After watching the video a few times and looking at the models...zero interest. While I can objectively appreciate the quality of the sculpt and the depth of plastic-sprue-making that GW has achieved, this release does far less for me than the last one (and I play Eldar!).

Like someone said above, this is kinda-good/kinda-bad looking Eldar, and the aesthetic is awful. Even if 40K doesn't get the AoS rules treatment the models are starting to get the "take it from 11...up to 13" aesthetic effect - not something I'm interested in. Probably great for painters, competition and commission folks...but as gaming pieces, they look pretty bad.

I'll hold out hope that the Fracture of Biel-Tan is something remotely interesting in the fluff, but the direction the "Aeldari" are headed will definitely steer me away from rejoining 40K in the future. If this is an indication of the models/aesthetic - I'm out. I'm also not ecstatic about new random characters getting plastic kits when the old metal Avatar is still trundling about. Personally really disappointed (I secretly was hoping for Exodites) with the direction this went. Oh well. Can't win them all.

PS: I do weep for tournament players if these characters are used with Eldar and combined Dark Eldar to make an even more ridiculous codex.

cool models. Still, with so much of the Eldar range still in finecast, kind of silly to not address this issue before releasing new SC.

I'm really liking how the avatar of Ynnead looks like it's partially corrupted by Slaanesh.

I'm also curious about the dog. The sword dude is easily the coolest looking model.

New aesthetic? The two Eldar look pretty much like dark Eldar sculpts exactly.

The Ynnead Avatar is totally new though I guess, so some will like, some won't.

It's certainly Not what I was imagining, but as a kind of reflection of Slaanesh I can see what they did. I am a big fan personally (Not that I would say no to Exodites, or an Avatar of course!)

I don't buy the fact that these are new characters. Don't tell me there is a second ''courtly razor-fan wielding Eldar'' other than Lady Malys and the armoured guy's offhand has a similar shield and pose to Prince Yriel. If it's a coincidence it's a large one.

Oh, I agree, but we weren't sure from the original artwork, blurred mini pic.

For those saying there's no harlequins' stuff in this release. Look at the visarch's waist and hips. He has masks on it, quite similar to the current harlqueins I'd say.

All but the avatar seem pretty weak models.

Cat-lady looks really awkward and stiff. I guess the design conversation went along the lines of:

"Eldar are other worldly space elves with a rich history of bubbly, organic flowing design, we really need to push that aesthetic moving forward, bringing the best of Jes Goodwin's art into the now, ideas?"

"Make her look like some kind of wild west or steampunk prostitute meets can-can dancer?"

"Done."

Sword guy is equally stiff and unconvincing, like he's trying out poses in a mirror. Plus the jaw bit of his helmet gives him a comic pout

The avatar is very dynamic, more than a touch of slaneesh, but that seems very apt.

The pose of the Yncarne is the same as Jes' early sketch for the Great Harlequin.. nice reference [obviously with added sword and soul vortex..].
It all looks amazing- really like Yvraine the best. I wonder what this means for the Bloody Handed God and his followers? Doesn't sound good for Biel Tan as well...

Unlike the Imperial Triumvirate, I'll be giving this boxed set a miss. I really love the cat lady though. I'll try to get hold of her on her own.

Might have to double check but I believe she was a High Elf in Warhammer Fantasy. Either an Everqueen or a Queens Guard Handmaiden if my memory serves.

All autarchs have force shields. ALL OF THEM, not just Yriel. Wasn't Yriel also wielding a spear that was eating his soul? What did he just throw that in the warp or something and picked up a sword and that plot point went away?

Just had a funny thought, what if the shard possessed vect, him needing so many souls to torture could have made him the perfect vassal which then brought in lady malys who's warp entity friend was a projection of ynnead so when she's been on her own talking to herself she's been talking to ynnead making her the prophet or herald or whatever her title was and yriel to be the champion being half blooded and possibly vects child, all with new names and new gear

Going the way they are with the last Eldar codex, you will probably get these models for free, for every Wraith Knight you buy, when all three are on the table, the Wraith Knights toughness will be boosted to 10, save will become unvulnerable, and create a zone of death that every enemy model inside the zone takes 2D6 Str D hits per phase.

If think they are absolutely brilliant, they make amazing models. However, there were/are a hell of a lot on the AoS/fantasy side and there now seems to be more and more on the 40k side. Getting a bit over done now.
