rather than the humourous ones I've seen from you before. It's looking amazing. There are a lot of fantastic paint jobs in the thread this month, as I mentioned. I'm going to end up voting for everyone, I think (except myself - that would be vulgar!)

Well I finished up maun today, so here is my final entry for the competition and here is a bit of fluff for Maun
Spoiler:
Alvarex Maun was a Captain of the Raven Guard during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy who served as Master of Descent. As such, he oversaw his Legion's planetstrike operations.[1]
Alvarex however performed his duties from the frontlines, descending from orbit in the first wave of drop ships and leading the action to secure the landing zone in person. On Isstvan V, he led the landing operations from his personal command Thunderhawk
