A little bit back to Fantasy. Do you see people that are asking for a disturbing amount of 5th and 6th edition and Perry models? Cant help to ask: Where these sculptors, a part of the success of 5th and 6th edition sales?

Oddly sold that same chaplain on a bike on ebay recently - he's a skinny marine. He still goes for $25-30 used ironically so that is a good price for NIB

So I decided to pick up the Black Templar Captain for the hell of it. I hate helmetless heads, so I am going to need to cut his head off to put a helmet on. What exactly am I going to need to accomplish this without damaging the rest of the miniature. I may take his axe off and give him a Thunder Hammer as well.

Wire cutters to cut off the top half of the head, and a good Dremel tool to carve out the rest. Green stuff to replace any detial lost from removeing the cables around the head. You will want a few diffrant dremel bits,
More or less going to be alot of blood and sweat on that. So take your time.

In that case, I think I am just going to cancel my order for him. I will have to find something different.

There are a few perks with old metal minis. Ease of conversion is not one of them. I’ve worked a few over with clippers, knives, files, and a dremel, and some are easier to work with then others. But it’s not nearly as simple as plastic and resin.

Swaping heads off metal models blows. I don't blame you.
How thick the neck is will decide how hard it is to remove, and sadly the neck cables add a lot of thickness to the neck.

I am thinking I might decapitate the Chaplain and get him a helmet somehow. If not that, a better head (I want my Marines to have hair!). Part of me wants to cut the helmet off the back piece, but that could be difficult to accomplish. Cutting his head clean off shouldn't be hard though.

I think it's been more successful than GW imagined and it's simply taking longer than expected to fulfill people's orders; they probably don't want to have too much of a backlog.

SKWAAATZ!
Ahem... so we got IG, Chaos and Marines/Imperial.
Eldar should be a safe bet, a lot of classy old models now OOP, original Aspect Warriors and such.
MOAR MARINEZ is always a safe bet too.
Orks, not so much, There was a big aesthetic change with 3rd edition and I doubt there's a huge demand for RT/2nd edition Orks. Could be wrong but...
My dream would be to see the original RT adventurers back.
As an outside bet, how about BFG to tie in with the video games. Probably too late though, a few months ago would have been great.

Some of the Gorkamorka stuff isn't too bad. Maybe the Bioniks sets? There are also a number of metal Dreadnaughts (my fave is the 2nd ed one... that sells for about £8 on e-bay :/) and smaller vehicles, though I can't see them doing plastic (do the old Battlewagon, I'll buy a brace!). The ole wartrack is still being manufactured, so maybe the Skorcha? A small collectors set of RT Orks could be nice... a PA Ork, one of the standards, the original weirdboy, a mek, a painboy and that ltd ed musician with the gramophone and bag of WHAM! records (a favorite of mine) maybe?
Most RT stuff is either too small (most space marines, Orks, etc), a bit funky (guard and some of the eldar - the aspects are still good though) or just Verboten! (Squats, Jokaro, Slann, anything with tits).

There are some out-of-print Ork models that would fit within the current range. If they ever ask for Orks, here is my (realistic) want list:
Ork Kommando with Burna
Ork Kommando with Big Shoota
Big Mek with Kustom Forcefield
Big Mek with Big Shoota
Thieving Grots
Inquisitive Grots
Ammo Runts (including those from Kaptin Badrukk's Flashgtiz box)
Out of classic models, I wouldn't mind seeing Gorkamorka characters such as Red Gobbo or Nazgrub Wurrzag.

Another left field pick might be Rogue Trader era Genestealer Cults.
I have an old Patriarch but not his throne and I'd love to get that model.
Some of them are problematic because they were supposed to go wtih OOP arm sprues but I think there's enough 1 piece models they could do a run.

I can't see the ol' Tomb Kings range on the website but the Ghorgon and Cygor are kits I'd like to get my paws on, I'm somewhat hopeful too given that they are at least recognized on the site as 'temporarily out of stock'!
I am secretly hoping that they'll feature in a Start Collecting set as the big gribbly!
That said, I think I recall that all of the 'made to order' stuff has been metal so far? In which case, roll on the dogs of war!
Quick edit: Errr, just seen that you can still buy the Cygor in the US... You jammy bastards!

When they asked, the Over whelming response was for kislev models.
Considering I got my Deamonnettes Just before Christmas, that order seemed to have cause a huge blacklog. I didn't wait nearly as long to get my female inquisitors and plasma Gun priests. I have a feeling they want to make sure their is ,no chance of a Black Log if Kislev ends up being as big of a deal as the Diaz Deamonettes.
I know I will be picking up some Kislev Models for the sake of collecting, and because they will make for great Human Gaurds in a Eastren European themed D&D campaign.

Yeah I hope they do a large selection of models for the Order factions (Old WHFB Empire, Dogs of War etc). If not then I hope they do a few windows with models that fit under this heading. I agree on Kislev featuring prominently. I saw a good few suggestions for Teutogen Guard and Dogs of War as well so if they have the moulds and are that way inclined they should really give all these models a run!

I don't think there is any siecific timeline. It all depends on whomever is doing ithow long it takes to complete. I don't think this service is going away anytime soon since they directly called it out as a source of revenue in the fiscal report.
