Hooooooooooly gak! I'm getting some serious Mad Max vibes here, I have never seen some of that artwork before!

Tbh, it's only insanely expensive if you are only interested in one or two of the pieces AND you must get the book for the rules. The quality of the miniatures kinda justifies the price of 3 (and 2 awesome minions) plastic hero characters.
As I'm not interested in Crawl, the box was a pass for me, and will try to get the others separately

@TDL They are from the 2nd Edition Codex. And the bionic limbed Eldar Pirarto from the 5th Ed hardcover rulebook. Some really inspirational artwork, especially in better quality than these scans.

Personally, I'm pretty hyped for this box too!! Absolutely love the model for Yvraine and pretty chuffed with the Avatar too! Not quite as fussed by the Visarch, but two out of three is good enough for me!!
As for the price, I would happily pay £50 for the box, as was the case with the Triumvirate of the Imperium! Judging by the price of the character blisters, you'd probably be looking at about £35 for Cawl (using £24 for standard dominus as an estimate) and at least £15 for Greyfax, making Celesting an added bonus, so I would expect something similar with this release!
With the Avatar I quite appreciate the Slaanesh-y look, after all Slaanesh was made from the Eldar, so it's likely that she/he/it looks like the Eldar, and not the other way around!

Red dude would look better without the fur, imo - doesn't fit with any Eldar aesthetic that I can recall. Sort of like the case with the insanely huge headdress on 'Malys', though the later just makes her look silly.
Well, there is one particular classic art piece:
It makes him look rather regal, so since Yriel is a "prince", maybe ... ?
One picture doesn't make the guy fit into the Eldar aesthetic. It makes it stand out of the aesthetic, sure, but it's definitely not helping him blend in. And though it seems clear that GW wants Ynnead to get away from that - after all huge spiky headdresses and Slaaneshi horns aren't exactly common in Eldar aesthetic - it just doesn't really fit even in that "let's go away from the previous looks" feel.

Hm, so how hard would it be I wonder to convert this new avatar into a Vampire Lord? Greenstuff the energy swirls into some bats, lose the horn and swap the sword perhaps?

If it's £50 for these three I'll be happy with that
£50 for the 5 minis in the first triumvirate isn't even in the same hemisphere as reasonable, let alone the ridiculous $140 it was priced down here.
Anyway, I'm an Eldar player, and I think all three of these minis are bad, and not actually Eldar at all, rather something completely different they've slapped the name on. There's no aesthetic relationship at all, and that's before getting to the new house style of "stick so much gak on it the extraneous detail becomes the model", or branching the top knot fetish out into a new army.

Price is debatable, especially when regional variations come into to play. It may be expensive but it is less expensive than recent GW products.
As for the details on the eldar models. The cloak on the lady, the armour in the shoulders of the red dude and the leg of the avatar, all echo the dark eldar raider. The knee pads and shoulder pads on the red dude echo the harlequin masks. The handles on each of the power swords are pretty much identical and noticeably Eldar. The shape of each of the bodies, is clearly in line with the other Eldar models. The ribbed detail on the lady is clear inspired by the same detail on the Eldar farseers, especially Eldrad. Then there are all the soul stones, which tie the models together and fit the theme of the God of death. As for top knots, the have been a major feature of the Eldar range since the beginning and very much a signature element of Jes Goodwin's style.

It's perfectly reasonable to me. It's not £28 for GoC reasonable, but is it worth two trips to the cinema? Sure.
I can't understand how you could possibly think the two Eldar aren't Eldar looking, they are so close to previous models.
Ynnead Avatar is something new, it looks exactly like every Eldar-god-of-the-deads I've ever seen!

The last guy is exactly the same guy that was used in the previous image by TDL. Also, try as I may I can't see any fur on the Seer Council (maybe I'm blind - seriously, help me here).
Also, again this only serves to reinforce that wearing furs is the exception, not the norm. You got like.. a handful of eldars in fur, and - one - model that was cast ages ago that had fur. If wearing fur was something eldar-y, we'd definitely have seen way more of it. But hey, maybe that's me.

it has fur along its back and shoulders in the same way as the classic Warlock.
The last pic is from ffg rogue trader while the previously shared one was from the 5th ed 40k rulebook iirc.
ffg just used the aesthetic.
Afaik there's only one visarch so you can't get more exceptional than that.
Now, given that this is called 'Fracture of Biel Tan'...
Can I get some bets on whether the new Ynneadvatar will be introduced as a big bad ass by effortlessly defeating an avatar of khaine?
Because I'll admit it: at this point that would get a laugh out of me.

Might not be the great value the Triumvirate was but I'm sure it'll still be a good price. Granted it won't include a gigantic tech-priest on a 90mm (?)base but I'd guess maybe half the price as well, which would be very reasonable.

The fur doesn't bother me as much as the hoop skirt and corset on the one on top. Steampunk fashion is supposed to be an Imperial thing, the Eldar have a thing for freedom of movement that a long train makes no sense with.

Completely see where you're coming from with the lack of movement - in my head she is striding across the battlefield with Dark Eldar Wyches (or similar) arcing around her, sending splinter rounds in to the enemy, and throwing themselves in front of any fire coming her way, before she meets the enemy and slices their head from their body in one elegant swing! Whether that is even remotely close to where GW will go with things remains to be seen (and I admit is probably unlikely) but I'm going with that image regardless!

Now I'll admit to not having a *ton* of experience wearing skirts, but it seems to me that one of these ladies is wearing a fairly simple piece of cloth slit all the way up her legs so there's no leg movement that the skirt interrupts, and the other one is wearing a massive assemblage of wire hoops that probably limits her movement to a walk and would tangle her up completely if she were to fall over in any direction.

See, the shape of the corset has my intrigued, precisely because it seems a little odd.
If it is indeed Lady Malys, or her meat suit, could the corset actually be some kind of containment system type thing for whatever she put in her chest?

A wild speculation regarding the "fracture of Biel Tan":
In the Gathering stom 1 it is hinted that Cawl is carrying something (apparantly small as he can smuggle it out of the mechanicum ship which gets destroyed) hinted that it or something like it was on Davin. If it is an anatheme and the plot hook of the failing golden throne and the deal with the DE to maintain it is continued it could be the part that the mechanicum owes to the DE. The new Ynnead faction uses it to kill the avatar of Khaine (or Khaine itself through it) so Ynnead can absorb him. Ynnead gets buffed with +100 Attacl - mega imba, eldar team win.

Well I'm preordering anyway, but if these are £50 as the Imperial ones I'll have no qualms.
Going on GW's current pricing for new plastic heroes you are looking £15-18 just for standard size ones.. going on the fact the Megaboss was £24.. easily both Crawl and Celestine with guardians would be at least £24 individually.
I'd guess the two Eldar are shoe ins for £18 individually.. and looking at the death thingy.. probably £30, so I can see it being £50 again for sure.
Although when I consider I've spent probably £80 on Overwatch lootboxes and another £40 on Hearthstone cards in the past few months.. which is literally me buying nothing but electronic air.. this is nothing but good value for me.

Exactly what I expected, having seen what Cawl and Celestine look like, and seeing the general direction of 40k models towards more bling. My first gut reaction was 'these models do nothing for me'.
Then, I thought 'hang on, I've never liked named characters in general. Perhaps it's just that bias. Look at them again Ynneadwraith. Properly this time'.
Now, they're definitely growing on me I really like the whole oriental-morphine-den-matriarch look of 'not-Malys'. Love that she walks around barefoot too. Very Lelith. Very Dark Eldar
Not-Yriel was the one I was happiest with on the first viewing, and I've stayed happy the more I've looked him. If I get them I shall shave off his weird bat-ears, paint him a different colour and be very happy with the model
I'm conflicted about the Avatar of Ynnead. I love the Slaaneshi connection, but without seeing the background fluff I can't help but feel like they've missed a trick (or got it slightly skee-wiff). The model would fit absolutely perfectly as a 'High Solitaire', given that it's implied that Solitaires' powers come from stealing a little bit of Slaanesh's power. The quasi-daemonic look is utterly perfect for that. Saying that, I think it's the colour that's putting me off slightly. Repainted in bone-white and ash grey it would look awesome as the herald of the nascent Chaos God of Death (which is pretty much what the Eldar are birthing).
Provided they're not wallet-ruiningly expensive I shall buy them! I like not-Malys, and not-Yriel, and the High Solitaire (going to call him that from now on) would make the perfect basis for my Croneworld unfettered Eldar psyker (counts-as Lord of Change).
Might have to buy two of him so I can do the bone-coloured paint scheme

I love the look of the corset/bustle thing. Makes her look like an old-scool orientel opium den matriarch. Absolutely love the aesthetic, precisely because it looks slightly odd. Builds on 'not-Malys' fan aesthetic really, really nicely
