Not yet, but having been a subscriber when the changes happened, I'm not expecting much. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Hello all. Not long now until the new White Dwarf. We'll have the first of a few special previews coming very soon, but for now one thing we can tell you is that we've got a page for your letters. So, we want your comments, questions and requests - what you like most about the magazine, what you want to see more of, questions for Grombrindal or the team, and more.
We want to hear from you, so put your missives in the comments - we'll try and respond to as many as we can here and we'll feature the best of them in the magazine. You can always email us at team@whitedwarf.co.uk if you prefer. We look forward to hearing from you!

That's cool. Hopefully they can handle some rules issues here.

Just pre-ordered my subscription. I'm getting one of these ugly things with Issue 1, though? Weird.

Actually, that's not too bad, you'd pay about that for something like Classic Rock or Total Film Magazine, which aren't close to 150 pages and chock full of ads. Assuming the production quality is of a good standard, printed on decent paper ect, then I think that's probably a fair price (and definitely more enticing that 4x£2.55 a month!).

True, but WD is chock full of ads too.

So are most magazines.

But when you strip those ads out, most magazines still have more content.

Plus the ads are usually somewhat relevant (all of the ads in W,S&S or WI are gaming related).

I miss the X-Ray vision glasses they used to advertise in the Comic Books. If I only had those when I lived near the beach...

I'm sure they have an Outlook rule in place already sending anything with the words "Sisters", "SOB", "Squats", "Balanced" or "Chapterhouse" straight to the bin...

I pity whoever has the job of trawling through that email account. I'd expect a lot more than eight emails that make them wish death on all the world including their own poor selves.

Your donation of ugly Khorne dudes is appreciated. In return, we can organise to have you posted a message of thanks from a poor, unpainted Space Marine or Sigmarine who has had nobody to fight until they received your kind donation of assistance. Won't you choose to help out?

Maybe I can put a Space Marine Power Pack on him and he'd be a Counts-As Blood Angels Chapter Master?

Also, I've totes already emailed that email twice...

Yeah, but they'll be reaping what they've sown somewhat. I've often said GW should re-engage, and commonly someone always pipes up with "but that would just be a gak storm of negativity."

It will. I hope they realise that if they push past that and keep going, that in and of itself will go a long way to damping down a lot of the hostility.

I pulled the trigger on a 12 month subscription last WE thanks to a few old WDs I read and this thread. If new-nuWD sucks I'll be mad as hell at y'all! Print is still so much better to read, even if you know the content already. I will miss the artwork on the covers though, I hate the photograph heavy approach of GW nowadays.

(If there's really, no joke, it's real, the hackblade SP on the cover I'll also buy another one and give the mag itself to my brother...if only the axe SP was be in the SC Bloodbound over the hackblade guy)

Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.

Last time I emailed them on that exact subject they were friendly enough - couldn;t help but friendly enough.

I have heard first issue will include a new mission for each of Calth, Execution force, Renegade and Overkill.

Plus rules for the Slaughter Priest in Gorefest or what ever that new Khorne game is called.

Hope this is true as I really like all these box games they have released - I play more of those than 40K!

So, less than two weeks until the new White Dwarf is here! We've heard a lot of suggestions on what you want to see in the new magazine and perhaps the most requested feature has been… battle reports. Well, here's a sneak peek of a little something we think you'll rather like… Excited?

I got a reply from them regarding a question I sent them today, I asked them if they would be featuring narrative campaigns that readers coils adapt themselves. And they responded that this was indeed something that they would be looking to do, but not something they had started yet, and that they were already working on January's issue.

That looks like a proper battle report indeed! Old-School pre-battle smack talk and everything. Looking forward to it.

It is the size and thickness, and even higher paper quality, of the Visions.

My fiance bought me a subscription for my birthday (which is in Sept) so I'm really looking forward to a new read, I did like and prefer the older magazines with conversions and building and terrain tutorials as well as eavy metal painting guides for when you wanted to actually learn and try new things. My biggest gripe on the more recent magazines has been the standard of painting featured :-( I know not everyone can paint like a master but I just loved looking at them all :-)

Is he? I thought the Oct was a comic. Would be awesome to get the Hackblade priest and Kharn but haven't seen that reported anywhere.

I think there are wires getting crossed.

Kharn is expected to be featured in an upcoming issue, not given away with it.

There's an anticipated supplement too, which I took to mean would be again featured, but others seem to feel will be in the mag itself.

Unless there's new information?
