Thing is, if they are making these to order (as is claimed), then there shouldn't be any issue with casting sufficient of each model - unless the original master is damaged and the mould wears out, I guess.
Just seems odd they'd refund you without contacting you, which is why I'd suggest contacting them.
*looks at GW site*
Does anything show up if you look at the order within your account?

You absolute madman. Assembling those was one of my worst hobby experiences.
I've always felt that the metal wraiths were hideous, and refused to buy them.
The Metal Spyders are superior to me, than their modern counterpart. The look more like purpose built machines, and not GIANT ROBO SPIDERS !! Plus, they share some design aesthetic with the Destroyers. Have 9 already though, so not really looking for them made to order.
I like the metal Wraiths. I've got 4 of 'em, all painted up. They look cool.
But how are people being refunded for a "On Demand" service. You can't run out of something when it's a make on demand service. That doesn't make sense.

The old wraiths look 1,000 times better than the new ones.
Really?
Madness. The Canoptek Wraiths are one of the creepiest, most alien, coolest looking models in their range. The old ones look like cartoons. Not everything needs to be anthropomorphic.
Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Cartoons in this sense?
Spoiler:
Anyway, checking my a/c order it is indicating that the order amount is €0 and 'pending'. I presume that this is the way they are doing these Made to Order requests...get interest and charge when they have the stuff actually made?!

No, Cartoons in the sense that they took a human torso and elongated the spinal column and gave it bigger shoulder pads
Spoiler:
Have you ever seen a snake move, or stand it place like that ? The answer is no. They coil to stand in place and slither to move. The metal wraiths should be much lower to the ground and their serpentine portion of their body should be curved, in either a coil or S like shape. Their sculpt defies gravity and logic.
If they looked more like this, the half man thing would be more tolerable.
Theyre not supposed to move like snakes though, theyre supposed to float. Obviously gw dont quite have the technology to build gravity defying models yet though
Personally i think both designs look really good and creepy and its a shame the old wraiths couldnt be given a different role to the new ones. The new ones being more sinister guardian/sentry/repair robot and the old ones being the creatures that hunt you down and kill you when necrons are on the offensive for example

I could imagine them "swimming" through the air, like a sea snake through water. The old, upright pose they had never looked right to me. They would have indeed looked better if their tail was coiled around something, like some poor guardsman. I do like the old wraiths, and I liked the lore for them too; before wraiths were a necron (not a drone) which specialized in assassination and "acquiring" surgical samples.
I think there was also a bit of fluff in one of the white dwarfs that revealed that the wraiths were necrontyr psychopaths and murderers, which added to the horror factor.
The new wraiths are just maintenance robots. Its a nice model, but I wished they kept the old psychopathic snake types and gave the maintenance droids a different name.
Yes, the old wraiths were a pain to assemble. So were most metal models back then. Pariah scythes tended to break, metal slaan tended to fall over, metal deff dreads also tended to fall over, lose a leg and their banner.
Are old flayed ones available? Because those are so much better than the current version.

Cough..Cough...that was actually pretty funny ... Cough Cough..
On Topic: I'd like to see the 1 piece monopose Thousands Sons Marines again. They were easy to assemble and got the point across that all the Thousand Sons were now just identical automatons and not individuals.

Is there a finished product? Because that's pretty damn great looking.

I'm fairly certain GW still sell those, except they're sold as part of a 4 pack with the other monopose cult marines.

Don't know how your card works but if I use debit(not credit) option and store does not actually take money when order is done(but rather during shipping) then initial payment comes back to my account only to be taken later. Sure something similar might not have been case here? When does GW generally bill their orders? During order or during shipment.
I have one store I regularly use that bills on shipment. If I preorder something pretty quaranteed that initial deduction from account is returned and then charged later. Have once had my account go into negative due to exchange rate changing between order and shipping date!

I called and my bank takes the mine when I order, and usually gives it when is dispatches. Since it took over 5 days they gave back the money.

Must have went well enough to extend it or it went bad enough they needed more days to get orders in. I am sure we will never know.

Yeah, I dropped some coin. Honestly, the prices weren't too bad when compared to current models, and I'd rather get new fresh models than scrounge for hard to find OOP stuff.
Which is why if they put Praetorians on Made to order, I'll be blowing the webstore up....

That's if those moulds still exist.
One of the more fanciful rumours I heard in the past was that a high up at GW thought the Praetorians were a joke that got out of hand, hence why they went off sale before the other 2nd Ed IG models that proceeded them.
Pinch of salt required maybe but I couldn't see them as being any less popular than the other regiments.
Like you though, I wouldn't object to being able to pick some up direct again.

They didn't go fully OOP until the end of Bitz, or roughly around the time a whole bunch of stuff went OOP. I remember ordering some in around 2005 direct from GW, and the 2005 catalogue still lists a ton of 2nd edition stuff:
Admittedly, I think 2004-2005 is when they stopped making a lot of RT era stuff even on bitz order. But Praetorians were available until the end of bitz ordering.

I only got the Techpriest Enginseer 1 that recently went OOP; same price as Techpriest Enginseer 2 which is still available. M2O turns out to be cheaper and easier than hunting eBay, and there's no worries about wasting money on counterfeit / recast.
I don't understand why GW won't do a flash sale on Praetorians, as they're probably the most-requested IG line to bring back. Not that I'd add any as they wouldn't match my Tallarn. OTOH, metal Cadians? Yeah, I could use a squad or two.
