Lost patrol and Assassinorum. (Links in Signature)
I've painted these games up but found their gaming life span lacking.

Lost patrols has all the building blocks of an amazing game; but it's rules are funny bad..
It needs saving.

Assassinorum is an amazing game but with only one level!

Any info yet on these two games?

Does anyone know if Uncancelled Visions Subscriptions carried over?

Panic...

Mine did. I received a letter explaining what was going to happen. If you didn't, it might be worth calling.

I don't think I've ever been this excited for a magazine to arrive. Not only do I get a free mini for my newest army, but I'm excited to know what they're doing with the new Overkill and Silver Tower rules!

Here here!
Maybe worth subscribing again. Not sure how many copies will be made and due to the free mini I've made sure to pre-order from local store.

I'm excited for the content, and while I disagree with their statement of "best cover mount ever" for an AOS model, that's just because I don't play AOS, and there's still appeal to the model for me. I'll have to get creative about using it though, I don't play anything Khorne in 40k and I'm not sure what else I could do. It's a larger model than standard marines, right?

Reading in it for a while, this is a huge improvement and finally back to form.

There are more Marines for use with Deathwatch Overkill. I really hope they have more adversaries to choose from besides Tyranids.

I will use mine as a Dark Apostle for the Khorne part of my CSM army. If you remove the pole sticking out of his back you can glue a backpack on and stick the cut off parts onto the backpack. It is just a minor conversion, add some grenades and a pistol to the belt and he's done. It's a huge model, should be as big as the finecast Dark Apostle. The backpacks from the Possessed kit fit well on naked bodies and I have used them for several AoS/WFB to 40k conversions.

Looks like a load of content there, nice to see old features like Blanchitsu and Parade Ground making a return, and I'm excited to get a look at Illuminations (the art feature), similar articles in the old WDs were always good.

It's nice to see the boxed games receive some love. In the olden times, WD often did similar things in the form of scenarios and campaigns for Warhammer Quest, Space Hulk and the like. Back then they also ran cardboard tiles in the magazine a lot, or cut-out-and-stick-on-cardboard-yourself ones in even earlier issues.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Hmm, Grombrindel must have a Slayer twin brother who loves to leap in the same pose off of the same Dwarfin (dwarfish?) ruins.... He's only $20

The slayer is still up on the webstore for a bargain $21...

Totally different Dwarfs. One is way older and wearing purple pants.

Just because you cherry picked an image from the Old World's final synchronized Rune leaping event doesn't make them twin brothers.

Dude, the Craghammer Brothers totally got robbed of the gold in that competition. How do you give a 7.4 for that perfectly-executed synchronized Double Leg-Over? That's what you get when you let a Sylvanian judge the contest!

The current WD team must be confident in the new content if they're going to be brave enough to look back at 90s issues in the magazine.

If you look around online you'll be able to find the original rules (which are superior), as well as free "expansion" rules that Jake published on his blog.

Is that first part a mistake? It's honestly the one thing I never expected to read in a post about white dwarf, ever!

Lots of articles mistake? Content had quite a many titles didn't it? But pretty much all AOS garbage or to board games I don't have. Deathwatch review isn't enough to save me. Looks at new products was never what got me to buy WD anyway as it's just "buy this new awzum product!" articles. All they could say I have generally read before already...

What I want is new HOBBY material for games I play. Didn't see any of that. Ergo skip it.

Well, my first issue has just arrived this morning.

I preordered a years sub for £50, so I guess they are sending out early for subs which is nice.

Haven't had chance to look at it yet though.

While I'm sorry you feel that way, please do not turn this thread into an AoS-bashing fest. I'm sure there will be plenty of material in the future issues for you to go at.

That's a welcome return. I hated when the subscribers got it 3 days after everyone else, when all of the cool new releases were already sold out.

I'm still sorely tempted by that mini.If anyone want the magazine but not the mini, PM me

Better AoS than "Space Marines, guest staring a random nod to xenos players". This is a magazine for a company that makes more than one game.

I for one am excited to grab a copy. Free model is cool too.

Mine's just arrived too, and at a glance I'm impressed. Seems there's a lot of content jammed in there, the production quality is definitely up to scratch (good quality paper, well-printed ect). Once I've given it a proper read I'll put together a more comprehensive review, but as a first impression, it reminds me very much of the last iteration before the Weekly, but polished up a bit.
