[center]CULT MECHANICUS WIP

I've always loved Tech Priests, and that whole twisted organization. This blog will feature WIP pics as I try to build and paint Cult Mechanicus units.

My color scheme is a combination of greens, gold and checkerboard patterns (with lots of dirt and battle damage). I'll give some parts of their uniforms a dirty bone color in order to provide contrast and prevent the army from looking too dark. Plasma coils and other glowing, nasty technology will be an electric blue. The theme for my bases will be decay: rusty metal, slimy algae and sickly mushrooms.

My Dominus (Completed)

Lovely green mate! Are you building any FW models?

Your automata's pose is really well executed ! What's the plan for your army?

Thank you both for your compliments

Teban> The only FW models I'm currently working on are some Imperial Fists Cataphractii Terminators and a Contemptor Dreadnought (you can see it here):

My plan so far for my Cult Mechanicus is to use it for formations, and use those formations as allies for my Imperial Fists. A Cohort Cybernetica or an Elimination Maniple could certainly be handy. I intend to convert as many of the models as possible. The Dominus can also be used to lead a Dominus Maniple (Skitarii), which is nice as I'm also slowly building a Skitarii force.

Such bright colourful colours, it looks fantastic. Love the conversions you've done as well. I'm looking forward to seeing how this force grows.

Ah! thats the reason :O

I really like the weathering you're doing on your Imperial Fists - Certainly different from my own. Its always nice to see more people painting them up!

You should consider adding an ordinatus... just saying

A WIP shot of my Cybernetica Datasmith conversion. I didn't want two identical Datasmith models, so I bashed this guy together out of bits. He still needs a lot of shading, highlights and love.

I thought I'd make some converted Electro-priests, some who are more grimdark than those in the box.

Very creepy techpriest, I Like the colors you've chosen, as they are sure to stand out. How do you plan to keep the colors cohesive throughout the army?

Thank you My plan is that all the miniatures will have green and gold elements, while other parts may vary. I hope those two colors will be enough to clearly show that they are "on the same team".

Work in Progress:

A converted Kastelan Robot (the kind with three guns). I'm not a fan of the original models, but I love big stomping robots. Therefore, I decided to convert some models. The idea of throwing vast amounts of phosphor firepower in the enemy's general direction is very appealing to me, and these automatons seem suitable for that job.
