@chikout I heard when the news of new WD came out it would be hobby looking back on the month before, so it won't be much into what's ahead. But we'll see very soon

It may be both. Given the advance notice we're getting of releases, it might be a "two weeks forward, two weeks back" sort of affair.

Once I saw the first issue's cover provides extra rules for most of the board games I have on my shelf, I pulled the trigger and subscribed. May wind up regretting it but I've got my fingers crossed.

This would actually be a nice balance I think. It gives the magazine something unseen to promote in the news section, and let's them do interviews for the older stuff.

Me too.

If nothing else I'll have a few models to paint or sell on Ebay.

Isn't WD supposed to come out Septermber 2nd? I have a copy reserved at a newsagent and a subscription, but I don't want to miss out on the reserved copy because of an early release!

Really happy to hear several FLGS are limiting this WD to one issue per customer.
We had folk buying 12 of the previous one to get units, and fething over everyone who wanted the regular release.

My store simply asked people who wanted more than one to pre-order it. I don't think there is a constraint to the number of copies they could order, but I think they placed the order quite a long time ago.

I'm pumped!

TBF this is just the recycled Gorechosen box art. It's not as if they actually commissioned a piece specifically for this cover, so it might just be a one time thing.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Yeah, the art on old WD's was from other sources/books/box cover art. Occasionally some art that was going to appear somewhere else debuted on a cover of WD, but it's not like they were commissioning new pieces each month.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Just a quick note - if you did the sub offer in the UK, check your bank account, I just noticed that they inexplicably took and then refunded the direct debit for mine on Thursday.

Not that fussed myself given the AoS-heavy slant of the first issue, but if you were actually looking forward to yours you might want to double check it worked right.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

The product information states it's just a place holder cover and not the cover for September 2016.

I can't see that anywhere. Plus they posted that cover on Facebook saying 'here it is, the cover of the new format White Dwarf...'

If I remember correctly, that was a proviso added to the new monthly WD sub page when the sample cover shown was a photo that had previously graced a weekly WD cover (Tau Riptide or something).

Yeah. The Tau cover had a statement that it wasn't the actual cover for September.

Can't wait for this to turn up, haven't bought a white dwarf for years now but hoping this new version takes me back to the old 90's, early 2000's white dwarfs.
Might be asking a bit much but we'll soon see. Plus a free mini to boot is always good. Sure beats another marine.

Yeah,
Very much looking forward to new rules for
Lost patrol and Assassinorum. (Links in Signature)
I've painted these games up but found their gaming life span lacking.

Lost patrols has all the building blocks of an amazing game; but it's rules are funny bad..
It needs saving.

Assassinorum is an amazing game but with only one level!

Any info yet on these two games?

Does anyone know if Uncancelled Visions Subscriptions carried over?

Panic...
