Quick question, if you were going to choose rules to represent the Power Armored brotherhood of steel, which codex would you choose?

I'd start from some iteration of Space Marines, keep with the power-armoured Paladins alongside carapace-armoured Knights aspect. Where are you getting models?

I was thinking either Blood Angels or Dark Angels, or just run one of the codex: space marine ones.

Space Marine vanilla codex would be the best. They don't have any crazy rage stuff or a super cathedral motif.

I like it. I'd go Iron Hands or Imperial Fists if I were you, try and get a Chapter where the line infantry are the point rather than trying to work out how to shoehorn bikes/jump packs/Terminator armour into the aesthetic.

Salamanders, man. They are down with the forges and stuff.

... though, actually, I'd probably try to find some heavy support options in the AdMech book, since the BoS are tech-heads first, soldiers second.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

That's actually a point. The robot models in the link aren't necessarily to scale, but the weird-energy-weapon angle is covered nicely by the Skitarii and the bots could be Kataphrons.

Which book is the Imperial Militias in? I was planning a NCR guard army, and that sounds like it might be perfect.

Still waiting for Godot.

I was thinking of allying a space marine chapter with Imperial Guard, since the Cadians already look similar to the pre war troop/NCR troops, and I can't imagine FallOut tanks are super different from them, but I could do AdMech, and space marines, or even go crazy and do AdMech, SM, and imperial guard/militarum Tempestus?

I disagree.

Brotherhood of Steel are in the end, HUMANS, wearing power armour. They're not genetically modified superhumans (AKA not space marines). That's part of their ethos - they're 'pure' humans (granted not to Enclave level but still).

Therefore I'd say if you wanted to represent the Brotherhood (and don't care about competitiveness) use the Inquisition Codex, specifically Acolytes with power armour (add special weapons to taste).

It's points inefficient and downright weaker than Space Marines but they match the Brotherhood fluff-wise.

See my earlier post, I too thought Space Marines would not be fitting.

I do like that Inq idea, except the point sink for them. I would rather run Tempestus, I think it's a middle ground at least. For the 30k recommendation, I can't run them in 40k can I?

Are the people you play particularly picky? There isn't really anything that makes the IM&C broken compared to other armies.

I play at my local GWs, so while the peeps might not be, idk about the store manager.

Well, if we're going for humans in power armor, your best starting point could be Sisters of Battle, as they are just that.

Its an official GW Product, they shouldn't give you any grief. Or Im just lucky in that the GW I go to encourages people to try FW, even allows the occasional homebrew unit from what I have seen.
