The assassin could be used for the "Prey Stalker" scenario, which is tailored around this sort of seed, or is this too upsetting to suggest?
Maybe give the assassin a single extra USR from the Kill Team specialist selection to spice things up (and somewhat make up for the inevitable +/- 50pts difference in points), then have a go at it in a cover heavy setting.
I did talk with my brother about doing something like that, his nobs trying to hunt down a lone Eversor.

I did talk with my brother about doing something like that, his nobs trying to hunt down a lone Eversor. 
I remember a scenario in White Dwarf (late 90's, early 00's) doing something similar - I think it was an assassin trying to kill an Imperial Guard Commander. The regular guards followed "Metal Gear Solid Logic" - patrolling in fixed routes and could only see in the direction they were facing out to 12" or so. If the assassin was spotted the alarm was sounded and the Guard player took normal control. It was a fun way to kill an evening or two.

Has anyone tried imperial guard rough riders? They're cheap, and can maneauver well, and can kill a marine in the charge fairly easily - they're weaker in regular 40k, because they die to overwatch with low model count...
5 of them run you 11 melta bombs. You could field 10 of them + a veteran squad of 10 bodies, with points left over for upgrades. On top of that, you can give the sergeant a melta bomb.
One issue is charging through cover with one counts as dangerous terrain for calvary - a risk... could specialist one for move through cover however.

Still awfully squishy though, as they're still just simple Guardsmen with a boost to movement and a single use buff on their attacks, if they can get the assault off.

it puts me at 190, im not sure where to spend the last ten,
With the way the Peltasts guns work and the fact that the dragoons are bosshoss, im not sure what it really is weak to ,,,

Gonna jump in late here and I'm sure someone has already ran this but!
3 x Black Knights - Stock
5 x Scouts - 4 sniper rifles and ML
1 Sniper has Relentless, ML has Ignores Cover, 1 BK has Counter Attack.
Had a lot of success with this so far. Use the Snipers to take out anything with Ignores cover so my bikes can jink. And so fare vehicle list haven't been an issue at all with all the plasma. Plus 4 attacks on the charge with the bikers at +1 Strength, Rending is pretty nice.

Yes this is basically my build and I've won local Kill Team tournaments with it. I do give the four scouts close combat weapons except one with a heavy bolter because that's what I had modeled. Camo cloaks are also good; cover is very important in Kill Team, and Ignoring it is even better. Automatically Appended Next Post: My specialists are one Black Knight with Feel No Pain, another with Ignores Cover, and the heavy bolter scout has the psuedo-Split Fire rule.

is that more legal? i was under the impression you took models as singles and didnt have to keep them "size" legal, is there anything i need to add to it? any wargear thats unbearable to not have?

Hi guys, I hope I'm not necromancing too much with this thread but I wanted to ask about my list and didn't want to start a whole new thread for it, so here goes.
I have a Kill Team tournament coming up this Sunday and I think I figured out a list to face most threats efficiently. The tournament has a 15 models max. rule and we can chose the Warlord trait from the Kill Team table.
5x Vanguards - Warlord with Taser Goad, Phosphor Blast Pistol and Refractor Field - Warlord trait Zealot
- 1 Arc Rifle with Eagle Eye (+50% weapon range) specialist trait
5x Rangers - Alpha with Eternal Warrior specialist trait
- 1 Ranger with Preferred Enemy specialist trait
1x Sydonian Dragoon with Taser Lance
I've run a 10x Rangers with one Arquebus + 1 Dragoon list at a previous tournament and got beaten at three out of four games, most of the time due to poor tactical decisions from me, but also because of fast CC units facing me that I couldn't always shot down. So in this list I'm placing some Vanguards to deal with high T like Wraiths and improve my odds in CC with their T debuff. The Dragoon is an absolute beast that make its points back a few times and is a nice makeshift anti-armor (killed two Sentinels in one game) so I'm keeping him.
I don't know how it will turn out, however my main concerns are that two players will bring Eldar lists, one with 7 Scatterbikes and the other with like 3 Scatterbikes and some Hawks. How do I deal with that ? There's chances that I can playtest my list against their on this Friday but any tactical advice are welcome !

Depending on how RAW your group is Peltasts and the other one can technically only be used as elites in a skitarii maniple and not a kill team detachment.

I'm getting back into 40K after being out for years and wanted to test the waters with Kill team. So I bought the boxed set and some crisis suits to run. We'll be haing friendly games to start with a few other people that are new as well. I know one will be playing orks. Here's what I have so far.
rying to finish my Kills team list and I'm down to the last 14 points but am struggling to decide how best to use them. List so far.
2 XV8 Crisis Suits- 1 with dual missile launcher (will be my team leader) 1 with Dual Plasma Specialist-Sharpshooter = 104pts
8 Fire warriors w pulse rifles and 1- SMS turret-82pts (ignores cover so I thought this might be useful in KT)
Leaving 14 points left over. so...
Do I take 1 more fire warrior for 9 and maybe add twin linked to either the plasma Crisis or Missile Crisis +5 ? and if so which is the better one to add the linked to.
Do I give each suit an additional twin linked weapon = +10pts and bonding knife ritual +2 pts to help with morale checks?= 12pts
Or do I take a shield drone for one of the crisis to improve survive ability +12 and bonding ritual for each +2 ?
Or do I dial dack one of the weapons on a Crisis Freeing up 5-15 points and go with 10 FW (2 squads of 5 each with a SMS?)
OHHHH the options make my head spin.!!!!
What would you do I'd love to hear peoples thoughts.

Shield drones are also units of their own and do not "attach" to characters or crisis suits. While they are nice on the table for holding objectives, they are a bit wasted. If you want drones, go for a gun drone instead.
Having more models on table certainly isn't a bad idea, makes taking break tests a bit harder and makes you more flexible when it comes to nabbing objectives or making a break for the enemy table edge in infiltrate the camp.

Wait so in Kill team if you take a shield drone or other drone for that matter it can move independently? So I am assuming to confer the invul save it must maintain some type of unit cohesion to the unit it's shielding?.
