The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Because it's just a teaser trailer. You're putting way too much stock in a couple seconds of teaser footage.
Plus, they did the same thing when they teased The Amazing Spider-Man.

I see they decided to not make the movie about Miles Morales, but then they slapped Miles' best friend into the movie as Peter's best friend under the name of some character from the 80s who died in the 90s.
Yeah. That'll go over well with the ravenous horde on Tumblr
Movie does look good though. I didn't like the last guy to play Peter/Spidey very much. He just wasn't geeky enough. This kid seems to have the geeky awkwardness nailed though, and I love the scene with the robbers wearing Avengers masks. That's just a good idea XD
The Vulture looks awesome. Reminded me of Firefly from the Arkham series, but with more armor.

I still can't get excited about Spider-Man - the guy's never been my thing - but a Spider-Man movie that is part of the MCU, sure I'm in.

The main character's already a white straight male, so they hate him by default. The fact that he wants to "culturally appropriate" *nudge nudge wink wink* an African-American girl at his school will just make 'em madder.
Have to watch this at home with sound! Very excited for this! Tom Holland did a great job as Spider-Man in Cap 3.
Vulture looks awesome while still keeping some design elements from the 60s (fur collar).
I also love the fact that we don't get another Spider-Man origin story.
Its still basically an origin. From the preview trailer thing we know we see him getting his suit. I'd be surprised if there's no flashback to how he got the powers.
Yes, it was confirmed a month or so ago that Michael Keaton was indeed playing Vulture/Adrian Toomes.

It's not an origin.

And he'll get a new suit because Tony likes building new things.
I'm suspecting part of this is taking place at the same time as Cap 3, or at least flashbacks to it. I'm pretty sure the scene from that first preview is him in his kid clothes and getting the first spider suit from Stark.
That still doesn't make it an origin story though. He's already gotten his powers, Uncle Ben is dead, and he's been Spider-Man for some time.

Michael Keaton as Vulture is a really good bit of casting and makes me want to see this more than anything else. Not that it looks bad outside that, just that is the element that interests me most.
Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
Michael Keaton as Vulture...suspiciously like Michael Keaton as Birdman...don't let him shoot his own nose off!

I remember when the casting was announced a very SJW friend of mine(im not using that lightly, she was the sterotypical Tumblr SJW) complained about another white guy in the role and that "WE HAVE SEEN PETER PARKER, WHEN WITH THE MCU NO LONGER JUST HAVE WHITE MALES"
Some one that refused to see doctor strange because of tild swinton, but said Strange should be an asian male because Strange is problematic.
Anyway, looks cool. Kinda bummed Iron Man will be in it alot it looks like. I just want a true solo movie.

Maybe it is a sequel. We do not know what happened after he jumped, His daughter looked off to the sky and smiled......so maybe he had the suit already.

Having Spider Man back in the MCU movies is much better than having him stuck in a different movie studio on his own. While some of the cameos of other characters might be tiresome it makes the continuity and storylines better since he'll finally be able to interact with the rest of the MCU. Now they just need to bring in the FF and XMen for complete control. That would allow for recasting and re-introducing characters and let the studios cut down on the screen time of the big name actors by giving them appearances in other movies instead of paying the big money to keep making sequels. Infinity Gauntlet and Secret Wars ensemble style movies will be awesome.

The more I think about it, the more I'm happy the X-Men are off in their own universe.
Even in the comics, the X-Men don't really fit in the greater Marvel world.
Cyclops to Cap: "You're too far away from it. You always have been. It occurs to me, seeing you standing here. Where were you for us? For the mutants? Except now, when you need something."
It kinda sums it up for me. The X-Men are ultimately in a darker, more complex world. A greyer world, closer to our own. - Professor X is an allegory for Martin Luther King, after all. And Magneto for Malcolm X.
A pithy speech from Tony Stark or Captain America doesn't just fix things.
In saying that... That doesn't mean crossovers can't be a thing. There's plenty of opportunities for shenanigans happening when you take into account Dr Strange in the MCU and, for example, introducing the M'Kraan Crystal in the X-Men films.
- Very much how The Flash was able to hang out with Supergirl for an episode on the DC shows in season 1.
On the other hand, the Fantastic Four DO fit perfectly into the MCU. However, they'd probably need to do some retroactive shenanigans there. - Perhaps making them more closer to peers of Hank Pym. - Maybe Reed was one of Hank's students?
If they can make tony stark a mentor to Peter Parker work I'd think they could dovetail the x-men in nicely. They don't even have to have cameos or crossovers, just let Marvels talent do with the Xmen what they've done for the others. Put them on the plate, you don't have to put them in the casserole.
