I don't think it matters among friends. 500 pts can be a portion of another teammates army.

OK, got help from some of the local 30k guys. I'm golden.

I can take the existing 15 marines I've got painted and re-arrange them into two vet squads & just call my existing commander a Praetor or Delegatus Consul with "Pride of the Legion" RoW. Just have to do a rush paint job on a bunch of expensive stuff that's fast to build and paint. Siccaran, termies, finish up my two dreads... maybe do another... whatever I can find that will eat up points with a minimum of effort.

This won't be a good army, but at least it'll be legal so I can play.

So I took a quick point total of what the WE will be bringing ( if I finish them all ) So far I'm at 2420 pts without any characters. upgrades or the planned Apoth's ( on the way add in's.)

So ChaplainGunther is set. Hoping you guys give him a game. As for me...Probably will have nothing to buy at the FW table.

Has anyone every played 30k before, or are we all just making this up as we go along?

I think I can get to 2k with a minimum of building and painting, as long as I can field my MW siccaran venator... which HAS purple... but also green.

Does anyone have any experience building a legal leviathan? I don't think I have rules for it anywhere. I'm using battlescribe to build my army and some of the leviathan entries/options are confusing. I need help from someone who actually has access to the rules.

it plays the same as 40K, the difference is all the unit/ legion Row ect. specific rules.

I can field about 500 pts of Alpha legion, the rest I can fill out with Imperial knights

Yep!! in fact the knight households predate the crusade era. Book 4 is all about them. Especially the Cerastus knights...like your knight lancer.

Lasgun only Guardsmen? Grots? Any basic troop is going to be pretty worthless in this situation for anything but bubble-wrap. For non basic, maybe lightning claw termis, or Pyrovours?

Well, if I can take my knights... even just the lancer, it'll really help me with points for the 30k pick-up fights.

Any knights are available in 30k.

I'll likely just print out the Salamanders, Knights and Titans parts. That way if I lose them or they get damaged I'm not out a super expensive book.

Ok just about a month to go..

So Here;s what you need to remember...

You have 500 pts to spend on a knight. Rules our on page one!
If you are under 500 pts yo have the option to take an (1) additional unit. Keep it to the imperial or traitor theme. Ask if you have questions.

If you don't have a knight will provide on for you... those who reserve a specific load out get them first. Also I'll have copies of the rules , data sheets for the knights and some prizes for certain events. (unfortunately no Nerdfest nudes this year - sorry Ramos )

Bring an army to play.. ( bring 2 or more if you want too).. We don't have a chance to play together ( or against ) very often, so we want to have fun pickup games. We'll be looking to do some 30K games .. we should be able to figure out something if you want in.

ps.. Yellowbeard is in. So we should have 11 of us.

Lastly PM me on when you will be arriving and your cell number.. I'll put a list together for you to track folks down and communicate during the event.

Hey guys, just thought I'd give you an update...

Based on what I think I can get done by Adepticon (or done enough)... it looks like I'll have a 2k and a 2.5k EC army (everyone out here likes to play 30k at high point values because of the big, costly, toys so I'm figuring 2k is minimum). I get to 2500 by adding a single Knight Lancer and a few odds & ends. "The Phoenician" isn't accounted for in either of these lists, thus would be a bonus if someone wanted to go higher points.


If someone thinks they want to do lower points, please tell me now so I can account for it. I'm painting specifically to these lists... so you've got to let me know if we're going to do 30k pick-ups at lower point values in case I have to paint something extra to get down there (I have so many of my points tied up in huge models that it may be a bit tricky going down in point value).

I doubt I can hit 2k without a knight or Primarch. If I can it will be pretty bad, just a bunch of dudes with bolters.

I'm not even sure what point totals Gunther's WE are at. Though I expect them to be over 3000. ( should I get them all done ) I believe the last time I took a quick look it was over 2400 and that was without the terminators or any wargear for anything.

He'll have access to my knights as well.

I'll also bring what AL I have though I believe it's close to 1000 pts and very basic. Really designed for Zone Mortallis.

Now to figure how to box and get this all in the truck. Titan and 5 Knights +... looking forward to AC!

Yellowbeard will be bringing Space Wolves, just in time for HH book 7. Cool.

No worries.. it's just 40k with a lot more options.. and a bit tweeking of the units/ Chapter rules. easy enough to adapt.

Infantry is viable. Make sure you equip you leaders appropriately though. You also have Terminators. Will you be getting all the recent stuff Nerd painted for you by AC?

Hmmm... OK, I'll draw up a 1000 pt and a 1500 point list as well. I'm just assuming everyone plays huge point values all the time because everyone here does.

Yeah.. Here too.. 2000 is the Minimum I've seen.

I'll try to get a list together.. At least of those things currently painted and then a expected to be available list. Just a Preliminary total he's up to 3350 without HQ's or wargear.

On the terrain front, should i attempt to bring as much as possible? Or enough for an 8x4? I have enough to cover probably two boards.

Also, it may not be the best idea, but i have had models shipped to me and i have brought them up in past years. I am willing to do so again but the mail was not kind to the models in the past.
