I am looking fordward to read the book in any case, and one of my buddys is an IG guy - this will bring lots of fun to future battles.

Sadly from what we know of, there is no IG/AM mentioned in the book and it's not about them. So not sure if there is really anything for your buddy there.

IoM had it first with Chenkov and an Apocalypse formation for IG that let you bring back destroyed squads.

What edition was the Tyranid "without number" ?

GW's community page has explicitly said that there are formations and detachments that feature the Astra Militarum and allow for combined Mechanicus armies.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Third Ed.

It came about from a 2nd Ed Tyranid mission called 'Tyranid Attack', where the Tyranids could constantly recycle every unit, but would only win if they could kill ever single enemy model by the end of Turn 6.

Yes, I think it was 3rd ed too.

4th Ed, actually. In the '04 book, not the '01 one. The Third Ed. book was pretty spare, although it did start the mutations thing.

it sounds like it is Troops 4+ and 0-6 from Elites, FA, or HS.

Woah Celestine is pretty awesome, didn't expect that. Her main weakness is that silly AP3 on the whole unit, but she can tank like crazy, and deal quite a lot of damage on stuff that doesn't have a 2+ (or, well, T5 or more…)

Especially if he can be taken in place of any Dominus in any formation. AdMechSkit just got a huge boost with this guy. Heck, I might get a small amount of AdMech just so I can run him.

I have a feeling Celestine and Greyfax will find a way into most, if not all, of my lists for Marines and Guard. Cawl will find a home with my Guard (he'll help keep my tanks alive)

Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

good gravy...I gotta admit, the predominantly ork and chaos player part of me is feeling a little greener than usual about all this new super imperial stuff!

eh whatever though, good for you guys...sweet models with sweet rules is basically what we all want at the end of the day right?...anyway, I'm much more of a painter/modeller than a gamer, and I really have no interest in the tournament end of things, so the outstanding cheese potential this stuff brings from the looks of it, will probably never effect me anyway

...it's good to be green!

So I'm assuming that unless there's an errata, peltasts and hoplights aren't playable in this new admech detachment since secutarii aren't included as a faction in the grand convocation.

Celestine and greyfax both have models you can use pretty easily already until you get the new ones.

Maybe we will get a new Ordo Malleus and Ordo Xenos character. Malleus especially.
