BOLS have a preview of the code here http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2016/09/genestealer-cults-what-is-the-goliath.html

Had a quick scan of the contents page they posted and couldn't see anything that hasn't been mentioned/speculated so far - though I might not be reading it right (cue Hudson from Aliens quote)

One of those pictures in the BoLS preview confirms the unit list. The Patriarch/Magus/Primus aren't named so you will get multiples, just maybe not in the same detachment. Chimeras, both Armored and Scout Sentinels, Leman Russ Squadrons (I'm guessing not the siege/Demolisher box variants but just the ones in the standard kit), etc. I'm assuming the "Acolyte Iconward" are the Astra Militarum infantry...that or the Acolyte Hybrids are a dual kit? Might be that Astra Militarum infantry are drawn from Allies. Interesting stuff.

They have the rules for the Goliath too.

So its not an open topped trukk like vehicle,it is a disguised and buffed chimera.

Those are the rules for the Rockgrinder, it might be that the normal Goliath is a proper open-topped transport.

It doesn't show what the weapons are, but yes, definitely a buffed Chimera. If only we could tell what the Drilldozer Blade does...also, the weapon upgrades look cheap. The six firing points is nice.

They have the book but are refusing to show it to us instead they drip feed it :\
Yay. Also those rules aren't the interesting part what is interesting is what that deff rolla / drill thingy does.

The rock grinder variant is a tank and not open topped. I suspect the standard goliath is open topped. It looks reasonably durable at 12-10-10.

See me latest comment It's the Rockgrinder, the standard one might be quite a bit different...maybe. The image confirms what the points cost of the Rockgrinder is which is nice, based on what the equipment is like it looks like it might be worth it as that Rugged Construction rule is really good for a transport o have.

BoLS will be BoLS, they use the excuse that we should buy the codex but it's painfully obvious they will drip feed to generate interest in the website and get clicks. Meh, it's their prerogative I guess.

As it stands the mining laser is an improvised version of the lascannon- it stands to reason that they are ripoffs of the grav guns and heavy flamers respectively.

If the seismic cannon had a modifier based on a models cover save rather than armour save it would have have great synergy with the 'ambush' rules that have been rumoured. It will be a great way to keep units out of cover you'll want to infiltrate!

I bet the Heavy Stubber will be something along the lines of Range 36", S4 Heavy 3

Acolyte Iconward - I guess that's the old standard bearer. I wonder if he's a HQ choice.

I note that the truck says it can transport 6 models with no caveats. IE it can carry 6 stealers.

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Unless the Purestrain and Patriarch entries or the army special rules say otherwise.

Unless it says in the 'stealer entry that they cannot ever embark on transports or other vehicles?

So let's be honest, who will be thinking of this theme ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYKss7_QzYI ) when fielding their GSC?

GSC is nothing really like Xenomorphs, and if it is just the construction tool motiff for the power lifter that is rather limited in scope and scale because there is not even a power lifter in this release.
Aliens would be Tyranids. Playing Tyranids makes me think of Aliens (or Starship Troopers depending on the list)

For this I would think of something more along the lines of In the Mouth of Madness or maybe The Hills Have Eyes

Hmm good news for me is I have lots of Sentinels and 2 old Russes. Now it's just a matter of finding out about the  Astra Militarum detachments...

The News and Rumors section is all about surprises. I'd certainly hate it if we got 100 posts saying "I know something you don't know..." - malfred

Why do i feel like the Acolyte Iconward will act like a Company Command Squad?

I was thinking the music itself would lend to the idea of tension building and then suddenly the trap sprung with no way out, but I suppose you do have a point. (Though I find the Genestealers, Purestrains especially, embody the Xenomorph more than the Tyranids as a whole, but that is my opinion.)

If the iconward is a character option then I'll be picking up the neophytes box and the start collecting Astra Militarum box and converting the commissar

No option for Brood Brothers, but a chimera entry is interesting.

I even suspect the Goliath RockGrinder's AV of 12/10/10 is better than the Goliath Truck because of the drilldozer. I would imagine the truck to have a higher capacity yet only AV 10 or 11 in the front. That would make the chimera a more useful inclusion if you wanted the higher AV transport that could carry 12 models.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

Guessing the Acolyte Iconward is a character and is the model we have seen in the preview pics with the extra large icon/ banner thing.

I'd say so since its pictured next to the patriarch and away from the squad of acolytes.

It would be cool if the Genestealer claws shown in the transport(not the dozer bladed one) was an option to add a single purestrain one to buff the squad. Kinda like a "RELEASE THE KRAKEN!"

Wait... what happened to Brood Brothers? How is there a conversion kit for Cadians but no unit to represent it in the codex? Very strange if they release a conversion kit that's meant to be used with units from another codex...

GSC are rumored to "Allies of Convenience" with Astra Militarum - which makes it easy to ally them in.

It also means I can have my Deathstrike "Doomsday Weapon" with a very small tax of an HQ and a squad of Veterans.

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!
