Mostly satisfied, I wish blasts and heavy artillery in general was a bit better, and hotshot lasgun a bit better, that would make the main weapon of both my armies better and allow me to possibly compete with stronger stuff.

Dissatisfied enough that I havent bought anything in well over a year, when I used to easily spend 4 figures a year on hobby stuff, and have begun selling off armies.
The game is a mess, theres too much content to keep track of and much of it is garbage or simply poorly executed (i.e. pushing stuff out just to have a release for the month regardless of anything else), balance is awful, everything takes forever, the fluff is increasingly poorly written and the art increasingly losing its "40k-ness" and looking more and more like League of Legends or WoW or just rote illistrations of plastic kits, pickup gaming is dead, tournaments require enough extra paperwork that I wonder why they dont just write their own ruleset..
40k can work with a small like minded playgroup that is willing to rewrite the rules and live with lots of self imposed restrictions (explicit or implicit), and essentially write their own 40k, but aside from that 40k is a disaster.

This.
Completely dissatisfied. 40k is a veritable fustercluck of a game that needs a rules reboot from the ground up. Endless unilateral changes for the last 18 years have made for a bloated mess of a ruleset that was never intended to be that way.

This, mostly satisfied with 40k as a whole.
Big complaints are as listed above, I would also throw in the removal of D weapons from normal games as well and the removal of the ally matrix.
Mostly I agree with these two just one exception with each.
1. Some of the recent formation boosts have leveled shooting vs assault.
2. I dislike deathstars but dumping the Allies matrix outright puts respectable allies like Deathwatch and Harlequins on ice, I'd want to see them being standalone capable before the removal of the allies matrix.

On the fence. Rules fluctuate between functional/interesting and underproofread/silly release-by-release, models fluctuate between cool and disgustingly overdecorated release-by-release, and the fluff keeps getting stupider (protip: you're allowed to use nouns you haven't copyrighted).
The game is mostly working and has crawled out of the pit of 6e where nothing worked at all, but I don't know how much hope I have for the future.

I voted mostly dissatisfied. Part of it could be me. So I thought time to take a break. Now I am coming back to 40K, tried to play a few games and found out that the rules bloat is even worse, it's even more unbalanced than it was a few months ago and I still need to play other people's way.
So I guess it's not me after all. I did find a few people who like to play 40K for fun so now I don't need to play people who say I have to play their way now.

Not necessarily. Whoever thought giving too few wounds to vehicles without upping their armour at all was stupid. In Heresy games where AV is on average a point higher most places and there are 5-6HP vehicles wandering around (and there are no Wraithknights to step on them) the tanks still feel like tanks.

Honestly, I'm completely unsatisfied with any GW game. Even though I've never actually like... played a game the initial money barrier is so grossly overpriced for some plastic models that I just throw my hands into the air and decide to play a much cheaper 60 dollar Steam game + sales that costs at least 200% less.
Please for the love of everything holy, lower the prices.

Have you really never played a game, and you're completely unsatisfied because it's too expensive? That doesn't even make sense man. That's like saying you're completely unsatisfied by a Porsche because you've never owned or driven one, because they're $180k cars.

I more so dissatisfied with the companies overall pricing. I don't really see how 10 plastic models the size of my thumb, made out resin can cost upwards of 40 dollars, while the next one with a single model just alittle bit taller with a bigger gun costs 50 dollars. I could of just as easily went over to another game and payed the same money upfront and get more out of my money. Warmachine is much cheaper to start than 40k including warmachine's paint compared to GW's.

Well I don't want to get into pricing so much here - everyone has different limits on what they'll spend. It just seems unfair to be totally dissatisfied with a game you've never played once. If you've never played a game on Steam, do you write reviews for it?

somewhat satisfied. the discount sets coming out are helping appeal to new players which goes a long way to improvement, but they really need to work on balance. if the new formations are to make things better for low power armies then orks should have had a billion by now. make erratas more regularly and even change points where appropriate. wraitkjnights for example should go up in points cost and stompas need to have points cut in half. hoping 8th pulls things to a little less complicated, but at the same time I loved the way the new HH boxset added in d12 and d8 which might be nice for what should be highly survivable units like termies, broadsides or meganobs etc.

Currently sitting at +16, with an average rating of 0.2. Mostly Satisfied is the most popular answer by far, with slightly more than twice the votes of the next most popular answer of Mostly Dissatisfied.
It's interesting to note that both Totally Dissatisfied and Mostly Dissatisfied each have more votes that Somewhat Dissatisfied. This seems to suggest that if you are Dissatisfied, it is quite heavily so, while there's a lot more room for further satisfaction for those that are already Satisfied.

Totally dissatisfied. Everything about the rules is a spectacular example of why GW's incompetent game designers need to be fired. Painting is still fun, but the game itself is borderline unplayable and my interest in playing has dropped off to near zero.

For me, Mostly Dissatisfied. I play games with a close group of friends, and we are willing to talk before hand to make sure it's not going to be a total gak-show... but even then we used to play 3 times a month, but now I can't remember the last time we played. We've all agreed that the game is simply crap.
Per previous thread, I'm tinkering with making my own rules, to make the game playable again.

40 percent of respondents are saying that they aren't satisfied.
How the feth does GW stay afloat?
If almost half of all people who went to a restaurant left that restaurant saying that the food was bad, that would be a very bad thing for that restaurant. Automatically Appended Next Post: I'd also like to point out that the number of dissatisfied people is roughly equivalent to the number of mostly satisfied people.
This likely accounts for why disagreement can get so heated on dakka forums.
If the number of people who reviewed a restaurant said "THE FOOD IS TERRIBLE" was roughly equivalent to the people who said "THE FOOD IS GREAT," I imagine that there would be heated disagreement there too.

How the feth does GW stay afloat?
For two reasons:
1) GW has a painting hobby attached to their game, so even people who aren't happy with the game often keep spending money.
2) GW makes a lot of money off "three purchase" kids begging their parents for toys: an initial purchase, a birthday gift, and a christmas gift. These people aren't posting on forums and probably lose interest in the hobby very quickly, but GW has already moved on to selling the same three purchases to the next customers. As long as they can keep new kids buying stuff the high turnover doesn't kill them.
If almost half of all people who went to a restaurant left that restaurant saying that the food was bad, that would be a very bad thing for that restaurant.
Unless it's, say, a fast food restaurant next to an interstate offramp in the middle of nowhere. Reviews are important, but not the only factor in the life or death of a business.
