Not with the stuff that's in it. It has everything I expected which is all the new stuff put into one package. Which is nice.

I'm disappointed that these "updated data sheets" are pretty much not there. Scouts? Still BS 3 but cost the same as Vanilla. Termies haven't gone down to vanilla point costs. Vanguard still have to pay original power weapon cost. That's just naming a few.

What the hell? Was it just a lazy reprint? Did they make a mistake and forgot to put in the new costs and stuff? This really sucks if it's intensional because it means they're still not up to date with every other marine codex...

They haven't even updated the Dreadnaughts attacks to 4 base (which they said they got in the FAQ). GW... What are you doing?

It's abundantly clear that none of the rules writers give a damn about BA. They just want to push out the book marketing asked for and go back to the armies they actually like.

I though scouts were always bs3 did i miss somthing?

Also its been the status quo for them to have interns copy pasta all the things without really checking.

Yeah, check the vanilla Dex. Scouts have BS4 now.

And yeah I really hope so. I really hope things have actually been updated and this isn't the final update, because nothing has been updated except for Grav-Cannons being a thing. In fact, this book even says that Heavy Flamers are Sternguard only haha.

Good job GW. I seriously hope that this wasn't what they intended

The most recent Space Marine codex has them BS4.

The Traitor's Hate book has a box that allows Predators and Vindicators to be taken in squadrons of 1-3, like the Space Marine codex.

They could have chosen to bump scouts to BS4, Dreadnought attacks to 4, and fix some points. But they did not.

Sounds like the tail is wagging yet the head doesn't know. Do these chaps even read their own rules?

Serious consistency and quality control issues clearly need to be addressed if GW want the fanbase to believe they give a feth other than for your hard earned.

....and get spellcheck GW, the number of typos you see in codices is mad.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

For 5th and 6th you would be correct, for 4th and 7th Scouts atleast for everyone who aren't Blood Angels are BS and WS4.

Well, it seems odd giving Scouts BS3 in light of the Draft FAQ:

Then it most likely is just the people writing the codex being lazy and not putting in the right info.

I really hope so haha and I hope they update it with the right info soon. It was a $70 Ebook in Aus...

On the other hand, it's a draft FAQ.

I do find it funny that they pride themselves on what they put out, charge an arm and a leg for it, but can't bother to clarify things before releasing it or put the effort in to maybe readjusting some things since it, you know, gives them a perfect opportunity to do so. Each of these supplements could have updated datasheets for units that need adjustments or stat change, actually try to fix the game's issues.

Instead it's just lazy throw some stuff in, add another couple formations, slap a $50 price tag on and it along with a $150+ collector's edition, and move on.

It makes more sense that its just a bad cut and paste job rather than a deliberate change to the draft FAQ. With the way production works, I wouldn't be surprised if Angel's Blade was written before the FAQ was.

Well I'll be getting the Angel's Blade hard back on Monday so I'll get to see how it compares with the Red Thirst edition codex. If anyone gets it before me, let me know how they compare

I'm not suggesting the draft faq has been changed, I'm saying the draft faq is a draft. The final faq hasn't been issued. Therefore I wouldn't have expected any of the proposed changes to be reflected in digital supplements yet.

If they update the digital supplements when the faqs have been finalised and published, then that's what they'll do.

alanmckenzie - the FAQ portion is a draft, but the Errata is listed as official. I think Ghaz is right. They probably sent the book to print before the Errata was released.

I thought it was only the dreadnought attacks errata which had been made official?

Was under the impression that it's the only official errata so far.

Edit. They've definitely sent the book to print before the draft faq was released.

FAQ says scouts are 4, the FAQ says all Marines dreads/brutes are equally fighty. That's some horsegak for a $50 book

like mentioned above: I'm 90% sure that this book was sent to be printed before the FAQ brought everyone's scouts/dreads to the same level.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

What about the points costs for power weapons for vanguard and termies not being brought up to date as well?

I'd laugh pretty hard if they printed this book before they even considered actually updating everything haha

Not lending much credit to the idea that Roundtree was gonna get the company turned around. We're starting to hit the point where any blame can no longer be placed on Kirby.

If this kind of shenanigans doesn't stop soon 40k is not gonna be able to recover

I totally agree. After being the Marine underdog for a long time they deserve a lot better than a half assed "update".

Wait a sec, the order that the documents are released matters.

1. So, BA Codex comes out first, has BS3 scouts.

2. Then, Angel's Blade comes out, no revision on scouts.
The combined digital version is just BA codex + Angel's blade, so scouts and dreads are not updated.

3. At some point, the FAQ will be finalized and released. Then, that will supercede all the predecessors, updating scouts and dreads.

At that point, BA scouts will be officially BS4 for good, because it patches the codex (both the original and combined editions) Til 8e...

Yeah but that doesn't work for the termies still being over priced and stuff unfortunately, so some things still won't be fixed :/

Man the Black Templars got royally screwed haha. I admit that they were treated even worse than Blood Angels and I highly respect anyone who sticks with them. I've never really looked into nids but I've heard they drew the short straw too.

I'd personally like Blood Angels to play something like the Dark Eldar or Militarum Tempestus. Fast and hit like super sonic hammers but, if not played right, get tabled quickly. Risk and reward, intense and quick. All about well timed charges into combat from well placed positions
