Grand Convocation? I like the sound of that
Funny the formations are Skitarii/Cult/Knights, they should just roll them all into one codex if they're always putting them together in formations

MOTHER OF GOD
Ya it's pretty much your go to competitive formation at least until they combine codecs and create new units.
It will be hard pressed to find a formation that gives free upgrades including relics to an entire detschment, canticles to all including skitari, dual canticle uses, and normal formation benefits like reroll warlord traits while being flexible on units and fitting under 1850pts. Automatically Appended Next Post: ultimentra wrote:gungo wrote: Nostromodamus wrote:Cult Mech, Skitarii and Knights pretty much sums up my current Admech army.

However there is pretty much no chance this or any formation will ever be better than war convocation without a serious screw up by GW.
But it's cool ad mech players have another fluffy non-ultra competitive formation.

And if a BT player doesn't want to use Battle Company because it uses Tacticals instead of Crusaders? It literally doesn't make any sense for BT to use Gladius or Battle Company.
To be fair the new formation has a different name however I was wrong they literally just improved war convocation by default when they created a new relic list for ad mech since all upgrades are free in war convocation

Not necessarily.
Angels of Death uses fanciful names like that for stuff. Iron Hands, for example, get "Iron Guardians" as a selection in their Fist of Medusa Strike Force. It is a single Auxiliary selection of a Tactical Squad and any flavor of Dreadnought and "Honoured Ancients" as another, which is just a unit of Dreadnoughts of any flavor.
It could be that whatever this big Sisters+ BT formation is has the unit "tabs" listed as Sword Brethren and Marshal.

He's in the battle report in Jan.'s issue of WD.
Inquisitor has access to telepathy school --and also has "Aura of Oppression"
Cawl uses a war hymn to give vehicles in 12" of him a 5++ save.
His solar atomiser glances and then destroys ( last Hull point possibly ? ) a land raider. Possibly aided by another hymn/canticle.
Saint seems to rally/aid morale of units. Some fleeing guard rally when she arrives by DS.
Looks like she can return from the dead still/again too.

5++ Is a bit of a let down, but I suppose giving a Knight a 5++ on all sides could certainly be worse.
If this new formation is more flexible than the WarConvo, I very well may use it. I'd love to use MORE Knights, and LESS Skitarii/Cult Mech.

The only Admech vehicle does have access to an Invuln, and it is already a 5+ if you have two of them.
This seems best used with Knights.

Admech vehicles are Dunecrawlers, Dragoons and Ballistarii. Dunecrawlers and Dragoons have invulnerable but Ballistarii do not. Hence "most".
Still makes his buff pretty much moot though imho, unless allied with a non-Admech force.

Ahhh but you guys are thinking in terms of only our current codex vehicles. Just think of the possibilities once we get the next Imperial Armour book. Krios Venators, Triarios, and the Explorator, and plus whatever we get in our next codex! That could be very interesting. Not to mention we don't know if he can use it on allied vehicles. Land Raider with an Invuln save? A Baneblade perhaps?

I REALLY hope Cawl has absolutely insane rules. IF he really is 400-ish points, as per one rumor I saw elsewhere, I would want him to be an incredible center-piece to build around... not a slightly fancier Magos.
